KNOW YOUR TOASTER
FIRST TIME USE
When the toaster is used for the first time an odor may be emitted due to
manufacturing residue or oil remaining in the toaster or heating element. This
is normal and should disappear after some time. When the toaster is used for
the first time, it is recommended to follow the below steps, except without
bread, let the toaster cool down and then begin using the toaster for normal
bread toasting.
CAUTION: The bread may burn, therefore toaster must not be used near or below curtains and other combustible materials. The toaster should be attended when in use.
USING YOUR TOASTER
-
Put the bread slice into the bread slot. A maximum of ONE bread slice can be inserted into the bread slot each time.
NOTE: Make sure the crumb tray is completely positioned in place before using. -
Connect the power cord plug into a main power outlet.
-
Set the colour control knob to your desired browning colour. Settings range from 1 to 5, the lowest “1” is for lightest and the highest “5” is for darkest. The bread slice can be toasted to a golden colour in the middle position.
NOTE: When toasting continuously, the toasting colour for the latter bread will be darker than the bread that was toasted when the toaster was cool. -
Lower the carriage handle down vertically until it is latched in place, and the appliance will begin toasting.
NOTE: The carriage lever will only latch when the toaster is connected to main power. -
Once the bread has been toasted to the preset colour, the carriage lever will automatically pop up.
NOTE : During toasting, you may also observe the toasting colour. If it is satisfactory, you can turn the knob to the CANCEL position to stop the operation at any time, but never lift the carriage lever to cancel toasting. -
If you want to warm cold toasted bread, set the control knob to REHEAT position, and then lower the carriage lever down until it is latched in place. In this mode, the toasting time is fixed, and the carriage lever will automatically spring up when the reheating process has ended.
CAUTION
- Remove all protective wrappings before toasting.
- If the toaster starts to smoke, turn the control knob to the left end CANCEL position to stop toasting immediately.
- Do not toast food with extremely runny ingredients such as butter.
- Never attempt to remove jammed bread from the slots without unplugging the toaster from the main electrical power outlet socket. Be sure not to damage the internal mechanism or heating elements when removing bread.
- The bread slot is only applicable for the toasting of regular bread slices.
- To achieve uniform browning colour, we recommend that you wait a minimum of 30 seconds between each toasting cycle so that the browning colour control can reset automatically.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
- Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from main power outlet socket and let the appliance cool down completely.
- Pull open the crumb tray at the bottom of the toaster and empty it. If the toaster is used frequently, accumulated bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Make sure the crumb tray is locked in position before using the toaster again.
- Wipe the outside of the toaster with a slightly dampened cloth and polish with a soft dry cloth.
- Do not immerse the toaster in water or other liquid.
- When storing, the power cord may be wound under the bottom of the toaster.
