Important Safety Instructions

Please read these precautions carefully before use.

Do not operate this product when driving or in a vehicle.

• The device is not waterproof. Keep the device away from water.
  • Avoid situations where liquids may spill onto the device.
  • Do not place or store the device or charging adapter where they can fall or be knocked or pulled into water or any other liquid.
  • Do not use the device while bathing or showering.
  • Do not attempt to charge the device if it is wet.
• As a safety precaution, do not operate the device if it is damaged.
• Only authorized personnel are permitted to perform repairs. No changes or modifications to the device are permitted.
  • Do not attempt to repair the device. You may expose yourself to dangerous electrical components and cause harm to yourself.
  • Do not use the device if the parts or accessories are not supplied by the manufacturer as defined in this manual.
  • Contact Respiray Customer Service (support@respiray.com) if the device is damaged or does not appear to be working properly.
• The device contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is a sensitive component that can cause injury if damaged.
  • Do not attempt to remove the battery. Damaging the battery creates a risk of fire or explosion.
  • To replace the battery, contact Respiray or an authorized reseller only. Replacement by a third party may lead to damage to the device. Use of an unqualified battery may create a risk of fire, leakage, explosion, or other hazards.
  • The WEEE directive requires that you dispose of this electrical device (including all accessories and parts except for filters) at a designated recycling collection point for electrical devices.
  • Do not dispose of the device (or any of its accessories or parts except for filters) in domestic waste!
  • The battery unit should be disposed of and recycled safely.

Contraindications

Do not use if you have:

• a pacemaker or a serious problems with blood circulation in the chest or neck area
• broken or irritated skin, potential skin malignancies, or swollen, infected, or inflamed zones in places that may come into contact with the device
• chronic pain from osteochondrosis
• epilepsy

Overview of the Device

Intended Use
This wearable air purifier is designed for personal use. It catches and filters airborne allergens (such as pet dander, dust, pollen and mould) and harmful pathogens, including virus particles, from the air. It also provides effective protection against various pollutants like smoke, dust and chemicals. The device minimizes exposure to airborne particles and combats pollution by creating a zone of purified air in front of the wearer’s face. The product may only be used according to the instructions in this manual. Any use other than that described in this manual is seen as an unintended use. Device Description

The device consists of the main unit, incorporating the HEPA filter, ventilators, battery, and the accompanying strap. The individual components are illustrated below.

Assembling the Straps with the Main Unit

• STEP 1: Take the right side of the strap and push the plastic ball joints into the holes on the right side of the main unit.
• STEP 2: Take the left side of the strap (with the logo) and place the magnets into the magnetic slots on the device.
• STEP 3: Adjust the strap length to the position where the device is blowing the most air towards your mouth and nose.
• STEP 4: Slide the strap cushion from position 4-A to position 4-B so that it covers the strap connection.

Inserting the Main Filter

Inserting the Pre-Filter

Operation

• STEP 1: Open the magnetic strap on the left side of the device.
• STEP 2: Place the device on your chest.
• STEP 3: Guide the strap around your neck and back into place.
• STEP 4: Place the device in a comfortable position. If necessary, adjust the strap length and slide the strap cushion to a position that satisfies you.
• STEP 5: Turn the device on or off by holding down the power button on the right side.
• STEP 6: Press the power button to switch between the two airflow speeds. We recommend using the normal speed when you are sitting in one place and the higher speed for moving around.
• STEP 7: Open the magnetic strap to remove the device.

Charging
Charge the device using a USB Type-C charging cable and a power connector. Charging time is approximately 2 hours.

Indicator Lights
Next to the power button are three white lights, which are used to indicate the battery level. There is also a blue light above the power button that indicates when it’s time to change the main filter.

Whenever you turn on your Respiray Wear A+ or change the airflow speed, the battery indicator lights will show for 5 seconds. Here is what they mean:

When Respiray Wear A+ is charging, the indicator lights show the following:

67–99%
One solid white light with two lights blinking| Battery is charging and at 33–66%
Three white lights (blinking)| Battery is charging and at <33%

Maintenance

Cleaning
Before cleaning the device, make sure it is turned off. Then, gently wipe it with a soft, slightly dampened cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or detergents. To disinfect the surface of the device, use rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

Be careful not to allow any water inside the device, as this can cause damage. Do not turn the device on before it is completely dry.

Replacing the Main HEPA Filter

NOTE:
If the previously inserted filter is stuck with the plastic edge, remove the filter and the filter’s foam. Make sure to remove the foam’s glue on the plastic surface before inserting the new filter. Ensure you insert the new filter straight, not at an angle, so it will not get stuck next time .

Cleaning and Replacing the Washable Pre-Filter

• The role of the pre-filter is to prevent larger particles from reaching the ventilators and prolong the lifetime of the main filter.
• We recommend cleaning the pre-filter once a month by vacuum cleaning in the gaps of the bottom cover, which will remove any large particles.
• The pre-filter should be changed after every 400 hours of operation – or at the same time as every second main filter change. To replace the filter, perform the following steps:

Storing the Device
The device should be stored at room temperature (64–82 °F / 18–28 °C) and in a low-humidity environment (30–50% relative humidity). To preserve the battery during longer periods of storage, we also recommended that you first charge the device to around 33–67% (so that one LED is lit and two are blinking). Do not store the device around combustible or inflammable objects.

What does Respiray Wear A+ do?

The wearable air purifier Wear A+ relieves airborne allergies and protects the wearer from airborne pollutants and pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, by creating a clean air zone around the face without covering the face or restricting breathing.

How does it work?

Respiray Wear A+ uses a highly effective HEPA filter that filters out most of the allergens that can cause irritation and distress: pollen, dust mites, pet dander, etc. It is also effective against air pollution and pathogens like viruses and bacteria.

Is the device safe for children?

This depends on each child's age and activity levels. If they feel comfortable while wearing the device, it will not pose them any harm with normal use. However, if the child falls and lands on top of the device, they could potentially be hurt or injured.

Is the device’s battery replaceable?

No, the battery is currently integrated into the device and therefore not replaceable. Please do not attempt to separate the battery from the casing or replace it.

How much air does the device clean?

In the normal mode, the device cleans 2.4 cubic feet/70 litres of air per minute. In the higher mode, the device cleans 4.2 cubic feet/120 litres of air every minute.

Is the device water-resistant?

No, the device is not water resistant, and it is not intended for use in humid or wet environments.

How long does the HEPA filter last?

The HEPA filter should be replaced after every 200 hours of operation. We generally recommend replacing the filter after 3 months if it has been used less than 200 hours during this period. The filter should also be replaced if accumulated dust or other particles are visible on the device or if the filter is clogged and causes the ventilators to produce more noise.

Can the device be used while charging?

Yes, the device can be used while charging.

What material is the device casing?

The casing is made from high-quality PC/ABS plastic.

Are the straps replaceable?

Warranty Information

Respiray OÜ, Mõisa 4, 13522, Tallinn (hereinafter referred to as ”Respiray”) warrants that the product is free from defective workmanship and parts for one (1) year from the date of the original purchase or the date of delivery, provided the product has been used, cleaned, and maintained under these instructions and Respiray’s recommendations. This warranty does not include consumable parts, such as the filters, which must be replaced regularly by the user.

This warranty does not cover:

• Instances where the product has been used outside of the intended use and/or our recommendations;
• Instances where damage has been caused by misuse, mishandling, accident, or excessive wear and tear.

Any claim under this warranty must be made within one (1) year of the date of purchase or delivery of the product. If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should contact the relevant support centre. The buyer will then receive further information about the processing of the warranty claim, e.g. where they can send the product and what documentation is required. A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can provide a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt and the original product to Respiray, or an authorized Respiray partner.

The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty:

• Deterioration due to normal use of the product;
• Products that are used, cleaned, stored, or maintained improperly and/or contrary to the provisions of the instructions for use;
• Products that have been opened, repaired, or modified by the buyer or by a service provider that is not authorized by Respiray;
• Damage that arises during transport between the manufacturer and customer, or between the service centre and customer;
• Damage arising as a consequence of a fault in this product (however, in this case, claims may be made under product liability or other compulsory statutory liability provisions).
