FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to unplug the Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod if I turn off the hot water for several months?
The Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod does not require any special maintenance. Leave it connected at all times, and it will work only if necessary. Even if you turn off the hot water tank, if there is still water in the tank, the Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod will remain functional to prevent corrosion. If you empty the tank, the anode will turn off automatically because the water acts as a conductor between the anode and the ground. A powered anode does not function as a heating element. There is no danger in emptying the water from the tank without disconnecting the anode.
Can I use the Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod if I have a water softener?
Yes, it is even highly recommended to install a powered anode if you have a water softener. The water softener generally makes the water more aggressive to the tanks, which reduces the lifespan of your hot water tank and creates a more conducive environment for the development of sulfur-reducing bacteria which creates the rotten egg smell in hot water. The Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod will automatically adjust to provide optimum rust protection.
What is the annual power consumption of the Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod?
Since the amount of current used by the anode will vary from region to region due to the hardness of the water, it is impossible to give an exact answer. However, on average, the anode will use 3 KWh per year. If we take the average price of electricity in the United States, the cost to run the anode 24 hours a day all year round is under US$ 1.
Is it normal to read a voltage lower than what is indicated on the Corro‑Protec Powered Anode Rod power supply?
Yes, because the voltage adjusts automatically depending on the conductivity of your water. A very low voltage means that your water is very conductive and the anode does not need to send much current to provide adequate protection.

Our True Promises
Our Powered Anode Rod system is crafted to effectively prevent corrosion inside your RV water heater tank. But remember, while we take pride in our 20-year warranty on the Powered Anode system’s performance, this doesn’t extend to the entire water heater.
Different water heaters, depending on their production and quality, might require other parts to be replaced over time, regardless of our corrosion protection. We can’t warranty the entirety of a water heater—after all, we don’t manufacture them. We focus on what we do best : preventing internal corrosion. However, maintenance on other components, unrelated to corrosion, might still be necessary.
Furthermore, our product is not just built to last; we back its durability with a 20-year warranty period. Always keep in mind : our commitment is to the efficacy and longevity of our product, not to external factors beyond our control.
Our Transparent Warranty
What’s covered ? Our commitment is to the integrity and functionality of the
Corro‑Protec Powered Anode system.
We guarantee it against defects in material or workmanship when installed and
operated as intended. The anode you purchased should be installed in an RV
water heater, not a residential water heater. Installing an RV anode rod in a
residential water heater is not considered to be installation and operation as
intended.
How Long Is the Warranty Valid ? For installations in a recreational vehicle,
we offer a complimentary 20-year Extended Warranty. This no-cost extension is
our way of ensuring that you can enjoy long-term protection and support for
your product without worry. By registering your product on our website within
90 days of purchase, you help us safeguard your warranty service for the
future. This simple step guarantees that even if your original purchase
documents are misplaced over the
years, we can still verify and honor your warranty claim. If the product is
not registered, the standard 5-year warranty remains in place.
Does Corro‑Protec Warranty My Water Heater ? It’s simple logic : we only vouch for what we create. While we’re proud of Corro‑Protec system’s top-tier quality, we can’t guarantee the entire water heater since we don’t manufacture it. Just as you wouldn’t warranty something you didn’t craft, neither can we. Our focus remains on ensuring our product excels in its role within your water heater. Water heaters, depending on their make and quality, might require other parts to be replaced over time, irrespective of our corrosion protection. We focus on what we do best : preventing internal corrosion. However, maintenance on other components, unrelated to corrosion, might still be necessary.
Corro‑Protec’s Limited Warranty

The replacement part will inherit the remainder of the original Product’s Warranty Period or ninety (90) days from the service date, whichever is greater.
