BASIC CROCHET STITCH DIAGRAM

Stitch (Abbroviated ‘st’) Slip knot
Every piece of crochet chain starts with a slip knot. Loop the yarn around two fingers (leaving a tail) and pull the tail halfway through the loop. Insert the crochet hook into the second loop and gently pull the loop taut onto the crochet hook. -
Chain Stitch (Abbroviated ‘ch’)
The chain stitch is the basis for all crochet which is also called a foundation chain. -
Slip Stitch (Abbroviated ‘sl st’)
The slip stitch is the flattest or smallest of all crochet stitches. You can use this stitch by slip-stitching the ends of a foundation chain te form a rina. -
Single Crochet (Abbreviated ‘sc'”)
The single crochet is the most fundamental of all stitches, Gather the yarn with your crochet hook and draw up the loop through the stitch. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through two loops, leaving one loop on the hook . -
Increase (Abbreviated ‘inc”)
You can increase stitches by adding a stitch at the beginning of the row. Make 2 sc in the same knot. -
Double Crochet (Abbreviated ‘Dc'”)
The double crochet is one of the most common crochet stitches and is about twice as tal as a single crochet. Wrap the yarn around the crochet hook. Then insert the crochet hook into the next stitch loop. Wrap the yarn with your crochet hook and pull the loop through the stitch (three loops now on the hook)Wrap the yarn around the hook again and pull it through the first two loops, leaving two bop on the hook. Then, wrap the yor around the hook again and bring it through the remaining two loops to leave only one loos on the hook Comolete the row. -
Popcorn Stitch (Abbreviated ‘5 dc popcorn)
Make 5 dc in the same knot, flip over, then make si on the back th the knot formed bu the first de. -
Round (Abbreviated ‘Rd’)
This continues the chain stitches into a circle. Each round starts with ch and ends with si st. -
Fasten off (Abbreviated ‘F/O’)
Fasten off by pulling the yor through the end stitch and pulling it taut. Cut off. -
Weaving in / invisible close
Cut the yarn, leaving a long yarn end. Draw the end through the final loop on the hook and thread it onto a yarn needle. Weave your needle through the front loops only on the last round and pull tight. Weave remaining yarn into your piece.
Please noted that all yarns needs to be hidden behind the stitch.
MAKE A CROCHET CUSHION COVER
Square Pieces
- R1: (Please use the yellow yarn) 8 sc [8 sts] (Fig. 1)
- R2: (5 dc popcorn, 2 ch) x 8 times (Fig. 2)
- R3: Make a (3 dc, ch, 3 de) on the each slip stitch in the R2. (Fig. 3)
- R4: (inc-dc, dc) x 16 times [48 sts] (Fig. 4)
- R5: (de, ch, 6 dc popcorn in every 2 des of R4, ch. dc. 2 ch) x 12 times (Fig. 5)
- R6: (3 dc, 3ch) x 16 times [48 sts] (Fig. 6)
Now you have finished a complete square piece. Please follow the above steps to make 5 complete square pieces and 4 square pieces that only end at R5. (Fig. 7)
Connect All Square Pieces
- Take 1 unfinished square piece, crochet 1 sl after 3 dc, then make 1 sc to the corresponding position of 1 complete square pieces to connect the 2 square pieces. (Fig. 8-9)
- Please follow the step 2 to connect 9 square pieces. (Fig, 10)
- After connecting 9 square pieces, please use the white yarns to crochet 1 de at each de, 2 dc at each si, and 3 dc at each of the 4 corners on the outermost round, total of 252 sts. (Fig. 11-12)
- Now you have finished half of the cushion cover, please follow al the steps above to complete the other half. 5. Please use the blue yarn to make 200 sc at the same position of 2 connected large square pieces. Please not to leave one side open to put a pillow inside before crocheting shut. Now you have finished the crochet cushion cover. (Fig. 14)
