SETTING UP AND OPERATIONAL AND PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
-
Ensure that the press is situated on a flat level surface with all 4 wheels in contact with the floor.
-
When positioning the press, never roll over cracks/ crevices/leads/air lines to ensure the press remains upright during relocation in your workshop and to prevent damage to the castors and also to prevent tip over.
-
Once the press is positioned engage the castor wheel locks to prevent movement of the press during all operational procedures.
-
Air supply must be regulated to a maximum of 100Psi/690kPa to prevent premature wear in the air/hydraulic pump.
-
A water trap must be installed at the air supply to prevent water ingress into the air/hydraulic pump.
Hydraulic Safety Measures
-
Never touch or handle a pressurized hydraulic hose or pressurized hydraulic coupler.
-
Never exceed the maximum hydraulic pressure range of 8700Psi/600Bar/60MPa.
-
When using the ram selector tap for switching the hydraulic oil supply between the 30-ton press ram and the spring compressor ensure both rams have been fully retracted first.
-
Never switch oil supply between hydraulic rams if the hydraulic circuit is pressurized.
-
Never extend the ram more than necessary.
-
Do not force the ram by holding the foot pump down for an extended period.
-
Always raise the workpiece as close to the ram as possible to minimise overstrike.
Operational Safety for Hub Press/Oil Filter Crusher
-
Always ensure that all pushing adaptors supplied for the 30-ton press ram have been fully screwed into the ram output shaft to provide lateral stability and prevent damage to the ram output shafts internal threads.
-
We recommended keeping a pair of Vernier calipers on hand to measure bearing races and bushing diameters to enable correct fit selection of the tooling for removal applications.
-
When using the adaptor sleeves always choose combinations that interlock to provide stability during bearing/hub replacements.
-
Always close the safety cage doors during pressing operations.
-
Do not make changes to any of the adaptors/tooling provided.
-
Only suited for most passenger and light commercial vehicles.
Operational Safety for Spring Compressor
- Use only adapters & attachments supplied with your Workshop Mate Workstation spring compressor.
- Always measure the spring outer diameter when choosing to use the coil adaptors, do not exceed the adaptors diameter capacity.
- Always measure the spring’s coil diameter when choosing to use the coil grab adapters, do not exceed the grab adaptors diameter capacity.
- Always use the supplied cable strut/spring restraints when compressing springs.
- Only suited for most passenger and light commercial vehicles
