Product Usage Instructions

Setting up your Mikrotik Router:

  1. Step 1: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into Port 1 on the Mikrotik router. Plug the other end into LAN 1 of the ONT. If Port 1 of the ONT is in use, refer to provided details for the correct ONT Port.
  2. Step 2: Connect the supplied power cable to the router and switch it on.
  3. Step 3 Connecting by Ethernet: Connect a second Ethernet cable into the next available port on the router. Connect the other end to your computer.
  4. Connecting via Wireless: Your Mikrotik Business Router comes pre-configured with a WiFi network. To connect, select your company’s WiFi network and enter the password located at the bottom of your router.

Setting up your Mikrotik Router

WHAT IS IN THE BOX?

MikroTik Router: This router connects your devices to the internet. It keeps your internet connection secure and lets you connect devices wirelessly.

Power Adapter to supply electricity to the your router.

Ethernet Cable: This cable will connect your router to your ONT.

What is an ONT?
An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is a device that connects your business premises to the high-speed fiber-optic network. It translates the incoming signals into usable data for your computers, phones, and other devices. It’s your gateway to high-speed internet.

Where do I find my ONT?
In a business, the ONT is usually placed in a central spot, like a utility or communications closet. This makes it easy to access, keeps it secure, and helps distribute internet and communication services effectively throughout the entire business space.

GETTING SET UP

Step 1
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into Port 1 on the Mikrotik router. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into LAN 1 of the ONT.
If Port 1 of the ONT is already in use, refer to the details provided by the Customer Onboarding Team for the correct ONT Port.

Step 2
Connect the supplied power cable to the router and switch it on.

Step 3
Connecting by Ethernet
Connect a second Ethernet cable into the next available port on the router. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into your computer.

Connecting via Wireless
Mikrotik Business Routers are managed by our Now Business Support Team. A WiFi network has already been configured on your router with the following details.
Your WiFi network will be visible when viewing your available networks. To see these, click on the icon on either your mobile or computer.

  • Your Business Name
  • Business ABC example

Select your company name and enter the password found at the bottom of your new Router. It will be the first 11 characters of your Router serial number (see example below).

If you wish to modify your WiFi SSID and Password, we are happy to assist you remotely.

WiFi SSID: “Your Business Name”
Password: “First 11 Characters of router serial number”
