CALEFACTIO GMP4 Hydronic System Feeder
Specifications:
- Product: GMP4 Hydronic System Feeder
- Max Pressure: 241.32 kPa (35 PSI)
- Factory Pressure Setting: 82.5 kPa (12 PSI)
Product Usage Instructions
Installation Instructions:
- Do not install a pressure regulator or check valve between system feeder and the system.
- Ensure there is a system isolation valve to isolate the system feeder.
Operation Verification:
- Check the tank for dirt.
- Test pump operation by connecting the AC/DC adaptor to the GMP4.
- Ensure free movement of the pump/float assembly by manually lifting the float.
- Check overall unit operation by following the steps provided.
System Start-Up:
- Install the system feeder on a leveled and sturdy surface or wall mounting bracket.
- Fill the system feeder tank with the correct fluid for system operation.
- Open system isolation valve, and plug the adaptor into a wall outlet.
- Adjust system pressure using the pressure reducing valve (PRV) if needed.
Maintenance:
The GMP requires no scheduled maintenance.
FAQ:
System Pressure Below Set Point Possible Causes and Corrective Actions:
- Possible Cause: System isolation valve closed.
- Corrective Action: Open the system isolation valve.
- Possible Cause: System is unplugged.
- Corrective Action: Plug the system into the wall outlet.
- Possible Cause: No power to the system.
- Corrective Action: Make sure the AC/DC adaptor is plugged correctly.
- Possible Cause: Low liquid level in the tank.
- Corrective Action: Verify and refill the tank.
- Possible Cause: Float has stopped the pump.
- Corrective Action: Check and ensure free movement of the float.
- Possible Cause: Pressure reducing valve out of adjustment.
- Corrective Action: Adjust the PRV to the desired pressure setting.
- Possible Cause: Defective pressure gauge.
- Corrective Action: Replace the gauge if needed.
- Possible Cause: Pump motor failure.
- Corrective Action: Contact customer support for assistance or repair.
INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The GMP can be used with heating or cooling systems. It is used to maintain the system at a specific pressure. The GMP should be used to pressurize the system when it is at its lowest temperature.
- A Boyau tressé flexible
- B ¾” opening
- C By-pass valve
- D PRV
- E 24V pump
- F Liquid-filled pressure gage (0-100 PSI) G Adaptor inlet
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Do not install a pressure regulator or check valve between system feeder and
the system. Ensure that there is a system isolation valve to isolate the
system feeder.
Max pressure at 241.32 kPa (35 PSI)
Factory set at 82.5 kPa (12 PSI)
OPERATION VERIFICATION
It is important to check the proper functioning of each component before final
connection
- Make sure the tank is free of dirt.
- Check the operation of the pump. Connect the AC/DC adaptor to the connection on the right side of the GMP4.
- Check the operation of the pump/float assembly. Manually lift the float to ensure free movement.
- Check the overall operation of the unit.
- A) Connect unit to system and close system isolation valve.
- B) Plug the AC/DC adaptor to the wall outlet.
- C) Fill tank with solution mix of glycol/water – up to 50% glycol (we recommend a non-toxic propylene-based glycol).
- D) Open unit by-pass valve (pump should start) to verify that the pump works properly.
- E) Close unit circulation valve and open system isolation valve.
SYSTEM START-UP
-
Install the system feeder on a levelled and sturdy surface, or on provided wall mounting bracket.
-
Fill system feeder tank with correct fluid required for system operation.
NOTE: The pressure gauge on system feeder may indicate a different pressure than a gauge installed elsewhere in the system. This difference may be due to calibration variations, or elevation differences and is normal.
OPEN SYSTEM ISOLATION VALVE AND PLUG ADAPTOR INTO WALL OUTLET. -
If the system pressure is below the pressure reducing valve (PRV) setting, the pump will start. The pump will run until the system is pressurized to the PRV setting. The pump may cycle rapidly.
-
If a higher system pressure is required, adjust the PRV to the desired value as follows:
- A) Close the isolation valve.
- B) Loosen the lock nut.
- C) Turn the screw clockwise until the gauge displays the desired pressure.
- D) Hold the screw and tighten the lock nut. (The standard system feeder PRV can be adjusted to 35 PSI.)
-
To get to a lower pressure, open the security valve and let the pressure go down below the desired pressure. From there, follow the steps stated in #4.
MAINTENANCE
The GMP requires no scheduled maintenance.
