  • Specifications

Product Usage Instructions

  • Connecting Flex Link IR Cables
    • Connect the Flex Link IR cable to the Flex Link Port on the device.
  • To configure the cables:
    • Right-click on the unit entry in iHelp and select Configure, or enter the Flex unit’s IP address into a web browser.
    • Select Infrared in the dropdown menu on the Flex Link Cable page.
    • Choose the appropriate configuration based on the type of cable connected:
    • Single Emitter (G-IR-E): Use with a single emitter cable for short-range transmission.
    • Single Blaster (FLC-BL): Use with a single blaster cable for long-range transmission.
    • 3 Emitters (FLC-3E): Use with a cable comprising 3 emitters for multiple placements.
    • 2 Emitters, 1 Blaster (FLC-2E1B): Use with a combination cable of 2 emitters and 1 blaster.
    • Once all selections are made, click Save Configuration to apply the new settings.

Flex Link IR Cables

Getting Started

  • Once the Flex is connected to the network (see Flex Quick Starts), plug the Flex Link IR cable into the Flex Link Port.
  • To configure Flex Link IR cables, right-click on the unit entry in iHelp and select Configure, or enter the Flex unit’s IP address into a web browser to access the Flex Configuration page.
  • On the Flex Link Cable page, select Infrared in the dropdown menu, then select one of the four options corresponding to the Flex Link IR cable plugged into the Flex Link Port.
  1. Single Emitter (G-IR-E)
    • Configures the Flex to work with a single emitter (G-IR-E) cable plugged into the Flex Link Port.
    • Emitters are short-range IR transmitters designed for placement directly over the IR receiver of the controlled device with a range of roughly 1 inch (2.5 cm).
  2. Single Blaster (FLC-BL)
    • Configures the Flex to work with a single IR Blaster (FLC-BL) cable plugged into the Flex Link Port. FLC-BL cables are long-range non-visible IR transmitters with a range of 35 feet (10.5 meters). For more information, see the Quick Start Guide for the FLC-BL.
  3. 3 Emitters (FLC-3E)
    • Configures the Flex to work with the 3 emitters (FLC-3E) cable and the tri-port (FLC-T3) cable.
    • The FLC-3E cable comprises 3 joined IR emitter cables connecting into a 3.5mm mini-jack connector, which plugs into the Flex Link Port.
    • The specs and range of each IR emitter is identical to the G-IR-E cables.
  4. 2 Emitters, 1 Blaster (FLC-2E1B)
    • The FLC-2E1B cable is comprised of 2 IR emitter cables and an IR blaster cable joined into a 3.5mm mini-jack connecter, which plugs into the Flex Link Port.
    • The specs and range of each IR emitter and IR blaster are identical to the G-IR-E cable and FLC-BL cable, respectively.

Tri-port (FLC-T3)

  • The Flex Link Tri-port (FLC-T3) cable splits the Flex Link Port into three 3.5mm ports to plug in individual G-IR-E cables into each of the ports as needed, or 2 individual IR emitter cables in ports 1 and 2, and a single blaster (FLC-BL) cable into port 3.
  • The Flex should be configured depending on which cables are being used.
  • Once all selections are made, click Save Configuration to apply the new settings.
