Paddle sports can be very dangerous and physically demanding. Users of this product must be aware that this sport may result in injury or drowning. The user of this product acknowledges, understands, and assumes the risks involved in paddle sports.

WARNING:
Pay close attention to weather conditions and beware of offshore winds, underwater currents, tidal changes, and obstacles in the water, which may cause the paddle board to become unstable and can take you away from the coast and/or prevent you from getting back to shore. Check weather forecasts and obtain local knowledge of the marine environment and weather conditions before your voyage. Never use this product in stormy weather or flood conditions. Always take a form of identification with you and inform someone of your paddling route, the time and place of your departure, and your intended time and place of arrival.

INFLATION & DEFLATION

We strongly recommend that you inflate and deflate your paddleboard once before first use to familiarise yourself with the process. The inflation of your paddleboard should take 1 0-15 minutes but can take a little longer.
Valve

  1. Cap (twist to unlock)
  2. Base (partly visible)
  3. Button

Pump

  1. Handles
  2. Pump Footrest
  3. “INFLATE” Hose Adapter
  4. Switch Valve
  5. “DEFLATE” Hose Adapter
  6. Pressure Gauge
  7. Hose
  8. Valve Side Connector
  9. Pump Side Connector

Note:
The pump included in this product is a Dual Action Pump and can be used for inflation and deflation. There are two modes available when inflating your board:

  • Dual Action Mode will double the amount of air being pumped into your paddle board. Pumping will get tougher as more air is pumped into the board. To activate Double Action Mode, close the Switch Valve (see image below).
  • Single Action Mode will reduce the amount of air being pumped into the board. In Single Action Mode, it is easier to pump air so we recommend that this is activated when your board is close to full inflation. To activate Single Action Mode, remove the Switch Valve (see image below).

Inflation

  • Find a smooth, flat, and clean surface with plenty of room to unfold your board. Lay it, unfolded, with the valve facing up and the two small fins facing down.
  • Connect the pump to the hose on the “INFLATE” Hose Adapter (labeled on the top of the pump). (1)
  • Unscrew the valve cap.
  • Put the button in the “UP” position. (2)
  • NOTE: when inflating or deflating your paddleboard, push (a) and twist (b) the valve button to open or close the valve.
  • Insert the valve side connector into the valve and secure it by turning it clockwise. (3)
  • Pump until you reach the required pressure. We recommend starting with Dual Action Mode and changing to Single Action Mode as the pumping becomes difficult.

WARNING:
The correct range for this board is 7.5 – 15PSI (0.5-1 bar). Do not exceed the maximum recommended pressure.

  • Remove the connector and replace the valve cap when using the board (4)ACTIVE-ERA-AE-WS-02BU-UK-Inflatable-Stand-Up-Paddle-Board-Fig-7

NOTE:
The board should feel solid when fully inflated. Please do not apply sustained pressure to the board when on land as this may damage the small fins.

Deflation

  • Find a smooth, flat, and clean surface with enough room for your inflated board. Lay it with the valve facing up and the two small fins facing down.
  • Unscrew the valve cap.
  • Put the button into the “DOWN” position. Your board will automatically start to deflate. Please ensure your face and body are away from the valve. (1) NOTE: when inflating or deflating your paddleboard, push (a) and twist (b) the valve button to open or close the valve.
  • Once most of the air has escaped, connect the hose to the “DEFLATE” Hose Adapter on the pump (labeled on the top of the pump). (2)
  • Insert the valve side connector into the valve and tightly secure it by turning it clockwise. (3)
  • Pump the remaining air out of the board using Single Action Mode. (4)ACTIVE-ERA-AE-WS-02BU-UK-Inflatable-Stand-Up-Paddle-Board-Fig-8

ASSEMBLY

Removable Centre Fin
We recommend attaching the center fin if you are going to use the board in deep waters like the sea or a lake. Avoid using the center fin in shallow waters or white water as you risk deteriorating it.

  • Lay your board face down (with the valve facing the floor) on a smooth, flat, and clean surface (preferably when inflated).
  • Check that the fin slot is clear of any obstruction. Slide the Centre Fin into the designated slot, ensuring that the fin is pointing to the back of the board. (1)
  • Insert the Lock Pin to secure the Fin. (2)

Paddle
Your paddle is a multifunctional paddle composed of 3 sections:

  1. Blade
  2. Middle Shaft
  3. T-bar
    • Connect the Blade (1) to the Middle Shaft (2) and then to the T-bar (3).
    • Unclip the fastener to adjust the paddle to the required size from 161 to 212cm.

We recommend the paddle height to be about 1 0cm higher than the rider’s height.

Note:
Make sure the Active Era logo on the blade is facing backward when paddling. Insert the paddle blade or handle into the lock completely, until you reach the notch on the shaft. You may need to loosen or tighten the lock so that it can close tightly against the shaft. Rotate the clip of the lock clockwise to tighten the lock, and anticlockwise to loosen it.

Leash

  • For your safety, please securely attach the leash provided to your calf or ankle when using this product.
  • Secure one end to the 0-ring at the rear of the board and securely attach the Velcro strap to your calf or ankle.

Camera Mount
Your paddleboard comes with a camera mount. Simply attach your camera to the mount ready for use.

Note:
Please ensure the camera is securely attached to prevent loss or damage. Active Era takes no responsibility for the loss of cameras.

USER TIPS

Holding your board
Carry your board using the center handle by holding it sideways, under your arm, and with the fins pointing toward your body.

Note:
Grip the board tightly as the wind can catch it. Stand away from others to avoid injury when the wind picks up.

Standing on your board
We recommend kneeling on your board before standing. Slowly stand up, one foot at a time, in the center of the board. Your feet should be parallel to each other and in line with the center handle – about shoulder-width apart. Keep a slight bend in the knees and your core centered over the board.

Holding your paddle when paddle boarding

  • A common mistake when paddle boarding is to hold the paddle incorrectly.
  • Place one hand just above the middle of the paddle. Grip the top of the paddle with your other hand (seen in the picture below).
  • When holding the paddle above your head, both arms should have a slight bend.
  • When using the paddle, always ensure the paddle base is pointing forward with the Active Era logo on the blade facing backward.

CLEANING & STORAGE

CAUTION:
After use always clean your paddle board to prevent it from being damaged by sand, salt water, or sunlight. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or solvents, as this will damage the paddle board. Do not store this product in direct sunlight. Do not store this product when wet.

  • Remove the leash, center fin, and any other accessories you attached.
  • Clean the board and accessories with a soft sponge and fresh water. Do not immerse accessories such as the pump in water.
  • Ensure the board and all accessories are completely dry before packing away and storing, otherwise, mold may develop, or color may transfer onto your board.
  • Ensure that no sand or gravel remains inside the board, the hull, and the inner chambers, otherwise, this could result in abrasion or even punctures to the board during storage.
  • Deflate your board following the instructions found earlier in this manual.
  • Tightly roll it up starting from the opposite end of the valve to make sure you remove all the remaining air.
  • Ensure the Valve Button is in the “UP” position to avoid any dust entering the board and then close the Valve Cap.
  • Place the board and accessories into the provided bag.
  • Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Place out of reach of children.
