The user shall make sure that excess ties and electric cords shall be arranged in a safe way. • Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets.

  • Do not leave children alone or unattended in the area where the appliance is in use.

  • Never leave the appliance unattended while in use. Always turn the appliance off and disconnected from the power supply when not in use.

  • Do not wipe or wash the device with chemical solvents. Prior to cleaning ensure the device is off and that the batteries have been removed.

  • Do not use this appliance near water or in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or a swimming pool. Never place the appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.

  • Do not allow water or other liquids to run into the interior of the appliance, as this could create a fire and/or electrical hazard.

  • This appliance is intended for indoor household use and similar applications. Do not use outdoors.

  • Do not use the appliance while sleeping or place it near a person who is sleeping.

  • To avoid a circuit overload when using this appliance, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same electrical circuit.

  • Always plug the appliance directly into a wall socket. Avoid using extension leads where possible as they may overheat and cause a risk of fire.

  • Do not use this appliance with an external programmer, timer switch or any other device which would switch the appliance on automatically unless this has already been pre-built into the appliance by the manufacturer.

  • Do not pull on the power cord. Never move, carry, or hang the appliance by the power cord.

  • Do not kink or wrap the power cord and plug around the appliance, as this may cause the insulation to weaken or split, particularly where it enters the appliance.

  • Ensure the mains cable is fully extended before use and arrange it so that it is not in contact with any part of the appliance.

  • Examine the appliance frequently for signs of wear or damage. If there are such signs or of the appliance has been misused or does not work, contact the manufacturer for further information.

  • The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

  • Do not use by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons.

  • Do not use the appliance when folded or creased.

  • Do not cover or trap the controller under pillow, mattress, or blanket.

  • Do not place the controller under the appliance whilst in use. Heat can damage the controller.

  • Only operate the appliance with the detachable controller supplied.

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.

  • Not intended for medical use in hospital.

  • Do not use this appliance on any parts of the body that are swollen, injured, or inflamed.

CONTROLLER
This heated throw is designed to keep you warm using the heat control and timer settings on the controller.

CONTROLLER

WARNING: DO NOT leave the remote control underneath the throw, wrapped in the throw or on the throw while it is turned on.
You heated throw is fitted with overheat protection. If your controller gets too hot, the heated throw will turn off and the remote will display ‘C’. Turn the remote control off. Place the remote so that no part of it touches the blanket and  wait for it to cool down. When the blanket and remote control have cooled down you can turn the product back on again.Active Era HT 03

USING YOUR THROW

Getting Started

Ensure the remote connector is securely connected to the heated throw. (As shown above).
Note: Make sure the remote is connected to the throw before plugging it into a socket. If you see a ‘P’ error on the remote, unplug the throw from the socket, connect the throw to the remote as shown above, then plug it back in.

Turning on

  1. Plug the power lead into the closest socket.
  2. Hold the On/Off Button down for two seconds to turn the heated throw on. The timer and heating number will illuminate.
  3. Press the Temperature up and down buttons to choose your preferred heat setting.

Preheating
It is recommended for the heated throw to be preheated for at least 30 minutes before use.
Setting the correct temperature
Press the Temp button, the heat settings will change on the left of the controller display. Keep pressing the Temp button until you reach the desired heat setting. The temperature settings range from ‘1’ being the lowest to ‘10’ being the highest.
NOTE: If the heated throw runs on heat settings 5-10 for 3 hours it will automatically change to heat setting 4.
Setting a timer
When the heated throw is turned on it is automatically set on a 1-hour timer.
Press the Time button to set a timer for up to 10 hours. By continually pressing the Time button you will cycle through the time options in 1 hour increments.
Once you have reached your desired time setting, the controller will start the timer.
After the desired time has elapsed, the heated throw will switch to standby mode, show ‘- -‘ on the screen and stop generating heat.
To restart the heated throw after the timer has elapsed, press the On/Off button once to turn the unit off. Then hold down the On/Off button for 2 seconds to turn the unit on.

CLEANING YOUR HEATED THROW
WARNING: Always turn the appliance OFF, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and allow the appliance to completely cool down before handling or cleaning it.
CAUTION: Do not connect the appliance to the power supply in order to dry it. Do not dry the appliance in the sun or use an iron to dry it as this will damage the insulation layer of the appliance.
CAUTION: Do not use any abrasive cleaners or solvents, as this can damage the appliance.
• Do not attempt to clean the appliance in any other way than that detailed by the manufacturer.
Important note: The Cosi Home heated throw can be washed but NEVER dry cleaned.
Washing:

  • ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE CONTROLLER AND POWER LEAD FROM THE HEATED THROW BEFORE WASHING.
  • When hand washing, use a mild washing powder or detergent and warm water. Soak for five minutes and gently wash and rinse thoroughly in clean water.
  • For machine washing, wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 40°C.

Washing

Drying:

  • We recommend air-drying the heated throw.
  • Do not peg on the wired areas of the heated throw as this will damage the internal circuit.
  • Never wring the heated throw out.
  • Always ensure the heated throw is 100% dry and has returned to its original size before use.

Storage (For long term storage):

  • Remove the power cable from the power socket.
  • Remove connector two from connector one.
  • Allow the heated pad to cool down before folding.
  • Do not crease the heated pad by placing items on top of it during storage.
  • Cover the heated pad, heated pad cover, controller and power cable with a water proof covering.
  • Store in a safe, dry place, out of reach of children.
  • Examine the appliance frequently and prior to use after storage.
  • To store your product, we recommend using the original or a similar-sized box.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I leave my throw to heat up before I use it?

• Yes, you can leave your throw to heat up before use. If you leave your throw at any point while it is turned on, please leave it completely open on a flat surface. CAUTION: Do not leave your throw folded or crumpled, whilst it is turned on.

My throw’s remote control is displaying ‘C’, ‘E’, or ‘P’, what does this mean?

• Please refer to the ‘Error Codes’ section of this manual.

My heated throw got wet, what do I do?

• Disconnect the controller and power lead from the heated throw. Refer to the ‘Cleaning Your Heated Throw’ section of this manual.

ERROR CODES

ERROR CODE CAUSE SOLUTION
C The controller has been placed under the throw and it has  overheated. As a
safety measure, the heated throw has turned off. Turn the controller OFF,

unplug the heated throw, lay it down  completely flat and leave to cool down.
E| The throw has been used while folded or crumpled and it has  overheated. As a safety measure, the heated throw has turned off.| Turn the controller OFF, unplug the heated throw, lay it down  completely flat and leave to cool down.
P| The controller is not properly connected to the throw.| Unplug the throw from the socket, make sure the remote connector is properly connected to the throw (see getting started section), and then plug the throw back into the socket.

This symbol on the product and/or packaging indicates that Waste Electrical products (WEEE) under Directive 2012/19/EU which governs used electrical and electronic appliances, should not be disposed of with general household waste.
