Before You Start
This manual contains essential installation and startup instructions. Read the
complete heater manual and all safety warnings before commencing
installations. Visit jandy.com for copies of all manuals.

FOR YOUR SAFETY This product must be installed and serviced by a contractor
who is licensed and qualified in pool equipment by the jurisdiction in which
the product will be installed where such state or local requirements exist,
the maintainer must be a professional with sufficient experience in pool
equipment installation and maintenance so that all of the instructions in this
manual can be followed exactly. Before installing this product, read and
follow all warning notices and instructions that accompany this product.
Failure to follow warning notices and instructions may result in property
damage, personal injury, or death. Improper installation and/or operation may
void the warranty. Improper installation and/ or operation can create carbon
monoxide gas and flue gases which can cause serious injury, property damage,
or death. For indoor installations, as an additional measure of safety, Zodiac
Pool Systems LLC strongly recommends installation of suitable carbon monoxide
detectors in the vicinity of this appliance and in any adjacent occupied
spaces. Improper installation and/or operation may void the warranty.
Operating Modes:
Pool or spa will heat only when the filtration system is running, the measured temperature is below the setpoint, and the control has been turned ON for either POOL or SPA as indicated by a white LED above either the POOL or SPA button.
Normal Operation:
- Choose POOL or SPA. Each has it’s own setpoint temperature.
- The setpoint temperature may be raised or lowered using the UP or DOWN arrow buttons.
User Set-up Mode:
With the unit OFF, press and hold MENU for 5 seconds. Use UP /DOWN arrow keys
to navigate the functions. The ENTER key selects the highlighted option. The
MENU button reverts back to the prior selection or exits out of the Setup
Mode. User Set-up Functions:
- Bluetooth. Allows user to clear the paired devices (service professional app)
- Language Selection. Select English, Spanish or French.
- Temperature Scale. Select Fahrenheit or Celcius scale.
- Spa Timer. Provides automatic shut down of spa operation with a countdown timer
- Display Lighting. Controller backlight can be set to ON, OFF, or to SHUT OFF after a 2 minute delay. Refer to the heater installation and operation manual.
Optional Remote Set-up:
An optional control can be installed remotely with 22AWG 4 conductor wire up to 300’. The additional control can be wired in a pool house or in the home. All wiring must be done in accordance with applicable local and National codes and requirements. Remote TSTAT
- Wire as shown in Figure 2.
- Enter Service Set-Up mode. Choose Remote
- Use UP/DOWN arrows to toggle: ‘STANDALONE’, ‘HI-LO-COM’, or ‘REMOTE T-STAT’. For 2-wire connection choose ’REMOTE T-STAT’.
- Press ENTER to save selection. Press MENU to exit Service Set-Up mode. Press POOL or SPA button, then UP arrow key to raise spa temperature set point to maximum (104°F). Control will indicate either Pool or Spa enabled and flash REMOTE T-STAT ENABLED.
AquaLink® RS 485
- Wire as shown in Figure 3, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM RED, BLACK, YELLOW, AND GREEN.
- Display shows RS485 ONLINE PUSH MENU TO DISABLE. The heater control panel is now disabled.
- To temporarily use the heater controls, press MENU and all functionality will return to the heater control.
- To return functionality to the RS remote, press MENU, POOL, AND SPA for 5 seconds to enter the Service Set-up mode and select Remote RS485.
Service Set-up Mode
With the unit in standby, press and hold the MENU, POOL, and SPA buttons
simultaneously for 5 seconds.
The UP / DOWN arrow keys toggle between the different functions. The ENTER key
SELECTS various options within the functions. The MENU key reverts back to the
prior screen or exits out of the Setup Mode and returns to ‘standby’.

- Remote
- Versaflo Bypass
- Louver
- Load Defaults
- Water Temperature Calibration
- Water Temperature Differential
- Statistics
- Address
- Clear Latch Fault (when present)
- Self Diagnostics
- Last Fault
- Heat Estimate*
- Allows you to reset the heat up averages stored in the heater for both pool and spa modes.
Set Point Lockout
Make sure the control is in the ON mode (POOL or SPA), press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 7 seconds. The set point will be locked and the control will operate in the mode it was in when the Set Point Lockout occurred. If an attempt to change the set point is made while the control is in Set Point Lockout, the control will display LOCKED. To unlock the Set Point Lockout, press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons for 7 seconds.
Example of Set-Up for Remote Tstat Control
- With the Control set to OFF, switch to the Service Setup menu by pressing and holding the MENU, POOL, and SPA buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
- Press the DOWN button until the screen reads REMOTE. To return to a previous screen any time, press MENU.
- When REMOTE is displayed, press the ENTER button.
- Press either the UP or DOWN button to change the display to HI-LO-COM (3 wire) or Remote T-STAT (2 wire connection).
- Press ENTER to select. A message will pop up to confirm the remote mode was changed.
- Press MENU to exit Service Setup and return to the heater control screen.
