Important Safety Precautions
WARNING: For your safety, the information in this manual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, and to prevent property damage, personal injury, or death.
PROPER INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
This dishwasher must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used. If you did not receive an Installation Instructions guide with your dishwasher, you can download a copy by visiting our website at www.whynter.com.
- Connect the dishwasher/appliance to a grounded met-al, permanent wiring system; or run an equipment-grounding conductor with the circuit conductors and connect to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead of the appliance.
- Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your dishwasher unless it is specifically recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to the manufacturer.
- Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the appliance is properly ground-ed.
- To minimize the possibility of electric shock, disconnect this appliance from the power supply before at-tempting any maintenance.
- Dispose of discarded appliances and shipping or packing material properly.
NOTE: Turning the dishwasher off does not disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
WHEN USING YOUR DISHWASHER, FOLLOW BASIC PRECAUTIONS, INCLUDING THE
FOLLOWING:
- Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner’s Manual.
- Use only detergents or drying agents recommended for use in a dishwasher and keep them out of reach of children. Using a detergent that is not specifically de-signed for dishwashers will cause the dishwasher tofill with suds.
- Locate sharp items away from the door seal to avoid damage.
- Load sharp knives with the handles up to reduce the risk of cut-type injuries.
- Do not wash plastic items unless marked dishwasher-safe or the equivalent.
- Do not touch the heating element during or immediately after use.
- Do not operate your dishwasher unless all enclosure panels are properly in place.
- Do not tamper with controls.
- Do not abuse, sit on or stand on the door or dishrack of the dishwasher.
- To reduce the risk of injury, do not allow children to play with, on or inside this appliance at any time.
- Do not store or use combustible materials including gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- Small parts, such as rack clips and filter retaining posts, can be a choke hazard to small children if removed from the dishwasher. Keep out of reach of small children.
WARNING: WATER HEATER SAFETY
Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used for two or more weeks.
HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.
If the hot water has not been used for two or more weeks, prevent the possibility of damage or injury by turning on all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes. Do this before using any electrical appliance con-nected to the hot water system. This simple procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not smoke, use an open flame, or use the appliance during this process.
RISK OF CHILD ENTRAPMENT PROPER DISPOSAL OF THE DISHWASHER
An empty dishwasher can be dangerous for children and small animals. If disposing of the dishwasher, remove door gasket, latch, and the entire dishwasher door from your unused appliance so that children or small animals cannot be trapped inside.
TO PREVENT MINOR INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE
- During or after wash cycle, contents may be hot to the touch. Use care before handling.
- Non-Dishware Items: Do not wash items such as electronic air cleaner filters, furnace filters and paintbrushes in your dishwasher. Damage to the dish-washer and discoloration or staining of the dish washer may result.
- Close supervision is necessary if this appliance is used by or near children. Do not allow children to play around the dishwasher when closing the door, or while adjusting the basket due to the possibility of small fingers being pinched.
- Load light-weight, dishwasher-safe plastic items so they do not become dislodged and drop at the bottom of the dishwasher—they might come into contact with the spray arms and heating element and be dam-aged.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This appliance must be supplied with 120V, 60 Hz, and connected to an individual, properly grounded branch circuit, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.
- Your dishwasher circuit should not be used for any other appliance while the dishwasher is in operation as the dishwasher requires the full capacity of the circuit.
- If the electric supply provided does not meet theabove specifications, it is recommended that a li-censed electrician install an approved outlet.
NOTICE:
- If you dishwasher is connected to a wall switch, ensure that the switch is on prior to use.
- If you choose to turn the wall switch off between wash cycles, allow 5-10 seconds after turning the switch on before touching Start to allow the control to initialize.
EXTENSION CORD
Because of potential safety hazards, it is strongly recommended that you do not use an extension cord with this appliance. However, if you must use an extension cord, it is absolutely necessary that it be a UL/CUL-Listed, 3-wire grounding type appliance extension cord having a grounding type plug and outlet and that the electrical rating of the cord be 15 amperes and 115 volts. Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire, electric shock, or death.
OTHER GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

- To clean, use only mild detergents. Never use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning, transporting, or if not in use.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- Use the appliance only for its intended function. This appliance is designed for household, non-commercial use only. Any other use will void the warranty.
- Do not plug this appliance into the power source be-fore setup is completed.
- This unit is an electrical appliance. To avoid serious injury from electrical shock, do not operate with wet hands, while standing on a wet surface, or while standing in water.
- To avoid the risk of shock, the product should never be used in bathrooms, shower rooms, or in any other steamy or wet areas.
- During installation, the power supply must not be excessively or dangerously bent or flattened.
- Make sure the power plug is placed fully and firm into the power source. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by atime delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install an outlet that is appropriate to local electrical codes and requirements.
- Do not use multiple socket or an extension cord as it may overheat and become a risk of fire. Please ensure that the dishwasher is plugged directly into the electrical outlet.
- The cord should be secured behind the unit and should not be left exposed or dangling.
- Make sure the power plug is clean before usage.
- The appliance is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug on the power cord for your protection. Never modify, remove or attempt to repair the power plug yourself.
- Never pull the power cord to disconnect the unit from an outlet. Grasp the plug directly and pull it from the outlet.
- Never lift or carry the dishwasher by the power cord.
- Do not abuse, sit on, or stand on the appliance.
- Do not place items or sit/stand on top of the dish-washer
- Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
- Transport the appliance in an upright position only.
- Close the appliance door when not in use.
- Place your appliance on a hard and level floor that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded.
- Do not turn the dishwasher upside down, on its side or 45° or more off level.
- Keep fingers out of the “pinch point” areas; clearances between the doors and between the doors and cabinet are necessarily small. Be careful closing doors when children are in the area
- Do not move the dishwasher without securing the door in a closed and latched position.

Installation Instructions
Unpacking the Dishwasher
Use at least two people to move and install the dishwasher to prevent back and other types of injuries. Carefully remove the packaging materials. Remove any shipping tape and glue from your dishwasher before using. Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your dishwasher. Check to make sure the parts necessary for installation are included. If any parts are missing, please contact our customer service team. Put the dishwasher on a level and flat surface that is able to support the entire weight of the dishwasher fully loaded.
Installation Requirements
The dishwasher is designed for a countertop installation. Please follow the instructions for clearance, water and electrical requirements.
Clearance Requirements
The minimum height clearance required to install your dishwasher on a counter top surface with overhead cupboards is 45cm (17.7”).
Water Requirements
Make sure the water supply connection is within reach of the inlet and drain hose assembly (i.e., 58 cm / 22.8”). If using a kitchen sink faucet, an adapter will be required to connect the water supply inlet hose. If using a sink that has a spray wand, it is recommended that the hose be disconnected and the hole plugged.
Water Temperature
For best results, the water temperature must be at least 55ºC (130ºF). To prevent damage to the dishwasher, the temperature of the incoming water supply should not exceed 65ºC (149ºF).
Electrical Requirements
Read all safety precautions listed at the beginning of this manual. It is recommended that you use receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
Electrical Connection
Ensure the voltage and frequency of the power source being used corresponds to those on the rating plate. Only insert the plug into an electrical socket which is earthed properly. If the only available electrical socket the appliance can be connected to is not compatible with the the prong plug, replace the socket, rather than using an adapter or the like as they could cause overheating and safety issues.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be earthed. In the event of a malfunction or break-down, earthing will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-earthing conductor and an earthing plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and earthed in accordance with all local standards and requirements.
WARNING: DO NOT LET CHILDREN DISCONNECT THE DISHWASHER; CLOSE SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT AROUND APPLIANCES.
NOTE: Hard water conditions will adversely affect the washing performance of your dishwasher. Hard water conditions will also contribute to ‘lime’ (white film substance) deposits and/or ‘scaling’ on the stainless steel surface of the dishwasher tub and heater element, located in the sump underneath the removable filter screen. To assist in minimizing these conditions, it is recommended to periodically operate/ rinse the inside of the dishwasher while empty using 1 cup of white vinegar at least once a week.
Water Supply Inlet Connection
Cold water connection Connect the water supply inlet hose to a threaded
3/4(inch) connector and make sure that it is fastened tightly in place. If the
water pipes are new or have not been used for an extended period of time, let
the water run to make sure that the water is clear and free of impurities. If
this precaution is not taken, there is a risk that the water inlet can get
blocked and damage the dish washer.
Note: If the supplied hose does not fit your water supply, please contact
your local plumbing supply center where adapters are available for purchase or
a plumber for assistance.
WARNING! Please close the faucet after using.
- Screw the faucet adapter onto the faucet tap. Check for leaks (use Teflon tape to eliminate leaking if necessary or for extra protection).
- Connect the drain hose to the drain port connection on the back of the dishwasher cabinet. Do not overtighten (to avoid damage to the threads).
- Connect the inlet hose connection to the inlet port on the back of the dishwasher cabinet. Do not overtighten (to avoid damage to the threads).
- Connect the circular connection of the inlet hose connection onto the shorter (top) male connection.
- Slowly open the hot water line and check for any sign of water leaks at all hose connections. If leaks are located, immediately close the water supply and repair the hose connections.
IMPORTANT:
Once you open the water supply line, (even if it is closed immediately
thereafter), the inlet hose will be pressurized.
To relieve water pressure from inside the inlet hose, make sure the water line (faucet) is closed.
DANGER: DO NOT LET CHILDREN DISCONNECT THE DISHWASHER; CLOSE SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT AROUND APPLIANCES.
Note : If not in use, the the dishwasher may be disconnected from the faucet.
Disconnect and store your dishwasher
- Turn off and unplug the dishwasher.
- Turn off water supply faucet. Remove water supply inlet connection from faucet.
- Drain excess water from the water supply inlet connection. If the sink is 34” or higher from the floor, the excess water in the hoses cannot be drained directly into the sink. It will be necessary to drain excess water from hoses into a bowl or suitable container that is held.
- Set aside the water supply inlet connection and hoses.
Store the dishwasher
- Latch the dishwasher door closed.
- Place the dishwasher into its preferred storage location.
CHECK BEFORE FIRST USE
The following things should be checked before starting the dishwasher.
- The dishwasher is level.
- There is no leakage at the connections.
- The power is switched on.
- The inlet and drain hoses are not knotted to prevent restrictions.
- All packing materials and manual should be removed from the dishwasher.
Using the dishwasher
A. Function of Detergent
Proper Use of Detergent
Detergents with chemical ingredients are necessary to remove dirt, crush dirt
and transport it out of the dish-washer. Use only detergent specifically made
for use in dishwashers. Keep your detergent fresh and dry. Do not put powder
detergent into the dispenser until you are ready to wash dishes.
The amount of detergent to use depends on whether your water is hard or soft.
With hard water, you need extra detergent to alleviate the deposits that are
left by the excessive minerals. Less detergent is needed for soft wa-ter.
To identify whether your water is hard or soft, contact your water department.
A water softener is recommended for water that contains twelve or more grains.
Without it, lime can build up in the water valve, which could stick while open
and cause flooding. Too much detergent with soft water can cause a permanent
cloudiness of glass-ware, called etching.
NOTE:
Grains – in terms of water hardness measurement, refer to the unit of weight
that is equivalent to 1/7000th of a pound.
For heavily soiled loads, use the HEAVY WASH Cycle, fill one or both of the
interior cups, depending on the hardness of your water, and also fill the open
cup on the dispenser lid. Use the information in the table below as a
guideline to determine the amount of automatic dishwasher detergent to place
in the dispenser:
Number of Grains | Detergent Cups to Fill |
---|---|
Less than 4 | 15g (B) |
4 to 8 | 25g (C) |
8 to 12 | B and C |
Greater than 12 | A (open cup), B, and C |
Detergent Tablets
Detergent tablets of different brands dissolve at different speeds. For
this reason some detergent tablets cannot dissolve and develop their full
cleaning power during short programs. Therefore please use long programs when
using detergent tablets, to ensure the complete removal of detergent
residuals.
Detergent Dispenser
The detergent dispenser must be filled before the start of each washing cycle
following the instructions provided in the Wash Cycle Table. Your countertop
dishwasher uses less detergent and rinse aid than a conventional dishwasher.
Generally, only one tablespoon of detergent is needed for a normal wash load.
Also, more heavily soiled items need more detergent. Always add the detergent
just before starting the dishwasher, otherwise it could get damp and will not
dissolve properly.
Filling in Detergent
Note:
- Push latch to open the detergent dispenser lid.
- Add liquid detergent, powder detergent or detergent tablet.
- Always add the detergent just before starting each wash cycle.
- Only use branded detergent aids for dishwashers.
Amount of Detergent to Use
Fill the detergent dispenser with detergent. Close the lid and press until it
locks in place.
The marking indicates the dosing levels, as illustrated on right.
A – dispenser can load 5g detergent (open cup)
B – dispenser can load 15g detergent
C – dispenser can load 25g detergent
Note:
- Please be aware that the level of soiling and the specific hard-ness of water differences are possible.
- Check the manufacturer’s recommendations on the detergent packaging.
DO NOT USE HANDWASHING DISH DETERGENT!
Using a detergent that is not specifically designed for dish-washers will
cause the dishwasher to fill with suds. During op-eration, these suds will
spill out of the dishwasher which may cause overflow.
B. Fill the Rinse Aid Dispenser
Function of Rinse Aid
Rinse aids are designed for great drying action and to protect against spots
and film build-up on your dishes, glasses, flatware, cookware, and plastic.
Rinse Aid Dispenser
The rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water from forming
droplets on your dishes. It also im-proves drying by allowing water to sheet
off the dishes. Your dishwasher is designed to use liquid rinse aids. The
rinse aid dispenser is located on the inside of the door next to the detergent
dispenser.
When to Refill the Rinse Aid Dispenser
If there is no rinse aid warning light in the control panel, you can judge the
amount of rinse aid by the color of the optical level indicator located next
to the cap. When the rinse aid container is full, the whole indicator will be
dark. As the rinse aid diminishes, the size of the dark dot decreases.
CAUTION: Only use branded rinse aids for dishwashers. Never fill the
rinse aid dispenser with any other substances
(e.g. Dishwasher cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This may damage the
appliance.
NOTE: If water spots are not visible and you are satisfied with the
drying results, using a rinse aid is optional.
As the rinse aid diminishes, the size of the black dot on the rinse aid level indicator changes, as illustrated below. The volume of the rinse aid container is about 110ml.
- Full
- 3 / 4 full
- 1 / 2 full
- 1 / 4 full – Should refill to eliminate spotting
- Empty
Filling the Rinse Aid Dispenser
- To open the dispenser, turn the cap to the “open” (left) arrow and lift it out.
- Pour the rinse aid into the dispenser, being careful not to overfill.
- Replace the cap by inserting it aligned with “open” arrow and turning it to the closed (right) arrow.
Note: Clean up any rinse aid spilled during filling with an absorbent cloth to avoid excessive foaming during the next wash. Do not forget to replace the cap before you close dishwasher door.
Adjusting Rinse Aid
The amount of rinse aid released into the final wash can be adjusted. The
rinse aid dispenser has four settings and the recommended set-ting is on “3”.
If the dishes still are not drying properly or are spotted, adjust the rinse
aid lever to the next higher number on “4”.
NOTE:
- Increase the dose if there are drops of water or lime spots on the dishes after washing. Reduce it if there are sticky whitish stains on your dishes or a bluish film on glassware or knife blades.
- If water spots are not visible and you are satisfied with the drying results, using a rinse aid is optional.
C. Check the Water Temperature
The recommended entering water should be at least 120°F (49°C) and not more than 150°F (66°C) for effective cleaning. The water temperature can be checked using a meat thermometer.
Turn on the hot water faucet, place the thermometer in a glass and let the water run continuously into the glass until the temperature stops rising.

pans. It is not necessary to rinse the dishes under running water.
Place objects in the dishwasher in following way:
- Items such as cups, glasses, pots/pans, etc. are face down.
- Curved items, or those with recesses, should be loaded at a slant so that water can run off.
- All utensils stacked securely and can not tip over.
- All utensils placed so the spray arms can rotated freely during washing.
NOTE: Very small items should not be washed in the dishwasher as they could easily fall out of the basket.
- Dishes and silverware must not lie inside one another, or cover each other.
- To avoid damage to glasses, they must not touch.
- Load large items which are most difficult to clean into the plate rack basket.
- Long bladed knives stored in an upright position are a potential hazard.
- Please do not overload your dishwasher. This is important for good cleaning results.
Loading the Dishwasher
A properly loaded dishwasher is key for optimal performance. Overfilling or
‘messy’ loading of the dishwasher can reduce the efficiency. This counter-top
dish-washer is optimized for holding 6 place settings. Refer to the
arrangement below for optimal loading.
Position the dishes and cookware so they are secure during the wash cycle and
can-not be moved by sprayed water.
Plate racks of basket

Cleaning Baby Bottles In The Dishwasher
If your baby bottles are glass or dishwasher safe plastic then you have the
option of using the dishwasher to clean them. Just like cleaning by hand, you
will need to separate the baby bottle into its individual parts.
Placing your baby bottle lids and nipples in the dishwasher may cause them to
slip between the gaps in the tray and become destroyed . A dishwasher basket
is a great way to keep your nipples and sippy cup lids in one place.
Avoid cleaning your baby bottles with dishes that contained food capable of
staining. For example, pasta sauce can get splattered over your baby feeding
equipment during the cleaning process. The high temperature will then cause
the pigment to set, resulting in stained nipples and bottles.
Program Lock
You can lock the controls to prevent selections from being made. You can also lock the controls after you have started a cycle to prevent cycle changes. For example, children cannot accidentally start the dishwasher by pressing pads with this option selected.
Water Faucet Indicator
When the dishwasher detects that water pressure is low, the water faucet indicator will illuminate and the dishwasher will stop temporarily. Make sure that the incoming water pressure should be between 15 and 20 pounds per square inch (psi).
- Turn off dishwasher.
- Remove inlet hose from the dishwasher.
- Check water pressure.
- Once water pressure is corrected, install the inlet hose onto the dishwasher.
Rinse Aid Warning Light
When the dishwasher detects that the rinse aid dispenser needs to be refilled, the rinse aid warning indicator will illuminate. See section “B. Fill the Rinse Aid Dispenser” on pages 13-14.
Note: If water spots are not visible and satisfied with the drying results, using a rinse aid is optional.

When the washing cycle has finished, the buzzer alarm will sound for 8
seconds. Turn off the dishwasher using the ON/OFF button, shut off the water
supply and open the door of the dishwasher. Wait a few minutes before
unloading the dishwasher to avoid handling the dishes and utensils while they
are still hot and more susceptible to breakage. They will also dry better.
The dishwasher will power off automatically after 30 minutes without any
operation.
- Switch off the dishwasher by pressing the ON/OFF button.
- Turn off the water tap.
- Open the door carefully. Hot dishes are sensitive to knocks. The dishes should therefore be allowed to cool down around 15 minutes before removing from the dishwasher. Open the dishwasher’s door, leave it ajar and wait a few minutes before removing the dishes. This will allow the dishes to cool and assist in the dying process.
- Unload the dishwasher. It is normal for the dishwasher to be wet inside.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Filter System
The filter system consists of a coarse filter (A), fine filter (B) and a main
filter (C).
Coarse filter A
Larger items, such as pieces of bone or glass, that could block the drain are
trapped in the coarse filter. To remove the items caught by the filter, gently
squeeze the tap on the top of this filter and lift out.
Fine filter B
This filter holds soil and food residue in the sump area and prevents it from
being deposited on the dishes during wash cycle.
Main filter C
Food and soil particles trapped by this filter are pulverized by a special jet
on the spray arm and washed down to drain.
Filter assembly
The filter assembly efficiently removes food particles from the wash water,
allowing it to be recycled during the cycle. For best performance and results,
the filter assembly must be cleaned regularly. For this reason, it is a good
idea to remove the larger food particles trapping in the filter after each
wash cycle by rinsing the filter assembly under running water. To remove the
filter assembly, pull on the cup handle in the upward direction.
WARNING!
Never run the dishwasher without the filters in place. Improper replacement of
the filter may reduce the performance level of the appliance and damage dishes
and utensils.
Step 1: Rotate counter-clockwise the filter assembly then lift it all up.
Step 2: Lift the coarse filter (A) and fine filter (B) from the main filter (C).
Repeat all steps in reverse to replace filter assembly.
Note:
- The entire filter assembly should be cleaned once a week.
- Inspect the filters for blockage every time the dishwasher has been used.
- Remove any food remnants and clean the filters under running water.
Cleaning The Filter
To clean the coarse filter and the fine filter, use a cleaning brush.
Reassemble the filter parts and reinsert the entire assembly in the
dishwasher, positioning it in its seat and pressing downward.
Caring for the Dishwasher
- The control panel can be cleaned by using a lightly dampened cloth and dry thoroughly.
- The exterior can be cleaned using an appliance polish wax.
- Never use sharp objects, scouring pads or harsh cleaners on any part of the dishwasher.
Cleaning The Door
To clean the edge around the door, use only a soft cloth dampened with warm water. To avoid penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spray cleaner of any kind.
WARNING!
- Never use a spray cleaner to clean the door panel as it may damage the door lock and electrical components.
- Abrasive agents or some types of paper towels should not be used because of the risk of scratching or leaving spots on the stainless steel surface.
Protect Against Freezing
Please take frost protection measures on dishwasher in winter. After all washing cycles, please operate as follows:
- Unplug the dishwasher from the power source.
- Turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet pipe from the water valve.
- Drain water from the inlet pipe and water valve. (Use a pan to catch the water)
- Reconnect the water inlet pipe to the water valve.
- Remove the filter and use a sponge to absorb excess water.
Cleaning the Spray Arms
The spray arms can be easily removed for periodic cleaning of the nozzles, to
prevent possible clogging. Wash them under running water and carefully replace
them in their seats, checking that their rotary movement is in no way im-
peded. Grasp the middle of the spray arm, pull it upwards to remove it. Wash
the arms under a jet of running water and return them carefully to their seat.
After reassembly, check that the spray arms turn freely. Otherwise, check if
the sprays arms are installed correctly.
How to Keep Your Dishwasher in Shape
-
After Every Wash
After every wash, turn off the water supply to the appliance and leave the door slightly open so that moisture and odors are not trapped inside. -
Remove the Plug
Before cleaning or performing maintenance, always remove the plug from the socket. -
No Solvents or Abrasive Cleaning
To clean the exterior and rubber parts of the dishwasher, do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products. Only use a cloth with warm soapy water. To remove spots or stains from the surface of the interior, use a cloth dampened with water with a little vinegar, or a cleaning product made specifically for dishwashers. -
When it is not needed for a long time
It is recommend that you run a wash cycle with the dishwasher empty and then remove the plug from the socket, turn off the water supply and leave the door of the appliance slightly open. This will help the door seal to last longer and prevent odors from forming within the appliance. -
Moving the Appliance
If the appliance must be moved, try to keep it in the vertical position. If absolutely necessary, it can be posi-tioned on its back. -
Door Seal
One of the factors that cause odors to form in the dishwasher is food that remains trapped in the seal. Peri-odic cleaning with a damp sponge will prevent this from occurring.
Troubleshooting Tips
Many common upright dishwasher problems are easily resolved. Try the troubleshooting suggestions below to see if the problems can be resolved before having to contact the service department.
Problem | Possible Causes | What To Do | |
---|---|---|---|
Fuse blown, or the circuit breaker tripped.
| Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker. Re- move any other appliances sharing
the same circuit with the dishwasher.
|
Dishwasher does not start
|
Power supply is not turned on.
| Make sure the dishwasher is turned on and the door is closed securely.
Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into the wall socket.
Technical
problems
| | Door of dishwasher not properly closed.| Closed dishwasher making sure
that door latches.
| | Kink in drain hose.| Check drain hose.
| |
Filter clogged.
| Check the coarse filter (see section titled ” Cleaning The Filter “)
| Water not pumped from dishwasher| | Check kitchen sink to make sure it is
drain- ing well.
If problem is kitchen sink not draining, you may need a professional plumber rather than a serviceman for dishwasher.
Problem | Possible Causes | What To Do | |

The dishes were not loaded cor- rectly. | See notes in ” Loading the |
Dishwasher Baskets “.
| | The program was not long enough.| Select a more intensive program. See”
Wash Cycle Table “.
| | Not enough detergent was dis- pensed| Use more detergent, or change your
deter- gent.
| The dishes are not clean| Item are blocking the path of spray arms.|
Rearrange the items so that the spray can rotate freely.
Unsatisfactory washing result| | The filter combination in the base of
wash cabinet is not clean or
is not correctly fitted. This may cause the spray arm jets to get blocked.
| Clean and/or fit the filter combination cor- rectly.
Clean the spray arm jets. See “Cleaning the Spray Arms”.

Cloudiness on glassware
|
Combination of soft water and too much detergent.
|
Use less detergent if you have soft water and select a shortest cycle to wash the glassware and to get them clean.
|
Black or gray marks on dishes
| Aluminum utensils have rubbed against dishes.| Use a mild abrasive cleaner
to eliminate those marks.
| Detergent left in dispenser cups| Dishes block detergent cups.| Re-loading
the dishes properly.
| Problem| Possible Causes| What To Do
---|---|---|---
| |
Improper loading
|
Load the dishwasher as suggested in the
| |
Too little rinse aid
| Increase the amount of rinse aid/ refill the rinse aid dispenser.
| |
Dishes are removed too soon.
|
Do not empty your dishwasher immediately after washing. Open the door slightly so
that the steam can escape. Begin unloading the dishwasher only once t he dishes are barely warm to the touch. Empty the low basket first. This prevents water form drop- ping off dishes in the upper basket.
Unsatisfactory drying result|
The dishes are not drying

Wrong program selection
| In short program the washing temperature is lower. This also lowers cleaning
perfor- mance. Choose a program with a long washing time.

Using silverware with a low- quality coating
|
Water drainage is more difficult with these items. Silverware or dishes of this type are not suitable for washing in the dishwasher.
