IMPORTANT
Install the driver for your printer.
The driver MUST be installed before connecting the printer to the computer, or it will cause complications. If your Microsoft Windows-based computer does not have the driver installed for this printer, download it from zebra.com /zd888ta-info or zebra.com/zd230ta- info and install it before continuing
Verify that you have the items shown.
Parts Description
Labels and Ribbons are not included
Set up printer
Connect the power supply. (If needed, connect the two parts of the power supply.)
Connect the USB cable to the printer.
Load Media
NOTE: To print using direct thermal only, make sure you adjust the print model via the Printer Driver or Zebra Setup Utility.
Remove and discard the outer layer.
Load Ribbon
- Insert the ribbon take-up core on the top spindles. Load the ribbon on the lower spindles.
- Pull the ribbon leader forward, and attach it to the take-up core. Wind the media around the take-up spindle.
Power On and Print
- Press the POWER switch to turn on. The light on top of the printer will cycle.
- Printer is ready when the status light is green
- Perform Media Calibration
- Test Print Configuration Report
NOTE: If the print quality is not good, check the darkness setting, the media type, or the ribbon type or clean the printhead.
