ZHIYUN CX100 COB Light

Product Usage Instructions

Charging

It is recommended to charge the CINEPEER CX100 when the light is turned off. Use a USB adapter and cable that support the PD fast charging protocol with a power greater than 100W.

Charging via USB Adapter

1. Connect the USB adapter to an AC power source (100-240V).
2. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the CINEPEER CX100 and the USB adapter.

Charging via DC Power Adapter

1. Connect the DC power adapter to the DC charging port of the CINEPEER CX100.
2. Connect the AC power socket to charge the CINEPEER CX100.

Installing Modifiers

1. Installing: Align the reflector mount with the accessory mount of the CINEPEER CX100, then rotate it until you hear a click.
2. Removing: Push the buckle of the reflector inward and simultaneously rotate it to remove it.

Installing and Removing the Diffusion Dome

1. Installing: Fit the ring-shaped groove of the diffusion dome onto the end of the reflector to complete the installation.
2. Removing: Simply remove the diffusion dome from the reflector by hand.

FAQ

Q: Can I use any battery with the CINEPEER CX100?

A: No, it is strictly prohibited to use batteries not provided by ZHIYUN with the CINEPEER CX100 for safety reasons.

Q: How do I know if the CINEPEER CX100 is charging?

A: The battery level/charging indicator lights on the device will show the charging status.

• CINEPEER CX100 is a high-power, portable fill light that supports brightness/color temperature adjustment.

• WARNING This product is not waterproof. Prevent contact with any kind of liquid with the CINEPEER CX100 COB Light. Never use the product in the rain or a humid environment.
• If water accidentally enters the device when using it, please stop using it immediately contact the company or authorized maintenance personnel for maintenance, and continue to use it only when the maintenance is finished.
• Do not expose this product to corrosive chemicals, or inflammable and explosive materials.
• Do not touch the heating part when the product is working to avoid getting burned.
• Do not wrap or block the fans to avoid cooling effect damage.
• Do not turn the product directly to the eyes to avoid eyesight damage.
• Do not expose this product to an environment above 40℃ .

Battery safety precautions:

1. It is strictly prohibited to use batteries that are not provided by ZHIYUN. If you need to replace the battery, please contact ZHIYUN or designated agents. ZHIYUN will not be responsible for any battery accidents or equipment malfunctions caused by using batteries that are not officially provided by ZHIYUN.
2. If the battery bulges, leaks, or has other abnormalities, please stop using it immediately and contact ZHIYUN customer service or designated agents for further processing.
3. Do not completely discharge the battery and store it for a long time to prevent the battery from entering an over-discharged state and causing damage to the battery cell, which may make it impossible to recover and reuse.

BE CAREFUL

1. This product is a high-precision control device. Damage may be caused to the product if dropped or subject to external force, and this may result in malfunction.
2. Please keep your hands dry while using the product and use a soft dry cloth for cleaning.
3. Keep this product out of the reach of children.
4. When not using this product, please disconnect the external power supply.
5. Do not place any other items on top of this product to avoid damage to this product.
6. Protect the product from dust and sand during use.
7. Before storing this product, please make sure it is completely cooled and store it in a dry and ventilated place.
8. Do not disassemble this product on your own. In the event of malfunctions, it should be repaired by ZHIYUN or authorized maintenance personnel.

Get to Know CINEPEER CX100

Charging

The product adopts a built-in battery. When using it for the first time, please activate the battery by fully charging it to ensure proper function.

1. Charging via USB adapter: Use the provided USB Type-C cable (60W) to connect the fill light to a USB adapter (not provided).
   • It is recommended to use a USB adapter that supports the PD (Power Delivery) fast charging protocol.
   • When charging while using the fill light, the USB adapter will prioritize powering the fill light, and the remaining power will be used to charge the battery. The maximum PD charging power supported by the battery is 30W.
   • It is recommended to charge CINEPEER CX100 when the light is turned off.
   • When using while charging, it is recommended to use a USB adapter and USB cable that support the PD fast charging protocol and have a power greater than 100W.
2. Charging via DC power adapter: Connect the DC power adapter to the DC charging port of the CINEPEER CX100 and the AC power socket to charge the CINEPEER CX100.
   • It is recommended to use a 24V/5A DC power adapter to charge the CINEPEER CX100.

Installing and Removing the Reflector

Installing

• Align the reflector mount with the accessory mount of the CINEPEER CX100, then mount the reflector onto the CINEPEER CX100 and rotate it in the direction shown until you hear a “click”.
• The reflector buckle will automatically lock, indicating that the installation is complete.

Removing

• Push the buckle of the reflector inward ① and simultaneously rotate the reflector inward ②, then remove the reflector from the accessory slot ③ .

Installing and Removing the Diffusion Dome

Installing

Install the reflector to the diffusion dome, unfold the diffusion dome to the state shown in the figure, align the opening of the diffusion dome with the reflector, and then fit the ring-shaped groove of the diffusion dome onto the end of the reflector to complete the installation.

Removing

• You can simply remove the diffusion dome from the reflector by hand.
• Align the 1/4-inch screw at the top of the tripod with the 1/4-inch screw hole at the bottom of the CINEPEER CX100. Then, mount the CINEPEER CX100 onto the tripod.
• The tripod is not provided.
• Align the 1/4-inch screw hole at the bottom of the CINEPEER CX100 with the 1/4-inch screw at the top of the light stand. Then, attach the CINEPEER CX100 to the light stand.
• A light stand is not provided.

How to Use CINEPEER CX100

• DO NOT stare at the LED chips when the device is operating.
• The IP rating of the outer case is IP20.

Buttons and Dials

• Single press the power button+press and hold the power button+turn the brightness adjustment dial:
• Turn on the light (when powered by built-in battery/USB)
• Single press power button+press and hold power button:
• Turn on the light (when powered by DC)
• Power Button:
  • Long press: Power off
• Color Temperature Adjustment Dial:
  • Turn: Adjust color temperature
• Brightness Adjustment Dial:
  • Turn: Adjust brightness

1. When powering on, turn the brightness adjustment dial until all four indicator lights are on; only then can the CX100 be turned on.
2. After the CX100 is powered on, if the brightness is set to 0%, it will automatically turn off after 2 minutes.

Operation Instruction

1. Single press and then press and hold the power button and turn the brightness adjustment dial to turn on the CINEPEER CX100. At this time, the battery level/charging indicator lights show the remaining battery level.
2. Turn the brightness adjustment dial to adjust the brightness value of the light. Turn the color temperature adjustment dial to adjust the color temperature value. Please set the appropriate brightness/color temperature value according to your actual use.

Firmware Upgrade

You can use“Zhiyun Led Tools” to perform the CINEPEER CX100 firmware upgrade.

The steps are as follows:

1. Visit the official website of ZHIYUN (www.zhiyun-tech.com), go to the CINEPEER CX100 product page, click “Download”, find the Zhiyun Led Tools and the firmware, and download.
2. Unzip the firmware for the files with the “.ptz” file extension.
3. Connect the USB-C port of CINEPEER CX100 to the USB port of the computer with the USB Type-C cable.
4. Open “Zhiyun Led Tools”, click “Open”, and click “Firmware Upgrade”. Click “Browse” under “Path” to select the latest firmware downloaded (with the “.ptz” file extension), and click “Upgrade” at the bottom to upgrade firmware. CINEPEER CX100 will automatically turn off when the upgrade is finished.

The actual charging time may vary due to different environmental conditions.
