EXOTON S-1203 Active Column system
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no
objects with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. The
MAINS plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall
remain readily operable.
Warning : the user shall not place this apparatus in the area during the
operation so that the mains switch can be easily accessible.
- Read these instructions before operating this apparatus.
- Keep these instructions for future reference.
- Heed all warnings to ensure safe operation.
- Follow all instructions provided in this document.
- Do not use this apparatus near water or in locations where condensation may occur.
- Clean only with dry cloth. Do not use aerosol or liquid cleaners. Unplug this apparatus before cleaning.
- Do not block any of the ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plug, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Refer all servicing to service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- Unplug this apparatus during lighting storms or when unused for long periods of time.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus
to rain or moisture.
CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other
than those may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Portable Column System
The S-1203 is designed to deliver a significant step up in all-around
performance for a column system in its size/cost category. The system includes
a speaker array, two array extensions, an array and a travel bag , and a 12″
powered subwoofer. All of these are designed for quick packaging and assembly,
that looks great on the stage, and be able to stand the actual wear and tear.
Applications
It is an outstanding choice for any application that needs a simple, portable,
and lightweight system with extraordinary connectivity, control, coverage and
output. For events such as party、stage、wedding, the mixer allows the system to
support the various mics and inputs required for participants, musicians, and
background music, all of which have enough power to populate the DJ set or
live performance of the dance floor.

Assembling the System
Before connecting the system to a power source, assemble the system using the array extension and mid-high array.
- Insert the array extension into the subwoofer plug.
- Insert the mid-high array into the array extension.
The S-1203 Portable Line Array System is equipped with two chain array extension of different lengths. The longer array exten-sion is better suited for outdoor, while the shorter array extension is more suitable for indoor.
DSP PRESET
To choose your system DSP, rotate the DSP PRESET button until the LED
corresponding to your desired DSP lights up in green. You can select from
various options including NORMAL, DJ, VOICE, LIVE, and FLAT. Your chosen DSP
will remain selected even after powering off and on the S-1203.
Note: The system DSP affects subwoofer/mid-high array audio only. System DSP
does not affect XLR Line Output audio.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your device.
- Press and hold the Bluetooth Pair Button for three seconds.
- The S-1203 will appear in the device list on your device. Select your S-1203 from the device list.
When the device successfully pairs, the LED will light up in blue.
Note : While using the system, you may hear certain notifications. To avoid this, disable notifications on your connected device. To prevent call/message notifications from interrupt-ing audio, enable airplane mode.
Care & Maintenance
Cleaning Your S-1203
Clean the product enclosure using only a soft, dry cloth. lf necessary,
carefully vacuum the grille of the S-1203.
CAUTION: Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning solutions containing
alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives
CAUTION: Do not use any sprays near the product or allow liquids to spill into
any openings.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to do |
---|---|
No power | ● Make sure you have power at the AC outlet. Try operating a |
lamp or other equipment from the same AC outlet or test the outlet using an AC
outlet tester.
No sound| ● Make sure your S-1203 is turned on.
● Make sure your instrument is plugged into the Channel input
● Make sure the volume is turned up on your source.
● Make sure the volume is turned up on the S-1203.
● Make sure the S-1203 isn’t in AutoOff/Low-power Standby mode.
● Plug your instrument into a different amplifier to make sure the source is working.
● Make sure the Channel Mute button is not engaged.
Paired Bluetooth device will not connect to the loudspeaker
| ● If your paired device requires a passcode, make sure the one you entered is correct.
● Make sure Bluetooth functionality is turned on or enabled on your source device.
● Your Bluetooth device may be out of range; try moving it closer to the S-1203.
● lf possible, turn off all other nearby Bluetooth devices or disable their Bluetooth functionality.
● Clear the loudspeaker memory or pair to a new device by pressing and holdina the Bluetooth Pair Button for ten seconds. Delete the S-1203 from the Bluetooth device’s memory. Pair the Bluetooth device with the S-1203 again.
● Turn the power off and back on; then try re-pairing your device.
With nothing plugged into the
S-1203, a light hum or buzz is heard
| ● Using an AC outlet tester, test the AC outlet the S-1203 is plugged into for rewersed or open (hot, neutral, and/or ground) contacts.
● If using an extension cord, plug the S-1203 directly into the outlet.
Instrument or audio source sounds distorted| ● Turn down volume on the source.
● Turn down channel volume.
● Try a different source or instrument.
Microphone is encountering feed- back| ● Turn down channel volume.
● Orient the microphone so that it is not pointing directly at the S-1203.
● Try a different microphone.
● Try a different position for the S-1203 and/or vocalist on stage.
● Increase the distance from the S-1203 to the microphone.
● If using a vocal effects processor, make sure it is not contributing to the feedback problem.
