Maintenance & Care

WARNING :

To maintain maximum performance from your BISSELL vacuum, perform these simple maintenance checks:

EMPTYING THE DIRT CONTAINER
  1. Turn Vacuum off (O).
  2. To remove dirt from the dirt container and filter, hold the vacuum vertically as shown. Depress and hold latch on top of the vacuum to release the dirt container.
  3. Gently pull dirt container away from the hand vacuum grip and remove the filter as shown. Empty into waste container.
  4. The dirt container may be rinsed with warm water and a mild detergent if needed. The dirt container must be thoroughly dried before replacing.
  5. Replace filter. Attach dirt container to vacuum by depressing Latch and securely fitting onto hand grip. Make sure dirt container is correctly secured.
CLEANING THE FILTER

The key to maximum performance is having clean filters. Cleaning the filters after each use will help your vacuum operate at peak efficiency.

Use only BISSELL replacement filters in your BISSELL vacuum.

  1. Turn Vacuum off (O).

  2. Follow the steps on page 5 to remove dirt container and main filter. To clean the main filter, shake over a waste container until debris is gone. Replace the filter back into the dirt container.
Note : After heavy usage, you may clean the filter by washing it gently by hand in warm water and mild dish detergent. Rinse thoroughly and make certain it is completely dry before replacing it. If filter is torn, replace it with a new filter.

  3. To clean the foam filter, lift out from the body of the unit. This filter may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Rinse well and air dry thoroughly before replacing. If filter is torn, replace it with a new filter.

  4. Attach dirt container to vacuum by depressing latch and securely fitting onto hand vacuum grip. Make sure dirt container is correctly secured.
