3-Step System

How to Clean, Restore and Repair Plastics
The NOVUS Plastic Polish 3-step system is designed to bring scratched, faded and dulled plastic and acrylic materials back to life. With repeated use, our easy-to-use system can repair even the most stubborn scratches and abrasions. The Plastic Polish Kit is available in three convenient sizes. Try it once, love it forever.

Clean and Protect

NOVUS Polish – Clean and Protect
The first step for bringing plastics back to life begins with NOVUS Plastic Clean & Shine. The polish gently cleans all plastics, leaving a smooth, clean, and greaseless shine without scratching. NOVUS No. 1 polish contains no abrasives and harsh chemicals, and is formulated to resist fogging and fingerprint marks, repel dust and eliminate static.
How to polish plastics:

  1. Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.
  2. If the surface is extremely dirty, apply NOVUS No. 1 liberally and wipe using long, sweeping strokes with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth immediately. Do not use pressure because dirt particles may scratch the plastic.
  3. Reapply using short, circular strokes with a clean portion of the cloth.
  4. When surface is thoroughly clean and uniformly covered, buff to a slippery glaze with a clean portion of the cloth. Surfaces buffed to a high glaze are more resistant to dust and future scratching.
  5. Reapply NOVUS No. 1 regularly to maintain the antistatic, smudge and scratch-resistant properties.

Restore and Refinish

NOVUS Fine Scratch Remover – Restore and Refinish
The second step for restoring plastics is applying NOVUS Fine Scratch Remover, which eliminates fine scratches, haziness and abrasions from most plastics. This product is designed to remove the damage caused from wear and tear instead of filling it in and buffs out quickly. With repeated use, NOVUS No. 2 restores faded and discoloured plastics.*

How to restore plastics:

  1. If the surface is dirty, clean with NOVUS No. 1 before applying NOVUS No. 2.
  2. Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.
  3. Apply NOVUS No. 2 liberally. Using a clean, soft cloth, polish with a firm back and forth motion at right angles to the scratches.
  4. Keep the cloth saturated with polish at all times. Greater pressure may be required on deeper scratches.
  5. When the worst scratches have been polished out, reapply NOVUS No. 2 uniformly in a circular motion to the entire surfaces using short, circular strokes and light pressure. Allow to dry to a light haze.
  6. Using a clean portion of the cloth, buff the surface to a slippery glaze using firm, short strokes. This procedure is essential to achieve the best results.
  7. For heavy scratches, multiple applications of NOVUS No. 2 or an application of NOVUS No. 3 may be required.
  8. For best results, follow with NOVUS No. 1 polish.
  9. *Not recommended for use on coated plastics

Repair and Prepare

NOVUS Heavy Scratch Remover – Repair and Prepare
The third and final step is to use NOVUS Heavy Scratch Remover to repair badly damaged plastics and acrylics.* The NOVUS No. 3 product removes heavy scratches and abrasions from most acrylic surfaces and is recommended when the damage is too severe to be restored with NOVUS Fine Scratch Remover only.

How to repair acrylics:

  1. Remove surface dirt and dust with NOVUS No. 1.
  2. Shake well. Test in an inconspicuous area.
  3. Apply NOVUS No. 3 liberally. Using clean, soft cloth, polish with a firm back-and-forth motion at right angles to the scratches. Keep the cloth saturated with polish at all times.
  4. Continue polishing until only fine scratches remain.
  5. IMPORTANT: Using cloth, remove all remaining polish.
  6. With clean cloth, apply NOVUS No. 2 in a circular motion uniformly to entire surface. Polish using light pressure until dried to a light haze.
  7. Using a clean cloth, buff the surface clean.
  8. For best results, follow with NOVUS No. 1
  9. *Not recommended for use on coated plastics
