Before connecting this unit to a power supply for the first time you must first fill the fluid tank with fog fluid and check that the nozzle is clean and unobstructed.

Place the machine on a level surface and loosen the cap of the fluid tank to fill with quality water based fog fluid. Although other fog fluid brands may be used, we recommend use of Rockville fog fluid as it is the best quality and the best price. Plug the wired remote control into the socket at the rear of the unit. Switch the fog machine on and allow to preheat for 3 minutes (red LED will be on). Once the machine has reached operating temperature the red light on the remote control will turn off. The mahcine will produce 30 second fog bursts.

Use the wired remote to control and fine tune your fog output:

Yellow Knob: Interval: controls the time between fog bursts.
Green Knob: Duration: controls the length of time of fog bursts.
Red Knob: Output: controls the amount of fog put out during a burst.
Yellow Button: Timer: turns the timer on and off.
Red Button: Continous Fogging: turns the continous fog function on and off. Once on, the machine will continuosly produce fog based on interval, duration, and output settings.
Green Button: Manual Fogging: use this button to manualy control gog bursts.

The R1200L also features a convenient 4 button wireless remote:

Button 3: Strobe control: once the fog machine is operational, use this button to activate/deactivate the strobe function.
Button 4: Fog control: once the fog machine is operational, use this button to activate/ deactivate the continous fog function. The first preheat time is 3 minutes and will make 30 seconds of fog. The machine will then automatically continue to cycle between 30 second bursts and preheating. To deactivate the function, simply press button 4 again.

Installation/Mounting

The fog machine must be used in a horizontal position on a level surface or it may be mounted using the bracket provided. Whatever method of installation you choose, the fog machine must not have more than a 15 degree angle of inclination. We always suggest that for safety purpose use of a suitable hanging clamp and safety cable is essential.

Always monitor fog fluid level as running the machine with no fluid could cause permanent damage. Please do not touch or place anything in close proximity to the nozzle during operation or preheating as you could suffer serious burns.
It is normal for your fog machine to have a reheating period after long bursts. The unit will shut itself down for a short period in order to reach operating temperature (572° F). Please note that during this time no fog can be produced. The green light on the remote will illuminate when the unit is ready.

Due to the high operating temperature of fog machines it is advised that the effect be used in well ventilated areas taking care not to obstruct the air vents. After use, allow time the unit time to cool down before moving or touching. Not doing so could result in serious burns.
This fog machine has been designed to function on a power supply of 110V-60HZ and has been fitted with a suitable power plug. Please be sure to use the same type fuse as the one provided.

Cleaning

Cleaning your fog machine regularly will help reduce costly parts replacement and repair charges. We recommend you clean your fog machine after every 40 hours of continues operation or when the machine will be idle for a long time. Run a cleaning solution composed of 80% distilled water and 20% white vinegar through the system to prevent the accumulation of particles in the heating element.

  1. While unit is unplugged and cool, unscrew nozzle at very front of unit and clean out debris with white vinegar and a pipe cleaner, making sure that the hole is unobstructed.
  2. Empty all fog fluid from the machine and replace with cleaning solution. Plug the unit in and allow to heat up as usual.
  3. Run unit in a well ventilated area until tank is empty.
  4. Replace nozzle.
  5. Cleaning is now complete. Unplug and wait until it is cool before refilling with Rockville fog fluid or any other water based fog fluid.
  6. To clean the exterior, wipe with a dry cloth.
  7. Always store the unit dry (no fluid in the tank).

All fog machines are prone to clogging due to the consistency of fluids and the high temperatures at which they vaporize. However, a well maintained machine should provide years of reliable use.

Maintenance/Servicing

Do not allow fog fluid to become contaminated. Always replace cap after use.
There are no user serviceable parts in this unit. Any work on internal parts should be carried out by a qualified technician. Removal of any covers is considered a breach of warranty.

Troubleshooting

If you experience low output, pump noise or no output at all, unplug immediately. Check fluid level, check the hose attached to the tank and make sure there are no obstructions and fluid is flowing through the hose, check the external fuse, remote connection, and main power supply. Ensure that tank is filled and all other components are working properly. If all appear to be OK, plug the unit in again. If the unit still does not operate properly and you are unable to determine the cause of the problem, contact Rockville for servicing.

ATTENTION: If the unit is unable to produce fog, do not continue to push the remote control button as this may cause permanent damage.

Caution

This unit can pose a burn danger if not used properly. Do not obstruct the nozzle. Fog output is very hot, avoid coming within 24″ of the nozzle during operation. Output nozzle becomes very hot during operation (572° F).Keep flammable materials at least 2cr· away from the nozzle. Always allow the fog machine to cool down before cleaning or servicing.

Never use any other type of liquid other than Rockville water based fog fluid or any other comparable brand. Never drink fog liquid. If its ingested, call a doctor immediately. If fog fluid comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.

Beware of condensation around the nozzle. Consider carefully when mounting. All fog machines may splutter small amounts of fog occasionally during operation and for a minute or so after being turned off.
