General information about the POWERCRANK power meter

POWER CRANK is a device used to measure the power generated by a cyclist. Data registered and processed by the POWERCRANK device is made available through ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart protocol. The POWERCRANK device is compatible with bicycle computers and mobile devices supporting ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart protocols (a list of compatible devices is available on inpeak.pl/en/support_en/).

IMPORTANT information for the user

POWERCRANK device should not be washed with pressure washers that generate high pressure water jet. Directing the water jet to the device can damage it.
Do not use abrasive detergents to clean the crank with the POWERCRANK power meter, which may cause damage to the housing and electronic system.
The battery life may be shorter at low temperatures than when the device is operated in conditions that are close to room temperature.
Calibration (see point 6) should be carried out relatively often, especially after changing weather conditions – this will ensure correct indication of the POWERCRANK power measurement. Calibration should be carried out each time after disassembly and assembly of the device on the bike (screwing to the axis of the crank) and battery replacement.

Compatibility of the POWERCRANK device with bicycle computers and other

mobile devices

POWERCRANK is compatible with bicycle computers and mobile devices supporting ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart protocols. A detailed list of compatible devices can be found on the manufacturer’s website inpeak.pl/en/support_en/.

ANT+ pairing
Each POWERCRANK device has its own unique ANT+ number. The number is placed on the crank arm and on the packaging. The number should be entered in the field intended for that in the bicycle computer. A description of this procedure can be found in the bicycle computer manual.

Bluetooth Smart pairing
Connection with Bluetooth-equipped mobile devices is achieved by activating the Bluetooth function, and then launching a training mobile application that supports the “Cycling Power” sensor via Bluetooth Smart. A description of this procedure can be found in the manual of the mobile device.

Calibration of POWERCRANK device on the bicycle

a. Put the bicycle in the driving position (see photo 7).
b. Start the device by turning the crank twice back.
c. Make sure that the battery is not discharged.
d. Position the left crank arm vertically with the pedal down (6 o’clock) according to Fig. 7 and make sure that no object touches the left arm. The pedal must be screwed to the left arm.
e. Pair the bicycle computer with POWERCRANK by entering the ID number placed on the crank or on the packaging in the ANT+ options.
f. Run the ZERO OFFSET calibration function on the bicycle computer.
g. A message indicating that the calibration has been completed, and the value of the calibration process, which should be in the range of -5 to 5, will appear after a while. This process can take up to several dozen seconds.
If this value does not fall within the given range, contact support@inpeak.pl.
After the calibration process, the device is ready for cycling.

NOTE: Calibration should be performed relatively frequently, especially after changing the weather conditions – this will ensure the correct indication of POWERCRANK power measurement. Calibration should be carried out each time after disassembly and assembly of the device and replacement of the battery.
