Installation instructions
Wall light with motion sensor
NOTE
The light fitting must be installed by a qualified electrician.
The mains supply must be disconnected at the fuse box before starting
installation.
It is not sufficient just to turn off the power at the switch.
Assembly and installation
-
Recommended height of installation for best detection sensitivity: min. 2 metres – max. 3 metres.
-
The light should also be installed so that it detects someone passing across the sensor detection field, but not coming straight towards the light.
-
Mount the junction box on the wall. NOTE: the drainage hole must be facing downwards.
-
Carry out electrical installation.
Blue lead = Neutral (N)
Brown lead = Live (L)
Yellow/green lead = Earth (not on class II light fittings). -
Screw the light housing to the junction box. Make sure that none of the leads are trapped.
-
Fit the bulb and glass.
-
Refit the cover over the light fitting (where applicable).
-
Switch on the mains supply. The light is now ready for use.
NOTE! The light will not work satisfactorily if:
- The light is installed near a heat source.
- The sensor is aimed at a busy street.
- The sensor is aimed at reflecting water or glass surfaces.
- Other lights interfere with the sensor’s detection field.
For light fitting made from stainless steel
The light fitting is coated with a protective varnish. We recommended that the
surface is coated with a neutral oil and then wiped with a soft cloth to
prevent staining. This should be done at least four times a year.
