IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Warning: When the hair dryer is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the hair dryer is switched off.
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
DANGER As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off.
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:

  • Always unplug it immediately after using.
  • Do not place or store an appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a bath or sink.
  • Do not use while bathing.
  • Do not place or drop into water or other liquid.
  • If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. Do not reach into the water.

For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your electrical contractor for advice.

WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BURNS, ELECTROCUTION, AND FIRE, OR INJURY TO PERSONS.

  • An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in to a power outlet.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. • This appliance is not a toy. Children shall be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by Remington.
  • Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord/plug or after the appliance has malfunctioned, or been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • There are no user serviceable parts. If power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not use on people who are sleeping.
  • Never drop or insert any object into any opening of this appliance.
  • Do not use outdoors or where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
  • Do not direct hot air towards the eyes or other heat sensitive areas.
  • Attachments, where provided, may be hot during and after use. Allow them to cool before handling.
  • When using the appliance, keep your hair away from the air inlet grille. Do not let your hair get drawn into the appliance.
  • Please check the voltage ratings on the product prior to use to ensure it matches the voltage of the local area.

BASIC HAIR CARE INSTRUCTIONS
For optimal results, shampoo and condition your hair prior to styling and towel dry to remove excess moisture. Note: The Galaxy Hair Dryer is not suitable for use on synthetic wigs or hair extensions.

QUICK-DRYING
Select a high heat and high-speed setting and roughly dry your hair. Use the vent brush or your hand to shake out excess moisture whilst drying and keep the hairdryer in constant motion.

STRAIGHTENING
Select high heat and high speed and roughly dry the hair. When the hair is nearly dry, attach the concentrator nozzle (which minimises frizz) and reduce the heat & speed. Section the hair according to the thickness and begin with straightening bottom layers first. Using the vent brush, follow the concentrator from above, while slowly gliding down each section of hair from roots to tips.
Once bottom layers have been straightened, then straighten the midsection and complete by straightening top layers.

NATURAL WAVY TEXTURE
Using low heat and low-speed settings, `scrunch’ sections of hair with your fingers into the palm of your hand while directing airflow through your fingers. Once you have reached the desired effect, use the cool shot on each section of hair to hold the style. For more volume, lean forward and dry the hair in the upside-down position.

LIFT & VOLUME
Use the hairdryer on a low heat and low-speed setting, work from the roots of hair and begin at the back of the head. Section your hair and use the vent brush to dry against the natural growth pattern of your hair. This creates lift at the roots, which creates a style with volume.

STYLING
Set the hairdryer to low heat and low-speed setting and attach the concentrator nozzle for precision drying. Section the hair and style using the vent brush. Concentrate the airflow directly on the hair while styling in the direction you desire. If necessary, hold the airflow for 2-5 seconds on each section while curling under or over for additional hold.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
This hair dryer is equipped with a thermostat that will cycle `OFF’ if the temperature exceeds the comfort level due to partially blocked air inlet or air outlet grilles. In the event that the hairdryer stops during use, turn off all switches and allow the hairdryer to cool down, at which time the thermostat will automatically reset. Before using again, check that the air inlet and air outlet grilles are not blocked. Unplug the hairdryer and clean the openings if necessary. During use, do not block the air openings or let your hair be drawn into the hairdryer.

MAINTENANCE
Your hairdryer is designed for household use and is virtually maintenance- free. When cleaning becomes necessary, turn all switches off and disconnect the hairdryer from the power outlet. To maintain peak product performance, it is important to clean the air inlet grille and filter at the back of the dryer. To access the air inlet grille and filter, grasp the air inlet grille retaining ring with your hand and twist it anticlockwise until it unlocks. Pull it away from the hairdryer. The filter can now be cleaned with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. Take the air inlet grille retaining ring and position it so the lugs on the ring are aligned with the notches on the side of the dryer. To lock, turn the air inlet grille retaining ring clockwise. The exterior of the hairdryer can be cleaned by wiping it with a damp cloth.

STORAGE
When not in use, unplug the unit. Allow the appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance as this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle the cord carefully for long life and avoid jerking, twisting or straining especially at plug connections. If the cord becomes twisted in use, periodically straighten it. You may also use the hanging loop to store the hairdryer within convenient reach, ensuring that water cannot be splashed onto it when it is hung up.

WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
As with all electrical appliances, the power cord must be regularly checked for wear and tear. Immediately cease using this product if the power cord shows any signs of damage.
This product conforms to radio frequency interference requirements. Any product purchased and used commercially carries a limited 90 Day Warranty.
