Usage
The TM1 is a condenser microphone that requires phantom power to operate. Switching a channel’s phantom power on or off may cause a loud ‘pop’ or ‘bang’ to be heard over the speakers or headphones. Always ensure that the input channel being used is muted on your mixer, or that the channel fader or output control is turned all the way down before engaging phantom power.
- Mute the chosen microphone input channel or turn its channel fader or output control all the way down (-oo) on your mixer.
- Connect the TM1 to the XLR input of the chosen microphone channel using the included XLR cable.
- Engage the +48 V phantom power on the channel or main section to supply power to the microphone.
- Raise the channel and master volumes 1/3 of the way to start. You can adjust them later.
- While speaking into the TM1, raise the gain control so that sufficient signal registers on the meters without causing clipping.
- Mic positioning, sound isolation, equalisation etc. varies greatly depending on specific application. It is highly recommended to do some research ahead of time to ensure the best audio reproduction.
