1. Intended use

The cosmetics mirror is solely for the purpose of supporting your daily skin care routine, such as assessing cosmetics.
For this purpose it has both a mirror without magnification and an additional magnetic mirror with a 5x
magnification. The purpose of the built-in lighting is simply to make it easier to see the applied cosmetics. It is
not suitable for lighting a room.

  • The base of the mirror can also be used to store various cosmetic or jewellery items.
  • The device is only intended for the purpose described in these instructions for use. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless use.
  • This device is intended for domestic use only, not for commercial purposes.
  • This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience and/or a lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or are instructed by such a person in how to use the device.
  • Supervise children around the device to ensure they do not play with it.

Read these instructions for use carefully! Non-observance of the following information may result in personal injury or material damage. Store these instructions for use and make them accessible to other users. Make sure
you include these instructions for use when handing over the device to third parties.

Warning

  • Contact with direct sunlight poses an increased risk of fire. Therefore, avoid exposing the mirror surface to direct sunlight.
  • Keep packaging material away from children to avoid danger of suffocation.
  • Children must be supervised at all times whilst using the device.
  • Only specialist personnel may perform repairs on electrical devices. Improper repairs may subject users to considerable danger. In the event of a fault or damage, have the device repaired by a certified specialist workshop. There is a risk of fire if the device is used improperly or these instructions for use are ignored. The device should therefore:
  • Never be left lying around unattended, especially if there are children nearby
  • Never be used underneath a cover, such as a blanket, pillow, etc.
  • Never be used near petrol or other highly flammable substances
  • Only be used in dry interior rooms (e.g. never in the bath or sauna)
    Make sure that the device does not come into contact with water or other liquids. Never reach for a device that is submerged in water.

Important

  • Before use, ensure that the device and accessories display no visible damage. If you have any doubts, do not use
    the device and contact your retailer or the specified Customer Service address.

  • Never open the housing.

  • Keep the device away from pointed or sharp objects.

  • If the device has been dropped or has suffered any other damage, it must no longer be used.

  • The device must be switched off after every use and before cleaning.

4. Initial use

  • Check the device for damage.
  • Attach the mirror holder to the storage base by using the bayonet fitting.

4.1 Inserting the batteries

  • If present, remove the battery insulating strip on the battery compartment lid and remove the protective film from the battery, then insert the battery the correct way round.
  • The batteries are located on the back of the mirror. Open the battery compartment lid. Now you can remove the plastic insulating strip or change the batteries.

4.2 Operation

  • Flick the toggle switch on the back of the mirror to position 1. The power from the batteries is now activated.

  • You can switch the light source on or off by briefly touching the touch button on the mirror.

  • By pressing and holding the touch button, you can now set the desired brightness of the mirror.

  • You will find a small additional mirror with a 5x magnification on the back of the mirror. Remove it carefully from the back of the mirror. You can now place it in the centre of the larger mirror. The main
    mirror provides an extremely clear and complete reflection of your face; whereas the 5x magnifying mirror is suitable for seeing what you are doing in more detail.

  • The 360° flexible ball joint enables the mirror to be freely rotated in any direction and will stay reliably in the chosen position.

The light switches off automatically after 15 minutes.
The mirror has a colour temperature of 4,000 – 5,000 Kelvin.

5. Maintenance and storage

  • Switch off the device each time before cleaning.
  • Clean the device using a soft, slightly damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent.
  • Always switch off the toggle switch on the back of the mirror after use, in order to preserve battery life.
  • Clean the device using only the methods specified. Under no circumstances may liquid enter the device or the accessories.
  • Do not use the device again until it is completely dry.
  • Do not clean the device in the dishwasher.
  • Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or hard brushes.

Notes on handling batteries

  • If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, rinse the affected area with water and seek medical assistance.
  • Choking hazard! Small children may swallow and choke on batteries. Store batteries out of the reach of small children.
  • Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) polarity signs.
  • If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
  • Protect batteries from excessive heat.
  • Risk of explosion! Do not throw batteries into a fire.
  • Do not charge or short-circuit batteries.
  • If the device is not to be used for a relatively long period, take the batteries out of the battery compartment.
  • Use identical or equivalent battery types only.
  • Always replace all batteries at the same time.
  • Do not use rechargeable batteries.
  • Do not disassemble, open or crush the batteries.

Note: Disposal

  • For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its useful life. Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country. Dispose of the
    device in accordance with EC Directive – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for waste disposal.

  • Empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of through specially designated collection boxes, recycling points or electronics retailers. You are legally required to dispose of the batteries.

  • The codes below are printed on batteries containing harmful substances: Pb = Battery contains lead
    Cd = Battery contains cadmium
    Hg = Battery contains mercury

6. Warranty/service

In case of a claim under the warranty please contact your local dealer or the local representation which is mentioned in the list “service international”. In case of returning the unit please add a copy of your receipt and a short report of the defect. The following warranty terms shall apply:

  1. The warranty period for BEURER products is either 3 years or- if longer- the country specific warranty period from date of Purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

  2. Repairs (complete unit or parts of the unit) do not extend the warranty period.

  3. The warranty shall not be valid for damages because of
    a. improper treatment, e.g. nonobservance of the user instructions.
    b. repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
    c. transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
    d. The warranty shall not be valid for accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear (cuff, batteries etc.).

  4. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
