HOLES & DOMES – MIRROR MOUNTED TO THE WALL

  1. Check mirror sits flat by holding the mirror against the wall in the correct position and at the same time mark the center of the 4 holes.
  2. Use an electrician to connect the power cord.
  3. Hang the mirror as per the holes & domes instructions supplied with the mirror. Feed the excess wire into the wall cavity during installation.
  4. Seal the mirror edges using neutral cure silicon.

FOR TILED WALLS
lf you do not wish to recess a hole in the tiles, the mirror can be packed behind the holes using a number of rubber washers. Use longer screws. Ensure you only hand-tighten the screws so the corner of the mirror does not bend and snap.

HIDDEN FIXINGS – MIRROR MOUNTED TO THE WALL

  1. Mount mirror wall brackets onto the wall.
  2. Hang the mirror first to ensure it fits correctly.
  3. Remove the mirror and connect the power cord of the demister to the power.
  4. Finally, hang up the mirror and feed excess wire into the wall.

GLUE FIX MIRROR MOUNTED ON THE WALL
Attention: The size of the demister must be chosen carefully in order th have enough area (around the demister) to fix the mirror directly to the wall. Use a smaller demister so you have sufficient area on the back of the mirror for glue and adhesion. Ensure wall is firm, flat, level and dry. Glue or tape must be applied to the mirror back, not to the heating element.

  1. Check mirror sits flat by holding the mirror against the wall in the correct position.
  2. The rough surface of the wall with sandpaper for better adhesion, then clean and dry thoroughly.
  3. Apply neutral silicon and/or adhesive tape to the surface of the wall. Ensure the silicon or tape only sticks to the mirror backing (not the heating element).
  4. Thread a wire through an electrical conduit or pipe. Connect the power cord of the demister to the wire. Fix the mirror onto the wall while pulling the wire through at the same time.
  5. Connect the power cord of the demister to the power (240V).COLDBUSTER-Electric-Mirror-Demister-FIG7

GENERAL NOTES

  • The demister must be in contact with the mirror back for it to function correctly.
  • The demister is self-adhesive.
  • We recommend the demister is wired into the light circuit.
  • Demister must not be pierced.
  • We recommend two people are used to install a heated mirror.
  • An electrician is required to wire in the demister.
  • A transformer or thermostat is not required.
  • A demister is double insulated eliminating the need for an earth cable.
  • Allow 1mm gap all around for mirror expansion if fitting into the wall recess.

ADHERE DEMISTER TO THE BACK OF MIRROR

A self-adhesive demister is to be placed on the back of standard mirrors with a thickness of 3 to 6mm. If an air bubble appears between the demister and the mirror it must not be pierced. These bubbles are a result of handling and neither affect the operation nor is it detrimental in any way.

  1. Lay the mirror faces down on a protective cushioned surface. Clean the mirror back surface, make sure it is dry, dean, and free of dust, grease or any contaminates. Pencil mark the position of the demister on the back of the mirror.
  2. Turn the demister over. Remove approximately 10cm of protection film and old it back.
  3. Flip the demister pad again, adjust it to the marked position, use a dry cloth and press the bonding foil on to the back of the mirror.
  4. Slowly peel the protection film back, while pressing and rubbing the bonding foil onto the back of the mirror with the dry cloth. It is easiest to use two people, one peeling and one pressin9.
  5. Mark and transfer the dimensions of the mirror and the location of the power cord.
  6. Recess a 50-60mm diameter hole in the wall surface in the location of the pr flat on the wall.
