INSTRUCTIONS
Adjusting the Footrest Length
Using the wrench provided, place it over the bolt and turn to left to loosen
or to the right to tighten in place. Adjust the length by sliding the footrest
up or down so that the person’s full thigh is supported by the seat.
Remember
Foot-plates need to keep at least a 2” clearance from the ground to overcome
thresholds
Remember
If the knees are too high the person may get a sore bottom from increased
pressure. If the knees are too low the person may slide out of the chair
Removing & Replacing Footrests
Swing the footrest to the side by pushing the lever (1) Grasp the top bar of
the footrest and lift up (2), releasing the footrests from the pins. Repeat on
the other side. Holding the footrest in one hand, from the side align the pins
with the holes in the footrest and attach (3). Swing footrest back in place.
Applying the Brakes
Push the brake handle forward to lock and pull back to release.
Remember
To apply the brakes before getting in or out of the chair
- The wheels and casters have maintenance free solid tyres installed that will not become flat if they are cut or punctured by debris on the ground.
- The chair is fitted with 8” diameter casters and 24” diameter rear wheels to make travel over rough terrain and small obstacles easier.
- On very rough or soft terrain it will be easier, and safer, for the care giver to pull the chair backwards until smoother or harder terrain is reached.
Removing and replacing the quick release wheels
Push and hold the center of the hub (as shown in the image) and pull the wheel from the frame. To replace the wheel, simply push the wheel securely back onto the frame.
