Introduction
The Avigo Compact Wheelchair is a lightweight yet sturdy aluminium framed portable wheelchair. It is easily transportable and comes with a compact carry bag making it ideal for stowing in car boots, coaches, aircraft, etc. It is ideal for occasional use both indoors and outdoors where the terrain is forgiving (e.g. shopping centres, airports). It is suitable for users up to 18 stone (115kg) and is propelled by an attendant pushing the chair.

Assembly Instructions

Fold-out the seat fully by pushing down on the four corners of the seat. Ensure the seat is folded out fully otherwise the armrest may not locate properly.

Flip the armrests around until they locate into the armrest receivers (as shown in the photo). The armrest release button will click to indicate that the armrest has securely locked in position.

Removing & Replacing Footrests Swing the footrest to the side by pushing the lever (1) Grasp the top bar of the footrest and lift up (2), releasing the footrests from the pins.
Repeat on the other side. Holding the footrest in one hand, from the side align the pins with the holes in the footrest and attach (3). Swing footrest back in place.
3.2 Adjusting the Footrest Length Using the wrench provided, place it over the bolt and turn to the left to loosen or to the right to tighten in place. Adjust the length by sliding the footrest up or down so that the person’s full thigh is supported by the seat.

Pull up the push handle until it locks into position. You will hear a click when the handle is securely locked. Repeat for the other handle.
Folding & Transporting
Note : The folding procedure is essentially the assembly procedure in reverse.

Press the release paddle on the half fold back mechanism with your thumb whilst lightly pulling the push handle down.

Pull the armrest release button whilst pulling up on the armrest to release. Flip the armrest back until they are hanging vertically down from the chair.

Flip-up the footplates and lift up the footplate receivers. Press the brass push button and push the footplate back whilst rotating approximately 90º until it locates in the receiver hole nearest the chair.

Lift the chair by the two lift up straps and the chair should naturally fold up. The chair can be carried using lift up straps.

If required, unzip the carry bag and insert the chair. If necessary, rotate the front castors to allow the chair to fit in the bag. Zip up the bag and carry using the two handles.
The Avigo Compact Wheelchair is not suitable for using a seat in a motor vehicle. Users should always transfer to the vehicle’s seat.
Brake Operation
The Avigo Compact Wheelchair comes with two brakes which should only be applied when the chair is stationary.
To apply the brakes, press the brake handle as shown in the photo. To release the brakes, press the handle in the opposite direction.

The Avigo Compact Wheelchair is suitable for a single user up to 115kg (18 stone). t is propelled by an attendant pushing the Avigo Compact Wheelchair using the handgrips on the push handles.

The stepper tube can be used to lift the front castors to allow the chair to negotiate obstacles such as door thresholds and dropped kerbs. To use this function, the user should press down on the stepper tube with afoot to allow the front castors to lift.
The Avigo Compact Wheelchair is not suitable for climbing kerbs and obstacles over 2” (5cm). NEVER push down on the push handles to raise the front castors as this could cause damage or injury. -
Use slow speeds on gradients. Do not use the Avigo Compact Wheelchair on gradients above 10º.

Do not use escalators.

Maintain proper balance at all times. The user should not move their centre of gravity outside of the seating area.

Do not reach for items further than your arm will extend.

Be aware of hazards in your environment such as rugs, steps, narrow doorways, household appliances, children’s toys, etc.

We do not recommend that the Avigo Compact Wheelchair is used for side transfers.

The brakes are sole to be used as parking brakes. They should not be used to slow down the chair during motion.
Care & Maintenance
- The Avigo Compact Wheelchair’s aluminium frame and nylon upholstery can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent or disinfectant.
- If the Avigo Compact Wheelchair is subjected to moisture, it should be dried immediately.
- The Avigo Compact Wheelchair should be checked monthly for device integrity. Any loose fasteners should be tightened or replaced, and any torn or worn upholstery or parts replaced.
- The Avigo Compact Wheelchair comes with solid tyres which do not require inflating.

In the event of a defect covered by this warranty, we will at our option supply parts or replace the device. This warranty does not cover device failure due to owner misuse or negligence, or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend to non-durable components, such as rubber accessories, castors and grips, which are subject to normal wear and need periodic replacement.
