Use Time to Walk on Apple Watch

With Apple Fitness+ on your Apple Watch Series 3 or later, you can use the Time to Walk workout to hear stories, listen to curated songs, and see meaningful photos from inspirational guests.

Start a Time to Walk episode

  1. On your Apple Watch, open the Workout app.
  2. Tap the Time to Walk workout.
  3. To find more episodes, tap the List All button .

Time to Walk starts a walking workout in the Workout app. If the GPS on your Apple Watch detects any distance traveled, the workout is recorded as an Outdoor Walk. Otherwise, the workout is recorded as an Indoor Walk.


Download Time to Walk episodes

  1. On your iPhone, open the Fitness app, then tap the Fitness+ tab.*
  2. In the Time to Walk section, tap Show All.
  3. Tap the episode that you’d like to download and tap the Add button.

If you subscribe to Apple Fitness+, five of the latest episodes automatically download when your Apple Watch is charging and connected to Wi-Fi. The amount of available storage on your Apple Watch can impact how many Time to Walk episodes can be downloaded. After you listen to episodes, they’re automatically removed and new episodes download as they’re released.

If you have a non-cellular Apple Watch, you can download additional episodes to your watch over Wi-Fi. If you have a cellular-enabled Apple Watch, you can stream episodes.

*Time to Walk is not available on iPad or Apple TV and is playable only on Apple Watch Series 3 or later with the use of Bluetooth headphones.


Remove Time to Walk episodes that you downloaded

  1. On your iPhone, open the Fitness app, then tap the Fitness+ tab.
  2. In the Time to Walk section, tap Show All.
  3. Find the episode that you want to remove, then tap Remove.

If you don’t want episodes to be automatically added to your Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone > My Watch > Workout > Add Newest Workout to Watch.


How to access controls while listening to an episode

  • Swipe left to lock, end, or pause your workout.

  • Swipe right to pause the audio or skip forward or back in the episode or between songs.

Find a Time to Walk episode transcript on iPhone or iPad

  1. On your iPhone, open the Fitness app, then tap the Fitness+ tab.
  2. In the Time to Walk section, choose an episode.
  3. Tap the more button , then tap Copy.
  4. In a new browser window, paste the link.
  5. When the page loads, scroll down and tap Read Workout Transcript.
