The safety instructions in the operating manual of the cordless screwdriver used must be observed.

General notes on safety
  • These operating instructions apply to the tool
    „Cleaning and retracting aid VAS 6620A“.

  • Only run the cordless screwdriver at low speed. Never allow the special shaft to rotate outside the water drain hose on the sunroof!

  • The special shaft must be replaced in case of visible damage or very heavy wear.

  • The operating personnel must be instructed. (read manual)

  • Mains-powered drive tools must not be used.

  • Never use the locking button of the on/off switch of the drive tool.

  • Remove the tool from the cordless screwdriver during repair, maintenance and servicing work.

  • Always store tools and machine parts in the designated place after use. Ensure that the surface is clean.

  • Only use approved and tested climbing aids (ladders) for higher workplaces.

  • Ensure a firm and safe footing when using the tool.

  • The working area must be sufficiently illuminated and dimensioned.

Use of the machine for purposes for which it is intended

The tool is intended for cleaning the water drainage channels on the retractable sunroof of a car.

Incorrect use

All uses other than those described under section 1.3 are regarded as incorrect use and are therefore not admissible.

Generally to be observed

Never bend the special shaft. This means that the cleaning function is no longer possible. The shaft is therefore defective and must be replaced with a new one.

Before each new cleaning, check the special shaft for damage (kinks) and whether the protective cap is on the end of the shaft.

Preparation

Fit commercially available cordless screwdriver, receptacle and special shaft with flock.

Open collet chuck.

Insert the special shaft with protective hose into the receptacle.

Push in the special shaft until the shaft is wound up to the protective hose in the receptacle.

Tighten the collet. (only slightly hand-tight)
Tighten the collet

Attach the receptacle to the bolt (SW8) on the cordless screwdriver

Tighten the chuck on the cordless screwdriver.

CAUTION! Do not start the cordless screwdriver for tightening.

CAUTION! Do not set the cordless screwdriver to „impact“.

Caution:

**** Be sure to wear safety glasses when working with the VAS 6620A.

  • Wear close-fitting clothing when working with the tool.

Cleaning the water drain hose on the sunroof

Open the sunroof on the car.

Insert the special shaft of the cleaning aid into the water drainage hose on the sunroof a short distance for positioning.

Push the protective hose down as well.

Push the special shaft into the water drainage hose until resistance is created.

Notice:

Adjust the length of the shaft to be pushed through to approx. 10cm. This prevents the shaft from buckling (or damage).

Tighten the clamping device only slightly by hand to lock the shaft in the cleaning aid.

Hold the protective hose with one hand to guide the special shaft.

Now drive the retraction aid with the cordless screwdriver.

Attention, do not turn too fast and push it into the water drain hose with little pressure.

Screw the special shaft into the vehicle until the collet chuck reaches the protective hose.

Open the tensioning device

Move the cleaning aid backwards until approx. 10 cm of the shaft are visible again.

Close the tensioning device. Now the shaft again, under turn, insert into the water drain hose.
Close the tensioning device

Now push the shaft back into the water drainage hose while turning it.

Repeat this procedure until the entire water drain hose is cleaned.

When cleaning is complete, pull the special shaft out of the water drain hose.

Attention! The clamping device must be closed.

Then drive the shaft with the cordless screwdriver and pull it backwards at the same time.

Open the clamping device.

Push the special shaft back into the container for the shaft.

Repeat this procedure until the entire shaft is removed from the water drainage hose.

The water drain hose on the sunroof is now cleaned. The special shaft is wound up again in the container. Check the special shaft. The protective cap must be on the shaft.

Disposal

Components of the unit are recyclable material and should be put to recycling. For this purpose registered and certified recycling companies are available. For an environmental friendly disposal of the non-recyclable parts (e.g. electronic waste) please contact your local waste disposal authority.

Old batteries can be taken to your specialist dealer who will dispose of them in conformity with environmental regulations.

For EU countries only:
Do not dispose of electric tools with domestic waste. In accordance
with European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic
equipment and its implementation as national law, electric tools that are
no longer serviceable must be collected separately and utilised for environmentally compatible recycling.
