DJO EXOS OVEN
INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient or
the patient’s caregiver.
The user should be able to read, understand and be physically capable of
performing the directions, warnings and cautions in the information for use
INTENDED USE
The EXOS oven is designed to be used to heat the EXOS upper and lower
extremity products to approximately 200°F (93°C).

None.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical products, basic safety precautions should always be followed.
DANGER: To reduce the risk of electrocution:
- Read all instructions, safeguards, and warnings before using the appliance.
- Do not place appliance where it can fall or be pulled into water or other liquids.
- Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately!
- Do not immerse cord, plug, or heating element (A) in water or other liquids.
- Do not operate the oven in the presence of flammable substances as this would constitute an explosion risk.
- The oven must be mounted on non-flammable surface material.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire or injury:
- Use this appliance for its intended purpose. Do not use device other than instructed in this IFU. Do not use any other accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. They may result in fire, electrical shock, or personal injury.
- The oven, its components and the electrical plug should not be altered or modified in any way. Do not modify the device without a healthcare professional present.
- Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, is not working properly, has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Always unplug the power cord by pulling on the plug. DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord.
- Never force the plug into an outlet.
- Do no operate outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used.
- Do not place near hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Do not move the appliance while it is hot.
- Before removing the plug from the wall, turn the appliance off first.
- Check all electrical wiring. Beware of damaged cord or plug.
- There is not user serviceable parts so do not disassemble the product.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Use the handle on the heating element (A) when lifting the dome (B) from the base (F).
- If the power cord is damaged, please discontinue use of the appliance. Contact customer care for replacement or repair options.
- Use the adequate electrical system.
- All metal items in the oven, such as rack (D) and liner pan (E) can get very hot during heating. Please be careful to avoid touching these items when the oven is hot.
- Allow rack (D) and liner pan (E) to cool completely before cleaning.
- Do not place anything on or near the oven that could block the vents.
- Do not place the oven in a position whereby the vents on the sides and top of oven could be blocked. Maintain minimum clearances of 6” on all sides and 12” above the oven.
- The oven should be positioned so that the power cord can be easily disconnected.
- Keep this manual handy for easy future reference.
- Do not use the device if it is damaged and/or the packaging has been opened.
NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.
OPER ATION INSTRUC TIONS
- Read Exos Product Instructions before applying the product.
- Remove product from package and open brace so that sides do not overlap. Preheating oven is not required.
- Set oven temperature to MED or HI (LO = 180°F/82°C, MED = 200°F/93°C, HI = 220°F/104°C). Refer to Exos Product Instruction for recommended temperature. (See Control Dials (H) for Figure 1)
- Note: Handle must be in down position for oven to turn on. (See Control Dials (H) for Figure 2)
- Set heating time. Recommended heating times vary by product. Refer to Exos Product Instruction for recommended heating time. (See Control Dials (H) for Figure 3)
- Note: It is recommended to first turn past the 10 minute mark, and then back to recommended product heating time to ensure proper operation of the timer. This time will vary depending upon product. (See Control Dials (H) for Figure 3)
- Remove product from oven when timer rings.
- The Thermal Oven Extension Ring Kit (G) should be used for heating larger braces or brace components so the heating element (A) does not come in direct contact with any portion of the product while being heated. This kit is sold separately.
C AUTION
- Do not heat products longer than 15 minutes.
- Do not touch the dome (B) or any surface on the heating area during operation. The air inside the dome (B) can reach 235°F (113°C) which makes the surfaces very hot and may cause burns.
- Do not open the dome (B) or remove the heating element (A) while it is still operating. To power off the oven turn the timer dial to “OFF” position. (See Control Dials (H) for Figure 3)
CLEANING AND C ARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Unplug the unit and wait until cool before cleaning.
- For all parts, other than the heating element (A), disinfect by wiping alcohol or wash with mild soap and water then dry with towel or allow to air dry.
- Protect the metal and plastic surfaces, do not use abrasive cleaners.
- The outer surface of the heating element (A) can be cleaned by wiping it with a damp cloth.
- Do not submerge the heating element (A).
- Avoid using any cleaning agents that could cause a hazard as a result of a reaction with parts of the equipment or with material contained in it.

WARRANTY
The infrared heating system including the heating element (A), dome (B), extension ring (C), rack (D), liner pan (E), base (F) and all electrical components to be free from defects and workmanship under normal use, when operated in accordance with the above written instructions provided with each unit for one (1) year from date of purchase. DJO, LLC will repair or replace, at our discretion, any part of the heating system.
This Limited Warranty is voided if repairs are made by an unauthorized dealer or the serial number data plate is removed or defaced. Normal deterioration of finish due to use or exposure is not covered by this Warranty. This Limited Warranty does not cover failure, damages or inadequate performance due to accident, acts of God (such as lightening), fluctuations in electric power, alterations, abuse, misuse, misapplications, corrosive type atmospheres, improper installation, failure to operate in accordance with the DJO, LLC’s written instructions, or abnormal use.
