INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient or the patient’s caregiver. The user should be able to read, understand and be physically capable of performing the directions, warnings and cautions in the information for use

INTENDED USE / INDICATIONS
The Boa® Locking Ring is intended to prevent the Boa® Reel on the Exos® Braces from being lifted to the unlocked position, thus inhibiting the use of the Boa® Reel. This Locking Ring may be used on braces with the L3 Boa® Platform.

PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
Providing additional stabilization to the limb or body segment

CONTRAINDICATIONS
None.

WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS

  • This product must be prescribed and fitted by a healthcare professional. The frequency and duration of use should be determined by your healthcare professional.
  • Do not use device other than instructed in this IFU.
  • Do not modify the device without a healthcare professional present.
  • If pain, swelling, changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur while using this product, you should contact your doctor immediately.
  • Do not use over open wounds.
  • Do not use the device if it is damaged and/or the packaging has been opened.
  • If the brace is applied with a Locking Ring, the patient must not get brace wet.
  • Keep out of reach of children under three years of age to avoid accidental ingestion of the small parts.

NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.

SECURING THE LOCKING RING

  • Ensure Boa® Reel is in the down and locked position before applying Locking Ring.
  • Insert hook of Locking Ring cap into the slot. (Figure 1 & 2)fig 1,2 Warning: If the Boa® Reel is in the up position, the Locking Ring will not engage properly.
  • Use the small Boa® screwdriver key to secure the Locking Ring by turning the key clockwise until Locking Ring fully seats onto the Boa® Reel base. (Figure 3)
    Caution: Do not over tighten the screw.

REMOVING THE LOCKING RING

  • Loosen the screw on the Locking Ring by turning the screw driver key counterclockwise. (Figure 4)
  • Lift off Locking Ring. (Figure 5)
