Holding the Radio
The radio has two microphones:

When making simplex calls (high audio), hold the radio in a vertical position with the top microphone5 cm to 10 cm away from your mouth. Speak into the top microphone. Listen through the radio internal speaker. Keep the antenna at least 2.5 cm from your head and body
Looking After the Radio
Never leave the radio or battery in extreme temperatures (over +85 °C). The
radio is submersible (compliant with the IP67 standard, only when the battery
cover and antenna are attached). To clean the radio, use a moistened or
antistatic cloth. If the radio is accidentally immersed in solutions other
than water, carefully rinse with clean water and tap the radio.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the seal label at the side of the radio (see Controls and Indicators, item 20) to avoid compromising the IP67 ingress protection.
Attaching the Antenna
Turn the radio off before attaching the antenna. Align the bottom part of the antenna to the threaded base on top of the radio. Turn clockwise until snug. Do not force.
