INTENDED USE: This product is intended to be used indoors for the steaming of garments and other fabrics in the United States and/or Canada. This product is not intended for commercial or industrial uses. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage or injury due to unauthorized use or product modification. Failure to follow these directions will void the product warranty.

WARNING: Risk to Children and Impaired Persons. Supervision is required during the installation, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of this product by children age 12 and younger and anyone with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance, its parts, and packaging material.

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

Directions to reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury:

  1. Read all instructions before use.
  2. Use caution when handling this steam unit. Burns could occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use special care to avoid contact with hot water when turning the product upside down to empty the reservoir.
  3. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water, test whether steam is ready before each use while carefully holding the product away from your body. If no steam appears, wait a few more minutes and test again. Do not look into the appliance, use your hands or other objects to check for steam.
  4. Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected.
  5. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
  6. Do not place or store a unit where it can fall or be pulled into a sink or tub.
  7. If the unit falls into water, immediately unplug power cord. Do not reach into the water.
  8. Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
  9. Do not allow a cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the appliance cool completely before putting it away. Loop cord loosely around the appliance when storing.
  10. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet. Instead, grasp just the plug and pull to disconnect.
  11. Do not use a power cord as a handle, let it hang over the edges of counters, or be crimped or closed indoors.
  12. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance. All repairs must be performed by a qualified service professional. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury when the appliance is used.
  13. A loose fit between wall outlet (receptacle) and the plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Discontinue use of the product in this outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlets.
  14. To reduce the likelihood of circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.
  15. Before plugging the power cord into the electrical outlet, be sure that all electrical information on rating label agrees with your power supply.
  16. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amp rated cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that the cord cannot be pulled or tripped over.
  17. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plugin anyway.
  18. Do not use units where aerosol-based products are being used, or where oxygen is being administered.
  19. CAUTION: If the unit tips over while turned on and producing steam, it will continue to produce steam. Use caution when picking the unit up.
  20. Do not tamper with or modify this product in any way. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage or injury caused by failure to follow these instructions, improper use, or unauthorized product modification. Any such actions will invalidate the product warranty.
  21. Use appliance only for its intended use.

WARNING: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

  • The Steam Nozzle (1) emits the flow of hot, penetrating steam produced by the Boiler.
  • The Water Reservoir Cap (2) is designed to safely contain steam inside the Boiler while providing easy access to the Boiler’s fill hole.
  • The Handle (3) is designed to stay cool while providing maximum grip and comfort.
  • The Boiler Level Window (4) permits a clear view of the water level inside the Boiler and is marked to indicate the maximum water level for easy filling.
  • The Boiler (5) is the internal reservoir where water is held and converted into steam. For optimal steam production, the Boiler should not be filled past the MAX mark (11.35 oz. / 335 ml.) indicated on the Boiler Level Window.
  • The On/Off Switch (6) powers the unit On and Off.
  • The Silicone Ring (7) provides a non-slip surface and stability.

Using Your Compact Fabric Steamer

FILLING BOILER WITH WATER

  1. Place Compact Fabric Steamer on a flat, level surface.

  2. Make sure the power cord is unplugged from an electrical outlet.
CAUTION: If a unit has been in use, allow Boiler to cool (5 minutes for minimum cooling before removing Water Reservoir Cap and adding water).

  3. Remove Water Reservoir Cap by turning clockwise.

  4. Carefully fill Boiler with water from a faucet, bottle, or cup. Use Boiler Level Window to gauge water level, stopping when it reaches the MAX mark.
WARNING: MAX mark on Boiler Level Window represents the unit’s maximum usable water capacity (11.35 oz. / 335 ml.). Exceeding this amount will result in water spitting from Steam Nozzle.
NOTE: In order to minimize potential mineral build-up and prolong the life of your Compact Fabric Steamer, distilled or demineralized water is recommended when filling Boiler.

  5.  Replace Water Reservoir Cap by turning counterclockwise and until the arrows are aligned.

FABRIC STEAMING

CAUTION: When steaming any material for the first time, it is recommended that you test on a small inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not use on synthetic fabrics such as 100% nylon or polyester, or other steam-sensitive materials.
NOTE: Be sure the Boiler has already been filled before following these steps (refer to Page 6 for details).

  1. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
  2. After approximately 2 minutes, steam will begin emitting from Steam Nozzle.
  3. Direct Steam Nozzle towards fabric material you wish to steam. See below for additional tips and procedures.

CAUTION: Always be sure that Steam Nozzle is pointed in a safe direction (away from yourself, other people, pets, and plants) when steaming.

Steaming garments:

  • Hang garment from a clean, rust-free hanger.
  • Direct Steam Nozzle towards the bottom of the garment. Steam will rise along inside and outside of the material, removing wrinkles. Slowly slide Steam Nozzle upward from bottom to top of the garment.
  • Direct Steam Nozzle away from the garment and smooth material with your free hand.
  • Repeat as necessary until the garment is fresh and wrinkle-free.

General steaming tips:

  • For most effective results, hold the Steam Nozzle within 1/2” of fabrics, or press it directly against surfaces.
  • Curtains and draperies can be steamed while still hanging.
  • To remove wrinkles from towels, handkerchiefs, and napkins, drape them over a rod or towel rack and gently steam them.
  • Heavier fabrics may require repeated steaming to achieve desired results.
  • To remove exceptionally stubborn wrinkles, steam both sides of the fabric.
  • Be especially careful when steaming any delicate fabrics that may be damaged by heat or water spots.
  • To sanitize a fabric, hold the Steam Nozzle within 1/2 inch of a single area for at least 5 seconds. Use caution when doing this on more delicate fabrics.

When you are finished using your Compact Fabric Steamer, immediately unplug the power cord from an electrical outlet. Refer to Storage & Care guidelines on Page 8 of this manual for proper storage and maintenance procedures.

Storage & Care

PROPER STORAGE
Preparing your Compact Fabric Steamer for storage is quick and simple. When you have finished your steaming tasks, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Allow the unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).
  3. Remove Water Reservoir Cap. Drain any water remaining in the Boiler into a sink or tub, then add 1 oz. water. Shake to release mineral buildup and empty tank to minimize potential mineral build-up. Replace Water Reservoir Cap.
  4. Bundle power cord loosely.
  5. Store Compact Fabric Steamer in a cool, dry location.

MINERAL BUILD-UP
A common maintenance need for steam appliances is the removal of build-up caused by high mineral content in many municipal water supplies. This mineral build-up may cause the unit to spew water, limit the effectiveness and reduce the life of your Compact Fabric Steamer.

The best way to minimize mineral build-up is to use distilled or de- mineralized water when using your Compact Fabric Steamer. In addition, it is recommended that the Boiler be cleaned at least once a month in order to remove any deposits that form. This will help to extend the life of your Compact Fabric Steamer and keep it functioning at its maximum potential.

Maintenance:
After EACH USE, allow the unit to cool, add 1 oz. water, shake to release mineral buildup, and empty tank.
To remove mineral build-up:

  1. Unplug the power cord from an electrical outlet.
IMPORTANT: The unit should remain unplugged during a cleaning procedure.

  2. Allow unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).

  3. Remove Water Reservoir Cap and drain any water remaining in the Boiler into a sink or tub.

  4. Using a measuring cup, measure 4 oz. (118 ml.) of vinegar.

  5. Slowly pour vinegar into the Boiler.

  6. Allow the vinegar to soak in the Boiler for 30-40 minutes.

  7. Drain vinegar from the Boiler into a sink or tub. Refill Boiler with fresh water, drain and repeat until vinegar odor dissipates.

  8. Replace Water Reservoir Cap.

  9. Bundle power cord loosely and store Compact Fabric Steamer in a cool, dry location.
