Usage of the baby carrier
- This carrier is intended to be used by 1 child from birth till approx. 1 year with a weight of 3.2 kg till 11 kg and for front carry inward facing only.
- Only use this carrier with premature babies after medical consultation.
Safe baby wearing
- To enjoy a safe baby wearing journey always keep your attention on your baby and check the following points.
Tight
- The baby carrier should be comfortably tight, with the tummy and chest of the baby held close against your body. (2)
- Loose fabric or buckles can allow your baby to slump, which can make it difficult for them to breathe.
Always in view & open airway
- You should be able to see your baby’s face by glancing down. (3)
- Make sure that the fabric of your baby carrier is not in the way of their head and face. (3)
- Your baby should not be in a position where their chin is pushed onto their chest, as this can restrict breathing. Make sure you can put at least one finger between the chin and chest. (3)
Close enough to kiss
- Your baby should be positioned as high on your chest as you find comfortable. (4)
- If you tip your head forward, you should be able to kiss their forehead or the top of their head. (4)
Supported back
- Your baby’s back should be supported in its natural position. (5)
- To check if the back is well supported: place a hand on their back and gently press. The baby should not uncurl or move closer to you.
Healthy hip position
- To promote a healthy hip development, it is important to support your baby’s hips and thighs up to the knee. The baby’s legs should be in a ‘M’ position whith their knees higher than their bottom. (6)
How to put on, tighten & open the waist belt
- Place the waist belt around the waist area, with the inside of the waist belt facing you.
- Close the waist belt buckle in front. It is locked when you hear a click. (7)
- Tighten by pulling on both straps.
- Rotate the waist belt until the waist belt buckle is in the back.
- Tighten extra when necessary to make it tight enough.
- To open the waist belt buckle, press all three buttons simultaneously and release. (8)
How to use the shoulder strap buckles
- To close the shoulder strap buckles, slide the top part onto the bottom part from the side. (9, 10)
- To tighten the shoulder straps, pull the straps away from the shoulder strap buckle. (11)
- To loosen the shoulder straps, tilt the buckle forwards. (12)
- To disconnect the shoulder strap buckle, push the button at the front side of the buckle and pull the buckle forward to disconnect the shoulder strap buckle. (13, 14)
Front carry inward-facing with crossed (X) straps
- Tip! Practice the following steps with a doll or teddy bear until you feel confident.
- For small babies (up to approx. 5 months), use the upper button of the two leg support positions for knee-to-knee support and a good leg position. (15)
- As your baby grows (approx. 5 months and older), use the lower button of the two leg support positions. (15)
1. Place the waist belt around your waist. Connect the waist belt buckle in front. It is locked when you hear a click. Rotate the waist belt until the waist belt buckle is in the back. Tighten the waist belt. (16, 17, 18)
2. Place your baby facing you. (19)
3. Fit the main body of the baby carrier over the back of your baby. (20)
4. Take the right shoulder strap, cross it behind your back and connect it with the left shoulder strap buckle button. (21)
5. Do the opposite for the left shoulder strap. (22)
6. Both buckles are locked when you hear a click.
7. Tighten the shoulder straps. (23, 24, 25)
8. Tip: If you like, you can fan out the shoulder straps by pulling out the extra fabric from underneath it. To wear it with slimmer shoulder straps, tuck the extra fabric underneath the straps again. (26)
9. Check and correct baby’s posture with a pelvic tuck: place your hands inside the babycarrier low on your baby’s back. Move your hands down and towards you and rotate baby’s bottom so that baby’s crotch is angled towards you and the knees are raised. The spine of the baby should have a natural ‘C’ curve. (27)
10. For smaller babies, fold the head support down for good ventilation and air access while making sure their head is supported. Fasten the head support loops to the head support buttons. As your baby grows, fold the head support upwards. (28)
11. For more space around your baby’s head, you can make the shoulder straps more narrow by closing the shoulder strap narrowing buttons on each side.
12. To take the baby out follow the steps in reverse order. Always keep a hand on your baby.
