This document contains important safety and operating instructions. Please read these instructions carefully and save them for future reference.

Before using the battery charger, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on (1) the charger, (2) the battery, and (3) the radio using the battery.

WARNINGS

  1. To reduce risk of injury, charge only rechargeable Motorola Solutions authorized batteries. Other batteries could explode causing personal injury and or damage.
  2. Use of accessories not recommended by Motorola Solutions may result in risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.
  3. To reduce risk of damage to the electric plug and cord, pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger.
  4. To reduce risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, do not operate the charger if it has been broken or damaged in any way.
  5. Do not disassemble the charger – it is not repairable and replacement parts are not available. Disassembly of the charger may result in risk of electric shock or fire.

OPERATIONAL SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • This equipment is not suitable for outdoor use. Use only in dry locations/conditions.
  • Connect equipment only to an appropriately fused and wired supply of the correct voltage (as specified on the product).
  • Make sure the cord is located where it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or subjected to water, damage, or stress.
  • Output power from power supply unit must not exceed the ratings stated on the product label located on the bottom of the charger.
  • The equipment may become warm during operation. If it becomes hot to touch, unplug from the outlet immediately and discontinue use.

DESCRIPTION

The Vehicle Power Adapter is used to charge the Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries of the radio. The charger contains circuitry that monitors the battery temperature and adjusts the charge voltage to protect against overcharging and overheating. Frequent charging will not adversely affect the cycle life of the battery.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The Vehicle Power Adapter is not to be used with any other radio accessories except for the Remote Speaker Microphone.

Attaching the Vehicle Power Adapter :
(Refer to Figure 1 on page 5)

  1. Attach the accessory connector to the bottom end of the radio.
  2. Plug the Vehicle Power Adapter into the cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle.

Removing the Vehicle Power Adapter :
(Refer to Figure 1)

  1. Unplug the Vehicle Power Adapter from the cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle.
  2. Press the top of the accessory connector and pull away from the radio.
