Safety instructions
General safety instructions
WARNING! Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Machine-related safety instructions
- This charger can be operated by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of practical experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed to use the machine safely and understand the dangers of machine operation. Children are not allowed use or play with the machine.
- Do not open the battery pack or the charger. Even after disconnection from the mains, there is still a high capacitor voltage inside the charger.
- Make sure that metal objects (such as metal chips) or fluids do not enter the machine through the battery pack retaining slots (danger of short circuit).
- Do not charge battery packs from other manufacturers. The charger is designed for charging original battery packs only. Never charge the battery packs in chargers from other manufacturers. Otherwise there is a danger of fire and explosion.
- During charging, place the charger on a well-ventilated surface.
- Protect the machine from moisture.
- Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Check the plug and the cable regularly and should either become damaged, in order to avoid a hazard, have them replaced by an authorised after-sales service workshop.

- The mains voltage and the frequency of the power source must correspond with the specifications on the machine’s name plate.
- In North America, only Festool machines with the voltage specifications 120 V/60 Hz may be used.
Charging the battery pack [1]
Charge only battery packs that are designated for use with the charger. (see Intended use)!
The LED [1-3] on the charger indicates the respective operating status of the charger.

LED yellow – lit continuously
Charger is ready to use.

LED green – flashing quickly
Charging battery pack at maximum rate.

LED green – flashing slowly
Charging battery pack to 80% and with reduced current.

LED green – lit continuously
Charging process is charged.

General fault indicator, e.g. incomplete contact, short circuit, defective battery pack, etc.

Battery temperature is outside permissible limit values (0 °C to 55 °C).
Charger wall mount
The charger MXC has two elongated holes on its
back. It can be mounted on a wall using two screws (e.g. round head or flat
head screw with shank diameter of 5 mm) (see Fig. [1]).
Service and maintenance
Observe the following instructions:
- Keep the air slits on the machine and the charger free and clean to ensure adequate cooling.
- Keep the contacts on the machine, charger and battery pack clean.
