Check for transport damage.

Installation
Mark Door
Use the template enclosed to mark holes on the door face.
Drill Holes
- Drill 2-1/8″ (54 mm) holes from both sides of the door.
- Drill 1″ (25.4 mm) holes in the door edge for the latch.
- Drill a 23/64″ (8.5 mm) hole for the mounting screw of the exterior handle.
- To avoid splintering, drill holes from both sides.
Adjustable Latch for Top Deadbolt (optional)
To change latch faces
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to separate the face plate from back plate.
- Snap the selected face plate onto the back plate.
Drive-in installation
Make sure the round face plate is properly aligned as illustrated and snap it
to the latch case.
Latch backset adjustment
Rotate the latch case as illustrated for a backset of 2-3/4″ (70 mm) or in
reverse direction for a backset of 2-3/8″ (60 mm).
Adjustable Latch for Bottom Handle Lakht (optional)
- lf a 2-3/4″ (70 mm) backset is required, pull the spindle cam all the way to the right edge of the adjustment hole.
- Make sure the 2-3/4″ (70 mm) cam hole is properly aligned.
- The latch is now set for a 2-3/4″ (70 mm) backset. To reset the latch to a 2-3/8″ (60 mm) backset, push the spindle cam to the left end of the adjustment hole.
Latch face plate
- Determine which latch-mounting method will be used and make necessary adjustments.
- No adjustment is required for the square latch face plate.
Changing latch faces
- Use a flat screwdriver to separate the face plate.
- Snap the selected face plate onto the back plate.
Drive-in face plate installation
Remove the original face plate.
Align the round face plate with the latch bolt and push it inside the latch
bolt until you hear the catch click.
Install Latches
- Insert the latches in the holes, parallel to the edge of the door. Mark the outline and remove the latch.
- Chisel to a depth of 5/32″ (3.8 mm) until the latch face is flush with the edge of the door. Ensure that the cut-out is parallel to the edges of the door.
- Insert the bottom latch and secure it with the wood screws.
Install Exterior Handle
Place the exterior handle with the stems and square spindle into the latch as shown. Press tightly against the door face. Lift the exterior handle upwards, and press tightly against the door face.
Install Interior Handle
- Secure and fasten the interior mechanism firmly using screws as shown.
- Secure and fasten the washer and bottom screw.
- Fasten the lever screws into the lock around 3/4 range, then slightly lift the lever upwards and tighten the screws.
NOTICE
The maximum tightening torque of the bottom screw and lever screws is 8 Ibf- in.
Install Cylinder Deadlock and Trim
For single cylinder
- Insert the cylinder with decorative trim and press against the door face. Insert the tailpiece horizontally through the latch hole.
- Slide the mating trim onto the tailpiece and secure with machine screws.
Mark Jamb
- Close the door until the latchbolt touches the door jamb. Mark the door jamb as shown with a pencil.
- Center the strike plates on the door jamb.
Mark Outline of Strikes
- Measure only one-half of the door’s thickness starting from the door stop and vertically mark the center of the drill point center for the strike.
- Place the strikes in position and mark the outline of the strike plates.
Drill Holes and Install Strikes
- Drill a 1″ (25.4 mm) hole into the door jamb. Caution: To ensure proper lockset function, holes in the door jamb must be drilled 1″ (25.4 mm) deep.
- Chisel an outline for the strike plates that is 1/16″ (1.5 mm) deep, or until the plates are flush with the door jamb.
- Install the strike plates and secure with wood screws.
Steps to change the interior lever handing of the handleset
- Use a hex key to loosen the screw on the lever.
- Take out the lever and reverse it depending on door handling, then set it back as shown.
- Tighten the screw using a hex key.
NOTICE Make sure the lever screw is properly tightened, or it might become loose during daily operation.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Check the components regularly to make sure all screws and bolts are tightened.
Disposal
