Installation Guide for Electro Industries/GaugeTech’s B10U Optical Probe USB
Drivers
You need to install a driver to use the B10U in your computer for the first
time. Follow these instructions.

From the Optical Probe USB Drivers folder, open the folder for your operating system. In this example, we open Win7 & Win8 & Windows.

The folder contains CDMN files with configuration details – you can ignore these. Open the USB Driver Setup application.

You will see the screen shown below.

Click Extract to extract the installation files to your computer. You will see the screen shown below.

Click Next. You will see the screen below.

This screen shows the License Agreement for the driver. To continue installing the driver, click the button next to “I accept this agreement” and then click Next.

A window will briefly appear while the driver files are being installed and then you will see the screen shown below

Click Finish.

Connect the probe onto your meter’s optical port and to your PC’s USB port.

Open the PC’s Device Manager – either click Start>Settings>Control
Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager (older operating systems) or enter Device
Manager in the Search bar next to your Start menu and then click on the Device
Manager icon. -
The USB Serial Port shows the COM port that the B10U Optical probe is connected to.

Use that port to connect to the meter via the B10U, using CommunicatorPQA® software.
See the example connection screen below.
NOTE: You can also click the Available ports button in the Connect screen to locate the COM port the B10U is using.
