Features of your Steam Iron
Your Steam Iron
Before using your new Steam Iron, it is important that you read and follow the instructions in this booklet, even if you feel that you are quite familiar with this type of appliance. Find a place to keep this booklet handy for future reference. Your attention is drawn to the section dealing with Important Safeguards. This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power socket. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use.
Before First Use
When using the iron for the first time, test it on an old piece of fabric to ensure that the soleplate and water tank are completely clean. When using the iron for the first time, you may notice a slight emission of smoke and hear some sounds made by the expanding plastics. This is quite normal and it stops after a short time.
How to use your Steam Iron
Filling the tank with water:
CAUTION! Before filling the tank with water, make sure the appliance is
unplugged.
- This iron can be used with normal tap water.
- Use the water measuring cup to fill the tank. Never fill directly from the tap.
- If the water in your area is particularly hard, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water.
- Do not put vinegar, starch, chemicals, de-scaled water, or de-scaling agents in the water tank.
- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket before filling (or emptying) the iron with water.
NOTE: Wait for the iron to cool down before emptying or filling the water tank.
- Press the steam dial to [0] position, and the temperature control dial to the ‘OFF’ position.
-
Open the filler cap of the water inlet.
-
Place the iron on the heel rest and tilt forward at a 45° angle to help the water enter the opening without overflowing.
-
Pour water into the water tank opening and fill up to the maximum (MAX.) level and take care not to go over the maximum level (about 320ml) indicated by “MAX” on the water tank.
-
Close the filler cap of the water inlet. Setting the temperature:
-
Stand the iron on its end.
-
Set the variable temperature control dial to the desired temperature setting.
-
Insert the plugin into the wall socket and stand the iron upright.
-
When the desired temperature is reached the power indicator light will turn off, and you can begin ironing.
NOTE: While ironing, the power indicator light will turn on and off to maintain your desired temperature setting.
- If you set the temperature control to a lower setting after ironing at a high temperature, please allow time for the iron to cool. This is to prevent scorching your garment.
Spray function:
Press the spray button at any time to spray water on fabrics, as often as
required. Make sure that there is water in the tank. Press the spray button
slowly (for a dense spray) or quickly (for a vaporized spray).
WARNING: for delicate fabrics, we recommend moistening the fabric
beforehand using the spray function, or putting a damp cloth between the iron

fabrics.
NOTE: Ensure that there is enough water in the tank to use the spray
function. During first use, you may have to pump the spray button several
times to start the spraying function.
Steam ironing:
This function can be used only at higher ironing temperatures.
-
Ensure that there is enough water in the water tank.
CAUTION! Use the measuring cup supplied to fill the iron with water through the water inlet. Do not fill higher than the maximum level indicated on the water tank to prevent spillage of water while ironing. -
Set the variable temperature control to the required position within the ‘steam range’
•• for moderate steam
••• for maximum steam -
Once the required temperature has been reached, the power indicator light will turn off.
-
Move the steam dial to a position between minimum and maximum depending on the quantity of steam required and the temperature selected. steam should start coming out from the holes in the soleplate. The iron is ready to use.
CAUTION! The steam is very hot. DO NOT allow steam to come in contact
with your skin, face, or hands to avoid injury. Never direct steam at people
or animals.
Selecting hot steam and steam when ironing vertically:
Press the hot-steam button to generate a powerful burst of steam that can
penetrate the fabrics and smooth the most difficult and tough creases. Wait
for a few seconds before pressing again. By pressing the hot-steam button at
intervals you can also iron vertically (curtains, hung garments, etc.).
WARNING: the hot-steam function can only be used at high temperatures.
Stop the emission when the power indicator light comes on then start ironing

Anti Drip:
With a bimetal assembled inside the iron, which can close the steam when the
iron soleplate temperature becomes very low, so water leakage will never
happen with this feature.
Auto Shut-Off:
An electronic safety device will automatically switch the heating element off
if the iron has not been moved more than 30 seconds in a horizontal position.
If in a vertical position, this will happen after 8 minutes. To indicate that
the heating element has been switched off, the auto-off pilot light will start
blinking.
- When picking up the iron again, the auto-off pilot light will stop blinking. The power indicator light will turn on. This indicates that the iron is heating up again.

- Disconnect the iron from the power socket.
- Hold the iron upside down and gently shake to remove the remaining water.
NOTE: Take care not to scold yourself during this process.
Storage

Setting the Temperature – Fabric Guide
Read all garment labels when ironing and ensure the manufacturer’s ironing
guidelines are followed.
Always check the garment label for ironing instructions before ironing a
garment.
If the ironing instructions are missing, see the table below.
Sort your laundry: Wool with wool. Cotton with cotton, etc. Start ironing the
fabrics requiring the lowest temperature and progress to the higher ones
because the iron heats up quicker than it cools down.
NOTE: If the article to be ironed consists of various different fabrics,
always select the temperature required by the most delicate fabric.
