OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove all packing materials and stickers from the inside and outside of the kettle. Gently wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth or paper towel.
  2. To rinse the pot of any packing debris, boil and discard a pot of water (see How to Use, below).
  3. Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord, or the plug in water or any other liquids. The electrical connections and the On/Off switch must never come into contact with water or any other liquids.
  4. Read all instructions and follow them carefully.

HOW TO USE
The Easy-Fill Kettle is perfect for all your hot-water needs. With a hands- free lid for filling and a simple one-touch operation, water comes to a boil in just minutes.

  1. Wedge the power cord into the notch on the 360° swivel base so that the base sits flat. Place the base on a flat, sturdy surface away from water splashes and any sources of heat. Plug the cord into an outlet.
  2. Remove the kettle from the base if attached. Ensure that the lid is completely seated on the kettle. Stream water from a faucet (or pour with a pitcher) directly onto the lid valve (the clear plastic window in the lid). The valve will open and allow water to flow into the kettle. A forceful flow of water aimed at the front of the window will fill the kettle quickest.
  3. Fill with the desired amount of water, between the MIN fill line (0.5 L) and the MAX fill line (1.7 L). The valve will automatically close when you are finished filling the kettle. NOTE: Do not use the kettle to heat liquids other than water.
  4. Place the kettle on the base. Ensure that both the kettle and the base are steady on the surface. NOTE: If the kettle is not fully seated on the base, it will not turn on.
  5. Press the On/Off switch to turn the kettle on. Blue LED lights will illuminate around the base of the kettle. Small bubbles will begin to form as the water heats, then larger ones as it comes to a boil. Once the water boils, the kettle and the LED lights will automatically turn off. CAUTION: The kettle and water inside will be very hot. Handle with care. If you open the lid when there is hot water inside, do so carefully as hot steam may escape.
  6. Lift the kettle off the base and carefully pour the hot water into your desired cup or bowl.
  7. Return the kettle to the base. To reheat water, simply press the On/Off switch.

NOTE : When the kettle is brand new, the first pot of water boiled may have an unusual taste, which is why we recommend discarding it and boiling a fresh pot. If this problem continues, fill the kettle with water and 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Bring the water to a boil, let cool, then discard. Rinse with lukewarm water.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION: If the kettle starts to heat without enough water in it, it will automatically turn off to avoid potential damage.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING YOUR KETTLE
The Cordless Electric Kettle is easy to clean. Simply follow the directions below.

  1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely.

  2. Gently wipe down the exterior of the kettle with a damp cloth or paper towel.

  3. Empty any boiled water and rinse the inside with fresh water.
WARNING: Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord, or the plugin water or any other liquids.
IMPORTANT: The electrical connections and the On/Off switch must never come into contact with water or any other liquids.

  4. Dry completely.

HOW TO REMOVE MINERAL DEPOSITS
Over time, mineral deposits may accumulate on the inside of the kettle and cause discoloration or affect the taste of the boiled water. To remove the deposits, descaling is recommended at least once a month, or more regularly if your water is very hard. Use a commercial descaling solution or use this white vinegar method:
Fill the kettle one-quarter full with water. Add enough white vinegar to fill about halfway. Turn the kettle on and bring it to a boil. After the water comes to a boil and the kettle shuts off, let stand for 1 hour. Empty the kettle and rinse with water 5 to 6 times. Repeat if necessary.
