(power supply). Only use the device as described in the manual; otherwise, you
run the risk of an electric shock.
Position your device so that it can be disconnected from the power supply at
any time. The wall socket you use should be located near the device and easily
accessible, since the plug on the power cable serves as a disconnecting device
for the power supply.
Always pull on the plug to separate the device from the power supply. Never
pull on the cable.
Never bend, pinch or pull the power and connecting cables, extensions and
adapters. Protect the cables from sharp edges and heat.

improper power adapter.
What to do in case of a lamp break?
The quantity of mercury used for the light tubes and energy-saving lamps is very low. The consumer will get in contact with the mercury in case of a lamp break (broken flash tube). The quotation of mercury that may the customer get in contact with is very low and in most cases the concentration is below German limiting values.
When a lamp is broken, disconnect the light from the main power supply to avoid any electrical shock. As mercury is spreading at ground level, children and animals must leave the room immediatlely. Open the windows for ventilation and leave the room for approx. 15 minutes. It is also recommended to turn off heating, air conditioning, ventilators or wind machines.
After ventilation you will have plenty of time to take care of a thorough
cleaning. The remaining mercury will vaporize slowly under normal room
temeprture.
In case of a broken lamp the mercury can cling to fragments and vaporize in
the room during the time.
To prevent this take the following measures:
Put on disposable or household gloves.
Avoid violations due to glass fragments.
Sweep up all fragments with a cardboard, collect them in a container or bag
(e.g. preserving jar, plastic bag) and close it.
Use a moistened disposable household wipe or an adhesive tape to put up
smaller parts.
If you have used other utensils (e.g. a hand brush), wipe them with a
moistened cleaning cloth after use. Put the utensils out to air.
Dispose cleaning cloth and cardboard in a dustbin.
Please bring the container/bag with the glass fragments to your local
collecting point for used lamps. In the meantime, store it outdoors if
possible.
Use a vacuum cleaner if neccessary (e.g. on areas with carpets).
Air the room during the use of the vacuum cleaner and 15 minutes additionally after you have finished cleaning.
Dispose the bags or the dirt of the vacuum cleaner in a dustbin.
Clean the container of your vacuum cleaner thoroughly. Wipe the floor nozzle with a moistened cleaning cloth. To clean the vacuum cleaner, run it outdoors for approx. 15 minutes.
After all cleaning procedures have been finished, air the room again for a
some time.
Wash your hands thoroughly.
When carefully collecting the glass fragments in a closed container or bag and
storing it outdoors until its disposal, the mercury will not spread in the
room.
There will be no risk to your health.
