Work Area

  1. Keep your work area clean and well-lit.
    Cluttered dark areas invite accidents.

  2. The work area should have adequate drainage to reduce the possibility of a fall due to slippery surfaces.

  3. Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating the Sprayer.
    Distractions can cause you to lose control.

Electrical Safety

  1. Connect to breaker/fuse protected, switch-controlled circuit if permanently installing the pump. Do not use with longer or thinner wires than those provided.
  2. Do not connect when wet or while standing on damp/wet ground.
  3. Make sure the Harness is disconnected from the Pump Wiring before connecting to the 12VDC power supply.
  4. Connect to 12VDC power supply only. Different voltage may cause motor/wiring damage, fire, or electric shock.

Personal Safety

  1. Follow all guidelines regarding chemicals sprayed, including MSDS instructions and EPA regulations.

  2. If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid enters eye, immediately flood eye with running cold water for a minimum of 10 minutes and get medical attention immediately.

  3. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the Sprayer. Do not use the Sprayer while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the Sprayer may result in serious personal injury.

  4. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair.

  5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
    Proper footing and balance enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.

  6. Always wear eye protection. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles while connecting the battery and during operation.

Use

  1. Use only for water or water-based fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and sealers. Do not use to spray combustible or corrosive chemicals.
  2. Do not point the Sprayer at yourself, other people or animals.
  3. Industrial applications must follow OSHA requirements.
  4. Make sure the liquid used in the Sprayer is not dirty or sandy.
  5. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with or near this item.
  6. Use as intended only.
  7. Inspect before every use; do not use if parts are loose or damaged.
  8. Maintain product labels and nameplates. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
  9. The warnings and cautions discussed in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. The operator must understand that common sense and caution are factors that cannot be built into this product but must be supplied by the operator.

Service

  1. Have your Sprayer serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.
  2. Store idle tools and equipment out of reach of children and other untrained people. Tools and equipment are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
  3. Maintain the Sprayer with care. Keep this product clean. A properly maintained Sprayer is easier to control.

Components and Controls

Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual.

Assembly and Installation Instructions

**** Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this document including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

Assembly

  1.  Attach Wand Clips with Screws (17).
  2. Attach Hose to Pump Discharge Port using Hose Clamp (9).
  3. Tighten Clamp with a screwdriver (not included).
  4. Push Seal (14) into Drain Cap with the smooth side facing in.
  5. Push large ring of Drain Cap Tether (19) over drain tube as far as it will go.
  6. Thread Drain Cap onto drain tube.
  7. Push small ring of Tether over nub on Drain Cap.
  8. Push the pointed end of the Lid Tether (18) up through the Tank Lid.
  9. Thread Tank Lid onto Tank.
  10.  Push the pointed end of Tether through the Tether Hole, then pull back on Tether to make sure it is secure.

Installation

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:
Refer to mounting vehicle’s owner’s manual for vehicle load rating and safety instructions regarding driving while carrying a load.

  1. Before filling with liquid, mount the Sprayer to the vehicle’s rack, making sure that the Battery Clamps can reach the 12VDC source.
  2. Attach Tank Bottom Mounts to rack with mounting hardware (sold separately) from the Specifications chart.
  3. Then, secure with two 1″ wide ratchet straps (sold separately).

Operating Instructions

**** Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this document including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.

WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:
Follow all guidelines regarding chemicals sprayed, including MSDS instructions and EPA regulations. Note: Before first use, spray half a tank full of water through the Sprayer.

  1. Remove Tank Lid and fill Tank, through a strainer (sold separately), no higher than top fill line. Replace Tank Lid.
    WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY: Connect to breaker/fuse protected, switch-controlled circuit if permanently installing the pump.
    Do not use with longer or thinner wires than those provided.
    Do not connect when wet or while standing on damp/wet ground.

  2. Make sure the Harness is disconnected from the Pump Wiring.

  3. Connect the Battery Clamps to the 12VDC source. Connect the red Clamp to the positive (+) post and connect the black Clamp to the negative (-) post.

  4. Connect the Harness to the Pump wiring.

  5. Note: The pump operates on demand; it will run while the Trigger is depressed and stop when the trigger is released.

  6. Point the Nozzle toward the area to be sprayed, then depress the Trigger to begin spraying.
    Note: Stop spraying, then turn the Nozzle to adjust the spray pattern.

  7. For continuous spray, depress the Trigger and engage the Trigger Lock. To stop continuous spray, disengage the Trigger Lock and release the Trigger.

  8. When finished spraying:
    a. Disconnect the Harness from the Pump Wiring.
    b. Disconnect the Battery Clamps from the 12VDC source.
    c. Dispose of liquid according to manufacturer guidelines.
    d. Clean the Sprayer according to Maintenance Instructions.

Inspection, Maintenance, and Cleaning

**** Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician.

WARNING TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION:
Disconnect Battery Clamps before performing any procedure in this section.
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise, vibration, or leaking air occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
Follow all guidelines regarding chemicals sprayed, including MSDS instructions and EPA regulations.

  1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Sprayer. Check for:
    • loose hardware,
    • misalignment or binding of moving parts,
    • cracked or broken parts, and
    • any other condition that may affect its safe operation.

  2. AFTER EVERY USE, clean the Sprayer:
    a. Open Drain Cap to drain liquid from the tank.
    b. Flush Sprayer with water.
    c. Clean Nozzle and Inlet Filter (10).
    d. Rinse with water and allow to air-dry.

  3. Store the Sprayer in a safe, dry, clean location out of reach of children and out of sunlight.
    Note: When storing the Sprayer for an extended period of time, anti- freeze added to the rinse water will leave a rust-inhibiting film in the Sprayer.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Causes Likely Solutions
Unit does not spray 1. Power not connected.

2. Internal Hose (16) detached.
3. Not enough liquid in tank.
4. Spray fluid contains particles or sand.
5. Nozzle and/or Inlet Filter clogged with mineral buildup.| 1. Connect power.

4. Disassemble, clean, then reassemble Nozzle and/or Inlet Filter (10). Empty, clean, then refill Tank with properly strained fluid.
5. Disassemble, clean, then reassemble Nozzle and/or Inlet Filter.
Spray pattern is uneven| 1. Nozzle needs adjustment.
2. Spray fluid contains particles or sand.
3. Nozzle and/or Inlet Filter clogged with mineral buildup.| 1. Adjust Nozzle.
2. Disassemble, clean, then reassemble Nozzle and/or Filter. Empty, clean, then refill Tank with properly strained fluid.
3. Disassemble, clean, then reassemble Nozzle and/or Inlet Filter.
**** Follow all safety precautions whenever diagnosing or servicing the Sprayer.

We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
