1.1 Liability and damage
The product may only be operated by persons who are familiar with the
operating instructions, the product, and the national legislation,
regulations, and requirements pertaining to work, safety, and accident
prevention. We accept no responsibility for any physical or material damage
caused by untrained personnel, failure to observe the regulations pertaining
to work, safety, or accident prevention. On the basis of the information
provided in these operating instructions, Albert Kerbl GmbH shall not be held
liable for any direct damage or consequential damage arising from improper
operation or maintenance. For your own safety, only use original spare parts
and accessory products. Albert Kerbl GmbH accepts no responsibility for the
use of other products and resulting damage. The information, illustrations,
and descriptions in this manual cannot be used to make any claims for changes
to products already delivered.
1.2 Duty to provide information
These operating instructions should be regarded as part of the dosing device.
Even if the packing system is subsequently passed on by the customer, the
operating instructions must also be included and the recipient must be
instructed with reference to these requirements. Only the procedures specified
in the operating instructions are safe.
- Section 2, “Basic safety instructions”, must be read in full and complied with before using the product for the first time.
- Before starting work, the relevant sections of the operating instructions must be read and complied with.
- The operating instructions must be kept in a place accessible to machine users.
Basic safety instructions
Failure to comply with the safety instructions and warning information can result in danger to persons, the environment, and material assets.
- The dosing device must be checked for obvious damage and defects after every day of use!
- Only use the dosing device if all of the safety and protective devices are fully installed and functional!
- Before every commissioning operation, check that the locking mechanisms fit perfectly and are secure.
- In the event of damage that could impair safety, the dosing device must immediately be sent for repair!
- If faults occur that may impair safety, the dosing device must be shut down immediately.
- Changes to the dosing device must only be carried out following consultation with and the express permission of the manufacturer!
- Only original spare parts must be used!
- The maintenance intervals specified in this manual must be observed!
Direct unauthorized persons out of the hazard area!
Never walk or stand under suspended loads!
Repair the dosing device only if you have the necessary qualifications
Only operate the dosing device in a normal mental state, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol!
2.1 Intended use
The packing system is built according to the state of technological art and
recognized safety regulations. Nevertheless, its use may cause danger to the
life and limb of the user or third parties, or damage to the product or other
material assets.
Danger!
The dosing device must be used exclusively in accordance with its intended
use and in a technically safe condition!
The operational safety of the product is only guaranteed if it is used for
its intended purpose!
Improper use can lead to damage to the dosing device, for which Albert Kerbl GmbH cannot accept any liability. The packing system is intended exclusively for use in agriculture and may only be used if:
- All safety devices described in the operating instructions are present and in a protective position.
- All safety instructions in the operating instructions are observed and complied with, both in the section on safety, “Basic safety instructions”,
and directly in the sections of the operating instructions.
The operating instructions are part of the packing system and must therefore be kept for consultation during its use. The packing system may only be operated after instruction and in accordance with these operating instructions. Uses of the packing system not described in the operating instructions may result in serious physical injury or death and damage to property. Unauthorized modifications to the packing system can have a negative effect on the properties of the dosing device or interfere with its proper functioning. Unauthorized modifications, therefore, release the manufacturer from any liability arising from this. Proper use also includes compliance with the operating, maintenance, cleaning, and servicing conditions specified by the manufacturer.
2.2 Reasonably foreseeable misuse
Any use other than that specified under “Intended use or use beyond this” is
considered improper use! The manufacturer/supplier accepts no liability for
any damage resulting from this.
Hazards can arise in cases of improper use!
Such misuses include, for example:
- Exceeding the technical values specified for normal operation.
- Failure to observe safety labels on the product and safety instructions in the operating instructions.
- Performing troubleshooting, adjustment, cleaning, repair, and maintenance work contrary to the instructions in the operating instructions.
- Unauthorized modifications of the device.
- Installation of prohibited/unapproved additional equipment.
- Use of non-original spare parts.
2.3 Conversions or modifications:
In the event of unauthorized conversions and modifications (e.g. welding on
load-bearing parts) to the attachment, any liability and warranty on the part
of the manufacturer will be rendered void! Therefore, do not make any changes
or additions to the packing system without consultation and the written
consent of the manufacturer.
2.4 Spare and wear parts as well as auxiliary materials
The use of spare and worn parts or auxiliary materials from third-party
manufacturers can lead to hazards. The manufacturer accepts no liability for
any damage caused by the use of these parts! Therefore, use only original
parts or parts approved by the manufacturer.
2.5 Training of operating personnel
In order to avoid accidents, every person working with the dosing device must
meet the following minimum requirements:
- They are physically capable of handling the packing system.
- They can carry out the work with the packing system within the scope of these operating instructions in a safe manner.
- They understand the operation of the packing system in the context of their work and are able to recognize and avoid the dangers of the work.
- They are familiar with the safe driving of vehicles (in order to lift the Big Bag).
- For road transport, they have sufficient knowledge of the rules of the road and the required driving license.
2.6 Personal protective equipment
The operator must provide the following personal protective equipment.
- Safety shoes with toe cap
- Close-fitting protective clothing
- Safety and protective equipment
- Gloves
****Only operate the packing system if all protective and safety devices are fully present and functional!
Operational safety
3.1 Ensuring a technically perfect condition
Improper maintenance and adjustment can affect the operational safety of the
packing system and cause accidents with physical injury.
- Carry out all maintenance and adjustment work according to the relevant section
- Stop and secure the carrier vehicle before carrying out any maintenance or adjustment work
3.2 Hazards from damage to the packing system
Damage to the packing system can affect its operational safety and cause
accidents with physical injury. The following device components are
particularly important for safety:
- Safety devices
- Connecting devices
In cases of doubt about the operational safety of the packing system, for example in the event of visible damage:
- Stop and secure the carrier vehicle.
- Immediately eliminate possible causes of damage, e.g. remove coarse soiling or tighten loose screws.
- Determine the cause of damage according to these operating instructions.
- Repair the damage as described in these operating instructions.
- In the event of damage that cannot be repaired by the user in accordance with these operating instructions:
- Have damage been repaired by a qualified specialist workshop?
3.3 Safety and protective devices
The following safety and protective devices are installed on the packing
system:
Before using the packing system, check that all screwed and riveted joints are tight. Otherwise, safety is not guaranteed!
If safety devices are faulty
Faulty safety devices can lead to dangerous situations. For this reason:
- Stop the device (front loader) immediately
- Secure against being reused
Check the safety and protective devices
All safety and protective devices must be checked on a regular basis. Inspection intervals according to the table:

3.4 Operating personnel workstation
The most important workstation is the driver’s seat of the vehicle and the
dosing device itself to open and close it.

3.5 Hazard areas
A hazard area is created around the machine during operation. Persons must not
be present in the hazard area of operating vehicles. The hazard area of 5
meters is the area around the operating vehicle in which persons can be
reached by work-related movements of the machine, its working equipment, and
attachments, or by loads swinging out, loads falling, or working equipment
falling down. The machine operator may only carry out work with the operating
vehicle if there are no persons in the hazard area. The machine operator must
give warning signs if there is a danger to persons.

This section provides a comprehensive overview of the device’s structure and function.
Areas of use
With the dosing device, disposable Big Bags can be easily dosed and emptied.
The dosing device is also suitable for feed, fertilizer, seeds, pellets, salt,
gravel, and granulate.

The dosing device enables the easy and effortless emptying and dosing of
disposable Big Bags.

The equipment is part of the design and may differ from your design!
Design and function
- The dosing device is made of high-strength and fully galvanized steel.
- The barbed hooks are made of polyurethane and are riveted to the dosing device.
- On the slider, there are handles that serve as protection and make it easier to grip.
Handling and operation
Read carefully. If you have any questions or if you do not understand the instructions, please contact the manufacturer to avoid operating errors.
- When not in use, the safety cap must be present on the product.
- Make sure the substrate is stable.
- Never lift the Big Bag on a slope.
- The driving speed must always be adapted to the surrounding conditions.
- Avoid sudden turns when driving uphill or downhill and crossing a slope.
- Driving behavior, steering, and braking ability is influenced by the devices and ballast weights.
- Therefore ensure sufficient steering and braking power!
Handling the packing system
Direct unauthorized persons out of the hazard area below the Big Bag. Make a
visual inspection of the entire floor area around the front loader/forklift.
6.1 Work assignments
General safety and operating instructions
Below, some general safety and operating instructions for the operation of the
dosing unit are summarised repeatedly for ease of understanding:
- Before commissioning, move all attached protective devices into a protective position!
- Put all of the equipment in the transport position before traveling by road!
- During use, no persons may be present in the hazard area!
- Observe the manufacturer’s instructions!
- Keep children away!
- Secure the carrier vehicle against rolling away when parking!
Operation

Place the dosing device on a firm and stable surface. Lift the Big Bag with the loops provided for this purpose, e.g. using a front loader, and position it centrally over the dosing device.

Lower the Big Bag slowly and carefully so that the dosing device can slowly penetrate the Big Bag. As soon as the dosing device has engaged, the Big Bag can be lifted again.
If the Big Bag is set down too quickly or the ground is uneven → no warranty! -
To make opening and closing the device easier, it is recommended to pull it down a little by hand until it is securely seated.

The dosing device’s simple opening and closing mechanism enable effortless dosing and emptying of the disposable Big Bag. The slider is opened towards the operator.
6.2 Servicing and maintenance
****Read this section carefully before starting maintenance! Below you will
find information on troubleshooting and machine maintenance. Regular
maintenance according to the maintenance schedules is an essential
prerequisite for efficient operation.

Proper maintenance helps to ensure smooth and efficient use of the product.
Operating personnel can perform this work after appropriate training.

General instructions:
- For work devices, check screw connections after the first 5 hours of operation
- If necessary, re-tighten all loose screw connections
Check safety equipment
All devices for stopping in an emergency and safety devices must be tested
individually and separately from each other. In the event of faulty safety
devices, the packing system must be shut down immediately and secured against
re-use.
Attention – the danger of damage!
Road salt is very aggressive and can damage corrosion protection.
Therefore in winter:
- Wash the device more often
- Carefully wash off road salt residues
- Check corrosion protection more frequently and, if necessary, have it renewed
6.3 Troubleshooting
Take special care when correcting errors!
- Fault: Slider cannot be opened or closed
- Remedy: Check the screw, replace or retighten if necessary
Storage conditions
The dosing device must be stored horizontally. Never store it with the tip
pointing upwards, otherwise, there is a high risk of injury. The protective
cap on the tip may only be removed during commissioning.
6.4 Disposal and recycling
****Separate machine parts and electronic components by type and dispose of
them properly. Separate all parts, auxiliary and operating materials of the
machine according to type and dispose of them in accordance with local
regulations and guidelines.
