Flame Protected Handles –
• Always make sure handles are dry and cool before lifting. Use both handles at all times when carrying or transferring the pressure cooker. If needed, use extra precautions like kitchen mitts or towels to help with gripping. Always make sure handles are dry before use. -
Safety Valve –
• The safety valve checks the inside pressure and locks the lid when in use.
• When the pressure lowers, the valve will dropdown. The lid is now safe to -
Pressure Indicator –
• Lets you know if the pressure inside the cooker pot is at its optimal level.
• Two Functions:
• White Line – Pressure is at an optimal level.
• Red Line – There is an excessive build-up of pressure inside the pot. -
Pressure Regulator –
• In working mode the regulator wiggles to release steam to help stabilize the pressure inside. -
Control Knob –
• When closing the lid, there will be a click audibly to ensure it is in place. The lid can only be unlocked when there is no longer any pressure, by turning the control knob clockwise. -

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Recommended Before First Use
a) Before using the ExcelSteel Pressure Cooker for the first time, wash
the body, the lid, and the silicone gasket with warm soapy water.
b) Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
c) When ready to use, make sure the silicone gasket is seated probably
inside the lid.
d) Pressure cooker is now ready to use.
Important Note : Pressure cooker is dishwasher safe. The lid is top-rack dishwasher safe only. Normal Operations
(1) For best results, always check to see that the vent pipe is not
blocked. If it is, use a small stick to clean. Make sure the safety valve is
clean and moves freely. The gasket must be put on in the correct position.
Check to make sure there are no dents or cracks in your pressure cooker. If
you find any defects in the product, do not use the pressure cooker.
(2) Add food and liquid into the cooker’s body. Each amount of food has a
different amount of water needed. Most food requires at least 1/4 L of liquid
(water, sauce, or stock) to generate necessary steam when using the pressure
cooker. A combination of food and water should not exceed the 2/3 (max line)
of the cooker. (Fig. A)
It is recommended when cooking rice, vegetable, and beans, the food should not exceed 1/3 of the pressure cooker’s volume. (Fig. A-1)
IMPORTANT: Clean immediately after cooking.
(3) Close the lid by gently turning the control knob until it clicks and
clamps have locked securely onto the pressure cooker.
(4) Place on strong heat. Once the cooker pot has pressure, the safety
valve will rise and lock the device. It will take several minutes until steam
releases. It is normal to see steam from the safety valve in the beginning. If
steam continues to emit through the safety valve, stop use and refer to (Pg.
12) for solutions.
Cooking time starts when the regulator begins to emit steam:
- If the regulator stops emitting the steam during cooking, increase the heat as needed.
- If the regulator emits excessive steam too quickly, reduce the heat source.
- If the cooker has pressure inside, the safety valve will rise up, and a red cap will appear from the hole. The safety valve will automatically emit steam to regulate pressure.
IMPORTANT:
When using it on an electric stovetop, the source of heat must be less than or
equal to the diameter of the pot. (Fig. B)
When using it on a gas stove, the flame ring must not exceed the base of the diameter. A gas flame that goes over the cooker pot may damage the handles. (Fig. C)
*Please keep handles in an upright position during cooking.
(5) In the event of strong excess pressure in your pressure cooker
resulting from a block in the regulator and safety valve, the gasket is
designed to deform itself through the safety window (rectangular window) on
the side of the lid. This deformation will cause the pressure to drop in the
product.
• If this safety window is triggered, immediately turn of source of heat.
• Once pressure has gone down, check to see if the regulator has been
blocked. (Pg. 11 – Cleaning the pressure regulator, vent-pipe and safety
valve)
• Go back to #1 and check pressure cooker pieces before restarting.
6) At the end of the cooking time, switch off the stovetop. Gradually the
pressure cooker will steam off and the pressure will release itself.
• To instantly speed the cooling process:
i. Turn the regulator to release mode by turning it until the arrows point to
the steam icon.
i. Push down the pressure indicator to help release steam.
ii. Put the cooker on a flat surface and cool with mild flowing water. (Fig.
E)
(7) Wait until all steam has escaped before opening the pot. Slowly open the lid, by turning the control knob counterclockwise. Do not try to force the lid open.
(8) After use, wash pieces thoroughly and dry immediately. See (Pg.11) for cleaning information.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and replacing the silicone gasket:
To clean the gasket, rinse it under warm running water and dry it. Clean all
the impurities in the gasket. Completely dry the gasket before re-installing.
Install
the gasket in its proper position. As soon as the gasket starts deteriorating,
it should be replaced. Do not use a pressure cooker.
Cleaning the pressure regulator, vent-pipe, and safety valve:
If the regulator, vent-pipe, and safety valve are jammed, remove the regulator
cap, and use a small stick to clean the vent and make sure the water can pass
easily. Check to see if the anti-block screw is securely fastened. The safety
valve should drop freely when put back correctly.
It is important to clean the pressure regulator, vent-pipe, and safety valve on a regular basis. If any of the pieces are broken, do not use a pressure cooker. Replace any broken pieces immediately.
Cleaning the cooker pot and lid:
Use warm soapy water to clean dirty areas. Don’t use a metal brush to clean
the cooker to prevent damage to the surface. Dry thoroughly. The cooker pot is
dishwasher safe. The lid is top-rack dishwasher safe only.
