    Getting Started and Operation
    Note:

    • The charger automatically recognises faulty batteries and does not charge these for safety reasons.
    • When the power supply is active, “power” appears in the display. The charger is now ready for use.
    • Charging rechargeable batteries: While batteries are being charged, their charge level is shown. Steady bars on the charge level indicator indicate the current charge level; the flashing bar indicates charging in progress. When all 3 bars are steady, the corresponding battery or batteries are fully charged.
    • Charging USB terminal devices: While a USB terminal device is being charged, all 3 bars flash. Read the current charge level from your terminal device. If the USB output current is less than 90 mA, then nothing is shown on the display. The display is activated only if the USB output current is more than 90 mA.
    • Charging rechargeable batteries and a USB terminal device: While rechargeable batteries a USB terminal device are being charged simultaneously, the charge level of the batteries is displayed.
  • Remove batteries from the charger once they are fully charged.

  • Disconnect all cable and mains connections after use.

Charging Li-ion batteries
  • Open the slide cover of the charger completely until it locks into place.

    Charging Li-ion batteries

  • Insert the battery into the charger (Pic. 3). The charger automatically recognises the polarity of the Li-ion battery.

  • Unlock the sliding cover by pressing the red unlock button. Close the cover so that the battery is held firmly between the contacts.

  • If the display does not show the charge level correctly, check and adjust the contacts.

Charging NiMH batteries (AA/AAA cells)
  • Open the slide cover of the charger completely until it locks into place.

  • When charging NiMH batteries, observe the correct polarity indicated on the battery symbols. Insert the NiMH battery with the correct polarity (Pic. 4).
    Charging NiMH batteries \(AA/AAA cells\)

  • Unlock the slide cover by pressing the rote release button and then close the slide cover so that the particular battery is held securely and is touching the contacts.

  • If the display does not show the charge level correctly, check and adjust the contacts.

  • Only one type of battery (AA or AAA) may be charge at the same time. Varying battery charge capacities (as measured in mAh) are of no concern.

USB charging option
  • Connect the terminal device to be charged to the USB port of the charger directly or using a suitable USB cable. (Fig. 5) “USB power” appears in the display.
    USB charging option

  • Charging of the terminal devices begins and ends automatically.

  • The display reads as described in 4. Getting Started and Operation

Warning – Connecting terminal devices

  • Before connecting a terminal device, check whether the power output of the charger can supply sufficient power for the device.
  • The USB charging option supplies a maximum of 5 V 1000 mA.
  • Please refer to the operating instructions for your terminal device.
  • It is essential that you observe these specifications and the safety instructions regarding the power supply of your devices.
Simultaneous charging

Whether the power supply comes from mains power or a vehicle charging cable, you may simultaneously charge a Liion/NiMH rechargeable battery and a USB terminal device.
