Get the EZVIZ App

  1. Connect your mobile phone to Wi-Fi (suggested).
  2. Download and install the EZVIZ app by searching for “EZVIZ” in the App Store or Google Play™.
  3. Launch the app and register an EZVIZ user account.

If you have already used the app, please make sure that it is the latest version. To find out if an update is available, go to the app store and search for “EZVIZ”.

Preparations

  1. Detach Cover
    Detach the cover of the detector at the detaching groove.

  2. Remove Insulation Strip
    Remove the battery insulation strip as instructed in the figure below.

  • When the battery level is low, the low battery notification will be pushed to the EZVIZ app to remind you to replace batteries.
  • If you need to replace batteries, please purchase two CR1632 batteries.
  • When replacing batteries, please insert with the positive side facing up.

Add Device

The open/close detector should be used along with EZVIZ Smart Gateway (after referred to as “gateway”). Please add the gateway to the EZVIZ cloud, and then add the detector to the gateway by the following two methods.

Method One: Add by Scanning QR Code
  1. Log in to your account through the EZVIZ app, tap the device adding an icon, and then the QR code scanning interface will be displayed.

  2. Scan the QR code on the inner side of the cover or on the user manual, and then add the detector to the controller.

  3. Place the detector as displayed in the figure below.

  4. Place the cover back.

 Method Two: Add by the Gateway

When adding a detector by the gateway, place the detector as close to the gateway as possible.

  1. Make the gateway enter device adding mode as instructed by the user manual of the gateway
  2. Press and hold the RESET button for over 5 seconds until the indicator on the detector flashes rapidly blue, and then the detector will enter adding mode.
  3. The detector will be added to the gateway automatically.

Installation

  •  The detector must be placed away from the magnetic field, and when doors or windows are closed, the distance between the detector and the magnet should be less than 20mm.
  •  Before sticking the detector, clean the dust on the surface of the door or window first. Do not stick the detector on limewashed walls.
  • The installation instruction grooves on the detector and magnet should be placed together and aligned (as displayed in the figure below).
  • The installation height does not exceed 2m.
  •  The working temperature range of the detector is -10°C~55°C.
  1. Select a place where the detector can be installed.
  2. Remove the protective film on the back of the detector, and fix the detector on the place you have selected by the double-sided tape.
  3. Press the detector for about 20 seconds.
