RCO1 Remote Controller
Thank you for purchasing this product. To ensure proper use and trouble-free operation, please read this manual carefully and store it in a safe place for future reference.
Introduction
The RCO1 is a dedicated remote controller for the X-Sense XS01-WR wireless
interlinked smoke alarms. It easily controls the paired smoke alarms, sparing
users the effort of straining and reaching up to the ceiling for alarm testing
and silencing.
Note: The X-Sense XSOI-WR wireless interlinked smoke alarms are not
included in the package. Please purchase them individually.
Important Safety Instructions and Guidelines
- Do not hold the test button for an extended period of time or press repeatedly.
- Do not modify this device under any circumstances.
- Only use the batteries specified and be sure to match the polarity marking.

Operating Instructions
Battery Installation
Open the rear cover by inserting the included key into the notch at the bottom
of the remote controller’s backside and pry open. Peel off the insulating film
on the button cell. Ensure the correct polarity of the battery and close the
cover.
Pair the Remote Controller with the X-Sense Alarm
- Press the test button 4 times to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the remote controller will flash continuously.
- Once pairing is successful, the LED indicator will light up and then go out in about 3 seconds, indicating that the controller has exited pairing automatically. Alternatively, you can press the test button again to exit pairing.
Test the Wireless Interconnection Between Alarms
- Hold the test button while within wireless range. The LED indicator on the remote controller will flash.
- After the alarms have received a signal (takes about 7 seconds), their LED indicators will flash and the alarms will sound continuously.
- Release the test button. The LED indicator on the remote controller will stop flashing, indicating that the testing has ended.
Silence the Alarms
Simply press the test button to silence the alarms when non-emergency smoke
(e.g. steam) causes nuisance alarms.
During an alarm state, press the test button once and all the interlinked
alarms but the initiating alarm will be silenced. Press again to silence the
initiating alarm. The LED indicator on the remote controller will blink blue
with each press.
Test the Remote Controller’s Power Status
In standby mode (non-alarming state), when you press the test button, the LED
indicator on the remote controller will blink blue, indicating normal power
supply.

Troubleshooting
Issue| Possible Cause|
Solution

The indicator on the remote controller does not light up when you press
the button.| The insulating film on the battery has not been peeled oft| Peel
off the insulating film.
The battery is not properly installed.| Take out the battery and install it
again. Make sure the contacts are good.

Out of range or interference from the environment/ other devices.| Move to a
closer location or another place and try again.
Note: The range of the remote controller is dependent on many factors. Actual operational distance will vary based on the actual operating environment or other environmental factors, and other nearby electronic devices. Avoid signal blockage or interference. Electromagnetic waves generated by appliances like Ns, induction cookers or microwave ovens may disrupt normal signal transmission and affect the operational wireless range.
Disposal
This product must not be disposed of as household waste. Dispose of the device at an authorized collection point for the recycling of electrical appliances.
