The Avian-X Smart Motion decoy can be remotely controlled by either the provided hardware remote or from your mobile device through the Avian-X FactorTM app. The hardware remote controls the decoy’s simplest functions, but to harness the full customization and control of the decoy you’ll want to download and use the mobile app.

  1. After you’ve assembled the decoy and powered it on, flip the switch on the underside of the decoy to “Remote/App”.

  2. Download the Avian-X FactorTM app from the Apple app store or Google Play.

  3. Register a new account or log in.

  4. To add a Smart Motion decoy, locate the “Decoys” tab in the footer navigation. Click “ADD” in the upper right-hand corner to pair to the decoy. Add as many decoys as you’d like in the app using this method.

  5. Name the decoy, select the desired mode, start and stop this single decoy all within that individual decoy’s device card.

LINKING MULTIPLE DECOYS

For larger spreads and maximum attraction, you can link multiple decoys into a group to be controlled together. Click “Edit” (the pen) on the right side of the decoy card and toggle the “Link to group” switch.

CUSTOM MODES

Each decoy can be customized specifically to your liking, weather conditions, and overall spread setup. Mixing multiple decoys’ with different custom modes can also add to the overall realism of your spread. Navigate to “Profile” in the main footer navigation and select “custom modes”. Add consecutive steps specifying wing rotation, speed, duration, and the time delay between each step.

SOUND ACTIVATION

The Sound Activation feature uses your mobile device’s microphone to listen for, and analyze, the sound of a duck or goose call. Once heard the sound will automatically activate a function of the decoy. This conserves battery life during slow activity and is also realistic to approaching birds.

FACTORY RESET

Should you need to pair a different or new mobile device to your decoy there is a small red button on the decoy itself. This red reset button will return the decoy to factory settings. To reset, hold the red button down until the red light flashes and releases. The light should then turn green indicating the decoy is fully reset.
