Introduction
With this all-in-one cat GPS tracker, you can monitor your cat in real time around the clock and keep them active. The bundle includes activity tracking, virtual fences that warn you if your cat leaves a safe area, and fantastic coverage. You can track your cat’s whereabouts at all times using your Tractive GPS Cat Tracker if you subscribe to an all-costs-covered plan. This GPS cat collar weighs only 1.2 oz. and is completely waterproof, making it ideal for your cat’s outdoor escapades.
HOW IT WORKS
With the help of a little device called Tractive GPS, you can locate your pet on your phone or their website and attach it to any collar (or possibly a harness, too). With a 95% confidence level and an accuracy of 7.8 m (25 ft.), it uses GPS satellites to pinpoint the location.
HOW TO TURN ON
You only need to press the main power button for 3 seconds to switch on your Tractive GPS tracker. To show that the tracker is turned on, the LED light will flash green.
HOW TO CONNECT TO PHONE
Ensure that your Tractive GPS tracker is activated and close by your smartphone. Tap on Activity at the bottom of the screen when the Tractive GPS app is open. Finally, activate the sync by pressing the refresh button in the top right corner of the screen.
HOW TO CHARGE
Plug one end of charging cable into the tracker and the other end into a phone charger. Plug the charger into a wall socket. Red LED light flashes which means that the tracker is charging,
HOW TO KNOW IF TRACKER IS FULLY CHARGED
The LED on your tracker will turn red as it charges. The red light will either go away or be replaced by a green light when the battery is fully charged. The LED will typically turn red in a few seconds to show that charging is happening.
HOW TO ATTACH
- Your dog or cat should be free of its collar.
- The collar should be positioned between the clip and the collar mount.
- The clip is secured to the mount.
- Make sure the Tractive gadget is securely fastened to the mount before attaching it.
FAQs
What is the difference between the cat tracker and the dog tracker?****
The main difference between the two devices is the attachment mechanism – the CAT 4/LTE comes with a rubber collar attachment/sleeve. Instead of being mounted onto the collar with a plastic clip, the device is placed inside the rubber sleeve and the collar is threaded through the loops.
Can I use my own sim without your service?****
This isn’t possible, no. The SIM card in the tracker cannot be exchanged. Therefore, to receive position updates in the app, you need to activate the tracker with a subscription plan. You can find all of the available subscription plans on our website.
I live in Saudi Arabia, would i have to pay for premium subscription to just be able to have coverage in my country? or can i pay for the basic one?****
If you’re only using the tracker in one country, then the BASIC subscription would be enough for you.
I live in the US virgin islands. will the cat tracker work there?****
Yes, our trackers work in the US Virgin Islands.
What is the range of this tracker?****
there is no maximum range. As long as your tracker can connect to cell networks and detect GPS positions, it will send data to our servers and you can see position updates in the app. This means that you could be on the opposite side of the world and still receive position updates.
Does it work in Thailand?****
Yes, the device should work in Thailand! The tracker needs to have a GPS signal as well as local cell network coverage in order to work. Should the tracker not work in your area, Tractive offers a 30 day refund policy so you can receive a full refund of the subscription plan.
I am thinking about getting 2 trackers for my outdoor cats. What width cat collar will fit in this tracker?****
My cat wears a collar with a neck size of 15-28 cm, and the tracker fits it perfectly, it does not move around. I also have another collar for my cat which has a Dimension/Size of 22-33cm (L) and 1cm (W), and the tracker fits that one too.
Can I use this on a car****
The tracker is designed for use with your pets, however it is a tracking device so it would be able to be used on other objects like a car. The tracker simply needs a GPS and cellular network connection to function and requires an active subscription.
Can it get wet?****
Yes! Tractive GPS devices do not have sim-card openings or USB ports and are therefore not only protected against splashing water, but are also fully waterproof (up to 1 meter depth, 30 minutes) according to IPX7-standard. As a result, Tractive GPS devices are perfectly suitable for water-loving pets and can, of course, be used in the rain.
Is there a way to find out how good of service I have in my area before buying it? Also does it have a noise function and is it loud?****
The tracker will connect to the strongest network in the area in over 175 countries. Unfortunately, if the cell coverage is too weak, the tracker will struggle to send GPS positions from the tracker to your phone so you might have difficulties tracking (in remote areas for example). We do offer a 30 day subscription refund policy which gives you the opportunity to try the tracker out and see if it will work in your area. The tracker has both a light and sound function that can be activated in the app. The sound has a relatively loud volume, but not so that it will scare your pet.
What does it weigh?****
the tracker weighs 35g. We recommend that your pet weighs at least 4kg so that they can wear the tracker comfortably.
How do one buys a subscription?****
Once you’ve received your tracker, all you’ll need to do is download the Tractive GPS mobile app and create an account. You’ll then be able to activate your tracker in the mobile app (or web app at Tractive.com/activate) by purchasing the subscription plan of your choice. I’ve been here over 15 mins trying to add a 2-yr ‘subscription’ , so, is there not a way ???
I’m sure they will take your credit card info and sign you up…I had to fight to get my 2’year subscription back after my unit broke a week in to the subscription.
I see the battery life is not great. will this be modified in upcoming releases?****
we are always looking to enhance battery life however we can and our software updates regularly include improvements targeting connectivity and battery life. However, the battery life of this new tracker is improved significantly using the new Power Saving Zone feature.
Will this work on a Seresto collar?****
Using the collar attachment that comes with the tracker, this tracker can be attached to all collars up to 2cm wide. If your collar is a bit larger, you might wish to go for the dog tracker, as this comes with an attachment clip that can be used to attach the tracker up to 2.8cm wide (or 3.4cm wide with the XL clips available on our website at https://tractive.com/en/pc/accessories).
