PARTS & ASSEMBLY

ASSEMBLY

Your HOT DOG ROLLER requires very little assembly.

  • Simply place Stainless Steel Rollers in the Base of the unit, making sure the pin fits correctly into the hole on the left hand side of the Base interior. DO NOT force the pin into the receptacle or it will strip and then Rollers will not work properly.
  • Fit the four Canopy Poles into the holes in each corner of the Base.
  • Insert the Drip Tray into the slot at the back of the unit.
  • Attach the Canopy Top to the Canopy Poles.NOSTALGIA NHDR8RY Vintage Hot Dog Roller fig1

HOW TO OPERATE

  • Place the HOT DOG ROLLER on a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting.
  • Stainless Steel Rollers must be correctly inserted in order to operate properly. Also make sure that the Drip Tray is in place.
  • Always make sure that the cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if necessary.
  • The dial on the right of The HOT DOG ROLLER turns on the power. Turn to the ON position. The red power indicator light should come on.
  • The dial on the left regulates the heating temperature, from MIN to MAX. Turn to MAX. Let the unit warm up for 3 minutes or so.
  • Once the appliance has finished heating, place the hot dogs on the Stainless Steel Rollers (evenly spaced). Up to eight regular-sized hot dogs or 12 breakfast sausage links can be cooked at one time.
  • The hot dogs will begin to roll. They will continue to roll at approximately two cycles per minute.
  • As the hot dogs cook, they will begin to darken in color. The hot dogs should be cooked for 15 – 20 minutes depending on the type and size of hot dog. The thicker the hot dog, the longer it will take to cook through.
  • After they have fully cooked, turn the heater knob down to a medium heat so that the hot dogs stay warm and continue rolling prior to serving.
  • After the cooked hot dogs are removed from the Stainless Steel Rollers, they can be replaced with new hot dogs to cook if desired. Remember to readjust the temperature to MAX when putting on new hot dogs. By following these simple instructions, your HOT DOG ROLLER will be fun for friends, family and kids of all ages!

HELPFUL TIPS

HELPFUL TIPS
If the red power indicator light does not come on after turning the dial to the ON position, check the electrical plug to make sure it is fully plugged into outlet.

ROLLERS
If the Stainless Steel Rollers are not turning, make sure the power light is on and the unit is fully plugged into outlet. Turn unit off and on again. Make sure the end roller pin is correctly inserted into the Base.
Sometimes hot dogs are square in shape which prevents them from rolling properly. Rotate the hot dogs, using tongs, on the Stainless Steel Rollers until they begin to plump from cooking. They will eventually even out in shape and automatically move on the rollers.

HEATING
If hot dogs are cooking unevenly, move the hot dogs from one side of the Stainless Steel Rollers to the other.
To prevent buns from drying out, wrap in foil or paper towel prior to placing in warmer.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Make sure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. Allow all parts to COOL to the touch, especially the Stainless Steel Rollers and Drip Tray.
Before first use and continuing after each use, be sure to wipe off the Stainless Steel Rollers with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. When more concentrated cleaning is necessary, wash in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
To prolong the life of your HOT DOG ROLLER, hand-washing parts is advised. Dishwasher use is not recommended. Never place the Base in a dishwasher.

RECIPES

Use a variety food items with your HOT DOG ROLLER for a quick, easy-to-serve meal:
