Product Installation
Installation Overview
The installation process consists of the following:
- Installing the device
- Attaching sensors to pipework
- Connecting sensors to the device
N.B. Sensors should not be connected to the device before steps 1 & 2 otherwise installation may fail.
Installing the Device
The device is typically installed in a cupboard under a sink:
– The device should be mounted in portrait orientation with the temperature
sensor connectors facing downwards.
– The device must not be mounted on metal and should be clear of any objects
around it.
– At each end of the enclosure are flanges with holes provided for screw
mounting.
Alternatively good quality double-sided sticky pads or Velcro can be used to
hold in place.
A typical installation is as follows:
Attaching sensors to pipework
Temperature sensors should be fixed in place before connecting to the device.
A suitable pipe location for each of the sensors should be identified, as near
to the outflow as possible. If the pipe is painted this should be removed if
possible before installing each sensor.
Sensors are simply clipped over a pipe. They should be pushed firmly in place.
A typical installation is as follows:
Connecting sensors to the device
Sensors should be connected to the device in the following sequence: 3,2,1.
Refer to your chosen device configuration for mapping of pipes to sensor
numbers.
Connecting sensor 1 activates the device at which time it will send an
installation message and attempt a downlink message to get its configuration.
Sensors must be connected in the correct positions, which are as follows:
Following sensor connection, any spare sensor lead should be coiled, cable
tied, and secured neatly out of the way such that it won’t be inadvertently
disturbed.
